Don't say that Tish, I'm not sure how old are you but my Mom's in her 50s and she get better colour acuity then mine. Apparently it got better later in her life since she started to work on textile & look at colours everyday. So IMO eyes can be trained probably...

That doesn't precisely make me feel better since apparently your mom and I are probably about the same age, lol. But honestly, my eyes were never great, and I'm years overdue for new glasses, mostly because they've honked me off the last couple of times I went. Age is my cheap excuse, lol.

Vivienne in plaid makes me feel a little unsettled. Not good.

But it also makes me wish we could try a bunch of different armor sets on Cullen, just to see how they look.

Cullen in something made with Royale sea silk, for example...

I put Viv in the plaid that the IQ is wearing in that, even posted a screenshot of it, lol. Not on purpose, but I thought it was funny. I've also worn it (reluctantly). Apparently Cullen is a bit fashion blind since that was the same IQ in a romance with him, lol.

I am surpised how different the same materials look on different characters in the game. I have to say Blackwall's armor in Royale Sea Silk was pretty cool looking, cause the meshy fabric made it look like a whole new pattern.  And Vivienne totally rocks the deep green velvet one (not the patterned one...the really emereld green one). But some of those look terrible on other characters.

Thus, I would love to see Cullen in some different materials already in game to see how they look on him.  Have any of you Photoshop/modding folks done any of that?  (FYI...that stuff is pure magic to a non-tech person like myself).  I would love to see it!!

Cully in Fred Flintstone yellow...well, I could do without that one... :P

I wonder...I assume modders are working on getting new textures for the crafting materials (to get rid of the awful cartoony looking ones at least).  What of if the dreaded white/gold or blue/black thing ends up as one??? EEKK!!!

Speaking of losing one's sight as one gets older, I still haven't seen the Greg Ellis BioWare interview video.  I saw some Tweets about audio issues requiring outsourcing, but since then nothing.  Then I found a couple of seemingly snarky comments on Twitter directed towards Greg Ellis by former Community Manager, Jessica Merizan, which I don't want to take out of context, but seem unprovoked.  They were to the effect that she had never mentioned how quickly the video interview was to be posted and that it was in post-production, something Greg Ellis, as someone in the entertainment industry, should have been familiar with.  Ouch.  Anyone know what happened to the interview?

EDIT:  Sorry to have bothered everyone for nothing.  I found out what happened myself on @CabLivingstone.  For any other newcomers who didn't know what happened, the video had to be scrapped due to the aforementioned audio issues.

It was scrapped due to audio issues, possibly due to Slipknot recording the next studio over (although I'm sure there's plenty of room for fun conspiracy theories). And in the longer-term context of that conversation I think Jessica was being 100% professional and in fact pretty patient / accommodating.

EDIT: I had remarked here that today marks one year of the Cullen thread for me, then quickly deleted it because I didn't want to be OT, then got ninja-replied, so here it is again so it doesn't look like Caja's responding to nothing. ;) O Cullen thread! What would I read over breakfast and lunch every day if you didn't exist?

I don't know about the tweets but from what other Cullenites have told me the video's audio issues were beyond repair. They couldn't fix it and therefore, there never was a video for us to watch. It's a shame, really, 'cause I would watch it even with subtitles.

Congratulation, Owlfruit :wizard: . Wow, I'm impressed that you remember the date.

I seem to recall folks in this thread mentioning that Mr. GE isn't a gamer and hasn't played the other games in the series - is that right? I wonder how much he even knows about the lore and world states and... oh, he probably doesn't care. I forget sometimes that many people play video games for other reasons than nerding out about STORY and ROLEPLAYING - virtually killing very large, very powerful things is enough  I wonder what kind of gamer he'll turn out to be... maybe he'll end up spending all his time in MP (can you imagine a MP session with him? With voice chat?).

Yeah Greg Ellis has never played Dragon Age and I'm not sure he's ever played any video game at all.

Ha, the dress has reached my corridor. Most just seem pissed they can't see the one they saw first.

I still don't see how anyone sees black. Are they messing with the lighting on their screens?

Have a WIP Cullen :D Might take me a while to finish it, or I might decide to try using something else.

Used MelissaGT's chess screenshot as inspiration.

Hmm... I wonder what one's reaction would be when running into a character they voiced?  I'm just reminded of Conan O'Brien's "Clueless Gamer" segment when he played Halo 4 and ran into a character he voiced.  His first reaction was, "Can I kill this guy?" and he did just that :P

I don't know. I'm going to try looking at it again straight after I wake up since that's how I was the first time I saw it. If it is rods and cones and such nonsense, maybe that'll work. (Said the psychology student who had a whole module on visual perception)

This is the best explanation I've read.

This is the image that confirms (for me) that yes, I'm seeing blue and gold/brown:

Unknown-660x748.png

I literally don't see how anyone could see pure white or pure black from the picture, but I will just have to take the article's word for it, that some people's eyes are overcompensating and misdirecting them.

The patch that he describes as kind of orange-y on a black background looks the same color (to me) whether on a black background or a white background (I tested it): it's brownish-copper.

None of the colors for me ever change, no matter when I view them or what background I place behind them. In short, I think people are crazy!

IIRC he said to a fan at a con recently that he'd played a GTA but got disturbed by the option to beat up a prostitute and had to quit. Which gives me hope that he'll be able to finish DA:I; I think RPGs are a little easier to get the hang of for people who don't play games than FPSs are because you can pause and take it more slowly.

Also while we're talking about Greg: a friend got me Diablo III for my birthday and we were playing it together last week... I may have uncharacteristically yelled at the TV "OMG Captain Rumford is Commander Rutherford!!" Old news to everyone who was in the Cullen fandom in 2012, but I was excited. :) I didn't want to pick the option to ask Captain Rumford more about himself while in co-op with my friend because he would totally have made fun of me but I'm looking forward to doing so at some point.

I don't see pure black either, I think this is the original image I saw. The bottom part seems to be in a shadow.

I just keep imagining a MP session with Allegra Clark, Greg Ellis and FPJ (I believe he's a gamer?). It would be awesome.

And what's not awesome, not at all... rest in peace, Leonard Nimoy. :crying:

Hey, is your avatar one of your characters? If so, where did you get those brows? Are they Shantia's?

Yes! She's my rogue archer and I heart her. The eyebrows are indeed Shantia's. :)

She's very pretty! Do you remember if it was her complexion mod #1 or #2 that you used? Also, what face shape is that?

Sorry for the questions - I just noticed that the eyebrow shape changes a lot based on what face shape you use and I really like that look because they look like my brows irl!

I want to say it's complexion mod 3, but I'm not sure now. I'd have to check when I get home. And it's face 4 as a base. I just narrowed the nostrils and changed the makeup and hair color. I love that face because it has such strong features.

And thank you! <3

Mr Nimoy is dead :crying: ? Oh man... I saw him twice at conventions. He was really sweet, calm and polite. Took a great interest in photography. It's sad to hear that.
