LOL It will happen!! I'm waiting on the voiced version AND that perfect hairstyle. Auren is true-blue Dalish; he's got to have the wild long hair. Think Avatar-style hair, except, you know, not blue or nine feet tall And I know Adela will deliver... we just have to be patient. I think she just go back from a long trip and is also experiencing computer problems. Plus I'm not sure importing hair is possible yet.

 

And yeah, I must have voiced. The dialogue is all there *pout* Hearing Alin respond to Solas has been half the delight of the romance for me. His voice is so cute and delighted. I want to feel like I'm responding to my love, not staring blankly at him, a la the Warden

Yea hair is possible to make into the game, but i can only modify the existing hair and make it into something else atm, I haven't tried to see  if i can put some of my own work in there if it matches the same UV's and the same amount of verts yet, but i will test that too

There are actual brown default colors, well, damn. XD I always got my browns from combining orange and a dark red. It has a nice sunburst effect in certain lighting and it is pretty easy to do. Orange is typically the iris color and red is the inner iris, but you can do either one.

 My character's eyes are suppose to be a soft crystal looking green. Oh there is a story about all that/

No I get that... sometimes I recreate the character if the eyes aren't "just right". I think you can tell a lot from a character (person's) eyes

Agreed! My main PT I had a particular colour I wanted, hazel with going from brown to green but light enough you could see the difference without having to zoom right it (it was a self insert, so wanted my own eye colour but lighter). Sometimes I would think "yep prefect brightness!" not massively bright and not too dark but then be massively bright and too much or too dark with no colour distinction.

This is what I eneded up with and pretty happy with it

I don't know how many or if any of you play HoDA but I just noticed they have changed Knight-Captain Cullen from his DA2 face to the current DAI face.

As much as I love his appearance in DAI, I actually loved how his face was based on how he appearred in DA2 - which was what he looked like when he was Knight-Captain...

 

There is a Commander Cullen character that is in HoDA with his DAI appearance so I don't understand why they changed it.

@ cantina, oooo very pretty eyes on your quizzy. I absolutely suck at getting the color right. My quizzy has eyes that are preternaturaly purple and bright, I can't even look at her right now. I just wanted a deep violet... fail...

Hey R2, reading Knight's Bloom after someone gushed about it on here. totally worthy of gushing, it's written so well and I wasn't expecting complex conflicts! Awesomeness. Out of curiousity, as a writer, do you ever go back to your work and adjust things? Yours and other stories I've read make Cullen a foundling, and now we know he has family, and a decently big one too. Of course there are instances when being a foundling impacts your character's personality, so Cullen being an over achiever makes sense in light of that. I'm not saying it should be updated at all!! but just curious

Hey Adela, may I ask how you modify the hair? Do you use 3ds Max for this and do you load some of the Dragon Age files in that program to work on the hair? Sorry, I hope this isn't a too stupid question. I'm just curious here...

Most of my characters actually start out with brown eyes, it just depends on what you're going for. Here's the slider for Theo's brown:

Then I added a very dark red on the inner iris.

 

Rhinnon's eyes also started out brown:

Her's were the darkest brown to the left, right before the slider turns blue. Then I added a dark blue on the outer iris.

 

These eyes were also brown (the same starting color I used for Theo):

For these I added an inner iris of mid-yellow.

 

Ravenna's eyes started out with the same brown as Theo:

I then added and outer iris of green.

 

I noticed that there's two different groups of browns in the CC: cool browns towards the left and warm browns towards the right. 

OK, looking at your CC screenshot, I realize why I have the problems I do with it. Your lighting is a dozen times brighter than it is in mine. I literally can barely tell (and not always correctly) what the eye colors are. In mine, it's as if there's a spotlight shining from the left, and the rest is in semi-darkness. And sometimes if I get her at just the right angle, I can tell what color her eyes are. Sort of.

 

Edited: When I take a screen shot, oddly it's lighter, but her eyes are still shadowed.

 

And thank you! Now I know one of the positions on the sliders that has brown eyes, lol.

Hey, thanks so much!! And I'll just chuckle to myself that you didn't expect the story to be complex.  

 

On changing things later...? Naw. I mean, the whole story is AU now since we sorta know what happened to Cullen after 9:37, so what's one little detail? Heck, my whole oeuvre except for the last couple stories I wrote during DA:I are AU now in some way or other. Besides, I don't think my extrapolations are so far off as to be fundamentally game changing anyway. For example, in Knight's Bloom, Cullen still has issue with Hawke being a noble and him not. In another, Andraste's Grace, I give him a whole loving family that he decided not to inform of his whereabouts when he moved to Kirkwall. But regardless, even if they were, I think that's the fun of fanfic! 

 

So thanks for reading! I say it too often, but Knight's Bloom is still my favorite of all my word children. :happybounce:

Is it just me, or are brown eyes really difficult to get? In the CC, really dark blue was the closest I could get to brown for one of my characters. I got lucky enough that they actually look a soft brown in game. The hair also looks bluish grey in the CC, but in game, it is dark brown. Who was the genius that chose the lighting for the CC, I wonder?

Chapter Summary: Cullen finally learns what happened to Hawke after she left Kirkwall, and Anders extracts a promise that puts Cullen in a difficult position.
