Okay, the "actual" dress may be a certain color, but the image in the picture is definitely some shade of blue (NOT pure white) and the lacing is gold or brown or copper (NOT pure black).

I don't even understand black. Hold up something truly black (say your mouse or keyboard) against the screen... it's not even close to the same color. I mean it has color, which black doesn't. (Don't get technical with me *shakes the finger*)

Nah, I see it as blue and gold. It's nowhere even close to black... unless black is defined as "blue" or "gold". 
This reminds me of this massive wooly jumper I have, which my mum insists is "brown", but which I have to repeatedly tell her is clearly grey.

I think some people are messing with the different pictures to screw with people, cause I'm looking at two pictures of the dress side by side (one from Tumblr, the other from Twitter) and one dress is blue/black, the other blue/gold.
I think the solution to the dress dilemma is to put a shirtless Cullen next to the dress, then the answer will be "What dress?"

Well, that might explain all the conflict out there, but within this thread the only explanation that makes any sense is yours.
I swear on my favorite pair of shoes and my favorite purse that thing is blue and black.
I found it pretty interesting. When I first saw the picture, I thought white and gold. But I knew the actual dress was blue and black. So I brought the picture into photoshop and had it do an auto photo adjust. It fixed the contrast and brightness, and all of a sudden the dress looked blue and black. I think at first, my eyes were telling me the light was behind the dress, so it was a white and gold dress in the shadow. When it was corrected, my eyes knew it was lighted in the front and way too washed out with a flash. Now I can only see black and blue, where before I could only see white and gold. It's like now that my eyes know the truth, they can't go back to thinking of the wrong light source.
Also, I'm finally starting my first Cullen romance with my mage! Let the awkward flirting begin!

Oh wow. I saved the dress picture to my computer.
It is now white and gold, just in my pictures folder. Just like what happened to Potato cat. It's not a lighting or vision thing. There's a trick to this...I didn't take the fact that this is weird seriously before, but now I do.
