Hey, just in case anyone else also missed it the first time and was interested, I dug through the files and found the cut line of yelling at Jim that MelissaGT mentioned the other day: https://www.dropbox....office.mp3?dl=0
Also, does anyone know if that conversation with Samson about how Cullen "did right by the mages" in Kirkwall actually shows up in the game? I don't remember it but it's been a few months since my canon PT and my memory for stuff not directly related to my dissertation is pretty bad right now.

Oh, that's not yelling. That's just stern. Here I'd been thinking he'd gone all rageface on poor Jim.

So, I guess I hadn't fully grasped the magnitude of what's happening in July in Birmingham, but our own Cullenite extraordinaire Rita is organizing her own con, to which Greg Ellis, Jennifer Hale, Steve Blum and others will come. How freakin cool is that?!?!?
Hmmm.... this is totally drivable!

Yeah, I was also expecting more rage from the description. I wonder if they left it out because they felt the silence was funnier (I think it is) or if if it was just too hard to lipsync with the interdimensional hyperscowl he's wearing when he would have said it.

Yeah, I like the silent glare better.
Much more fitting the situation.

That's pretty funny, but I think the glare says it even better, as well as other messages about being aware of the situation before interrupting, lol.

Oooh thanks for finding it! I hadn't had a chance to look with all the stuff going on here. I spent a good part of my day yesterday doing normal running around that I haven't been able to do due to the weather...and of course because we're supposed to get more snow today I had to deal with people doing this:
I do think the glare fits better, but knowing this is there it makes me wonder what other dialogue is in there, like maybe the "raunchy" stuff GE mentioned?

Since the BSN search function is a sieve that turned up nothing for me, I figured just downloading it myself would be less of a minefield than trying to find it on tumblr. I found nothing else from Cullen that we didn't already know about, including any male Inquisitor lines beyond the ones in the final scene (although that also has a few non-Cullen-related cut lines I didn't know about previously).
But I was just using the very easy-to-use program someone else made to go through the stuff, not doing any novel hacking of my own (coding is my least favorite part of my real job so I try to avoid it in my free time) -- one of the people on that modding thread someone linked said the male Inquisitor Cullen romance lines are all there, so unless they're wrong, maybe there's other stuff that doesn't show up unless you comb through it in some more low-level way.

Good luck to her, but whenever I hear about the words "new con", I recall the cautionary tale that was Dashcon. So, I guess I hadn't fully grasped the magnitude of what's happening in July in Birmingham, but our own Cullenite extraordinaire Rita is organizing her own con, to which Greg Ellis, Jennifer Hale, Steve Blum and others will come. Completely lost here. Who is Jim? What is this for? etc.

Jim is the community name for the poor unfortunate messenger who interrupt's the Quizzy's first smooch with Cullen and gets a death-glare for his troubles. (It's a very commonly reused model and is the same guy who Cullen sort of snaps 'now!' at during the first Skyhold conversation with Cullen in the courtyard.)
As for the con, seems cool, but...wrong Birmingham for me! ![]()

I was musing about my Quizzie buying Cullen a gift and began to wonder - does the Inquisitor even have any money? Of their own, for personal use? Do they draw a salary? Did they get any kind of compensation when they were just the Herald? If the Quizzie doesn't bring it up themselves, would anyone even realize that it's an issue?
I must admit I find it amusing to contemplate my Trevelyan realizing that if she wants to buy Cullen this thing she's found, she'll have to ask Cassandra for a loan... ![]()

Yes, I've noticed that model is reused- a lot. Kind of bugs me. Its like Cullen has his own Umpa Lumpas.
And as for "Jim," I still wonder as to how he knew where Cullen would be.

Since I cannot get Cullen a gift in the game, I just head-cannon (my only one in the game) the "Sparring Ring" is a gift from my Inquisitor to him.
Really wish I could make Cullen a new sword as a gift. ![]()

I'm assuming that Trevelyans at the very least have access to family money apart from anything else. With one of the perks, or else the noble background thing (not 100%) I did have an option, when judging Mistress Poulin, to take her ill-gotten gains for my own personal funds. I would imagine that most of our expenses are covered by Inquisition funds, but as for personal things, it's not clear.
As for Jim, maybe somebody was in Cullen's office when the IQ comes in and tells him, 'They went out that way onto the battlements'? It was a bit random of Cullen and the IQ to decide that an open wall in broad daylight with heaps of soldiers milling around is the perfect place for a private conversation. You have a whole wing of your own, woman, use it! ![]()
My Inquisitor was going to get him a music box because her dad is into clockworky stuff but they weren't really invented yet and I don't know a lot of Thedosian songs so I kind of dropped it. Maybe she'd just buy him a fancy hairbrush.
(Or, roofing...)
Nerds! This post wasn't top when I posted it...gah...gotta find something....

Cullen seems to like that particular corner of the battlements. I figure it's supposed to be fairly quiet and isolated, so that's where he goes when he wants to get away from the office for a bit (like he used to go to the lake), and his people know to look for him there (like his siblings did).

I was wondering the same thing about money during the Wicked Grace scene. Where are they all getting their money from?

I've been assuming the inner circle all draw a salary like lower-rung agents do (Gaspard's mercenaries, the freed Tevinter slaves, etc.). We know Bull does.

The Chargers, including Bull, aren't volunteers, so of course they'd be paid. The same can't be said of everyone. Varric is - or was - a prisoner (but of course he has his own funds). Cole is... I don't even know if he understands the concept of money. Blackwall is technically - supposedly - still with the Wardens; would he get anything beyond room and board from the Inquisition? Hmm...

True! It just seems like the Inquisition was offering to hire people left and right, though (and I think it was said at some point that we pay better than most), so I can't imagine Josephine letting its core work for room and board unless they insisted individually. I headcanon something small but nonzero, like the salaries of templars, who are also given room/board and who are also not primarily in it for the money.
EDIT: Come to think of it, there's also all those War Table missions where one of the advisors notes that the Inquisition is keeping most of what the mission earned but setting aside some of the resulting gold for your personal use. SECOND EDIT: Although I imagine that being more of an equipment allowance, like the gold you find on the road.
