Mr Nimoy is dead ? Oh man... I saw him twice at conventions. He was really sweet, calm and polite. Took a great interest in photography. It's sad to hear that.

RIP Nimoy, very sad. I grew up with Star Trek in syndication and the 80's movies. My dad was a big fan of the show.

 

Sorry for the random question but I get a headache trying to sort through the other threads - I know the Patch 5 beta is only for PC.  Will it only be released for PC, or do they plan to do PC first then consoles later? Anyone know?

As of now it will be released for PC only. They are planning on releasing it for consoles within the weeks that follow.

I seem to recall folks in this thread mentioning that Mr. GE isn't a gamer and hasn't played the other games in the series - is that right? I wonder how much he even knows about the lore and world states and... oh, he probably doesn't care. I forget sometimes that many people play video games for other reasons than nerding out about STORY and ROLEPLAYING - virtually killing very large, very powerful things is enough I wonder what kind of gamer he'll turn out to be... maybe he'll end up spending all his time in MP (can you imagine a MP session with him? With voice chat?).

I'm expecting a hilarious experience ala biowareaccordingtomom.tumblr.com given how little he knows about dragon age. And I cannot wait.

I just keep imagining a MP session with Allegra Clark, Greg Ellis and FPJ (I believe he's a gamer?). It would be awesome.

IIRC he said to a fan at a con recently that he'd played a GTA but got disturbed by the option to beat up a prostitute and had to quit. Which gives me hope that he'll be able to finish DA:I; I think RPGs are a little easier to get the hang of for people who don't play games than FPSs are because you can pause and take it more slowly.

 

Also while we're talking about Greg: a friend got me Diablo III for my birthday and we were playing it together last week... I may have uncharacteristically yelled at the TV "OMG Captain Rumford is Commander Rutherford!!" Old news to everyone who was in the Cullen fandom in 2012, but I was excited. I didn't want to pick the option to ask Captain Rumford more about himself while in co-op with my friend because he would totally have made fun of me but I'm looking forward to doing so at some point.

 

Yes, G.E. does, also there is an NPC in the first area that he voices too.

 

Also  Emery(?) the voice of Feneris does some NPCs too. There is a guard in the second act who speaks when you first wander into the desert. Its clearly his voice.

 

 

Going back to the NPC in ACT1 standing near a shop (voiced by G.E. btw) he says at one point, "( in wanting voice) There she goes again..." as my character walks by. Every time in DAI at Haven, my female walks by Cullen, that line above pops in my head as if its Cullen saying it...LOL!

Sad to hear that Nimoy's passed away, he was a talented actor and a nerd icon.

 

Star Trek's being rerun in the UK at the moment and it's oddly fitting that one of the episodes on today was Amok Time... one of, if not the best Spock episodes ever. It's in no small part due to his legendary skill as an actor that he could turn an episode that's entire premise boiled down to "Spock is acting crazy because he's horny" into one of the franchises best episodes, as we see him portray the normally reserved and stoic Spock struggling with his own biology betraying him and trying in vain to maintain his (rapidly diminishing) self-control.

 

His appearance in the Trek reboot I think is one of the main reasons that I enjoyed those movies (despite the plotholes and their need to remake Wrath of Khan for the third time), since he gave some credibility and legitimacy to the reboot being simply an alternate take on the timeline we knew. Plus it was cool to contrast the uptight and young Spock from the reboot (and to an extent, TOS), to the mellowed out, cool old guy he became by the later movies and the TNG era.

 

Rest in Peace, Leonard Nimoy, you most definitely Lived Long and Prospered.

Do we know if GE is playing Origins or DA2 first, or is he jumping straight into Inquisition?

Do we know if GE is playing Origins or DA2 first, or is he jumping straight into Inquisition?

I presume it's just DAI, since that's where he features the most (and what he tweeted in the pic). I'd be surprised if he'd have the time/interest/patience to play all three. But maybe he'll love DAI and want to continue!

I doubt he will play the other two games. I wonder with the increased popularity Cullen has received since the release of DAI, if G.E. has been wanting to play so he can get a better feel on what fans are experiencing and to answer questions a bit better.

My first warden left Redcliff and discovered the town was wiped out, sigh. I played hours beyond before I found out, so I deleted and started a whole new PT.

I hope so! I just have a hard time believing he was referring to the lines we hear. And at one point he was talking about recording a PT for the fans...

  I'm very sad about Mr. Nimoy. I grew up on Star Trek and was a true Trekkie. I was fortunate to have met him and James Doohan (Scotty) both before they died, as I have been to a multitude of Star Trek conventions. RIP Mr. Nimoy,,,,,,

Warden: "So guys, sorry but I did not know what everyone wanted....(looks around to see burning buildings, corpses laying all over). Huh. I'll be a Templar in a ballerina outfit, it really did get destroyed."

 

(A corpse walks up) "Do you have one with cheese?"
