Hey, just in case anyone else also missed it the first time and was interested, I dug through the files and found the cut line of yelling at Jim that MelissaGT mentioned the other day: https://www.dropbox....office.mp3?dl=0
Cool! Thanks for this!

I guess it depends on how scrupulous your Inquisitor is when it comes to money. My lawful good gals would be turning everything they earned over to the Inquisition, but my... um... more ethically flexible characters... would be stashing some away here and there. Not to mention playing on their reputation to get free stuff from the locals, all that jazz ![]()

I was wondering the same thing about money during the Wicked Grace scene. Where are they all getting their money from?
Corpse looting?? ![]()
Money in games is always kind of odd.
Does no one pay Shepard? The Wardens?
Then I tell myself, it is just a game....but sometimes those odd things bug me once I start thinking about them.
Corrected is for in.

Me, too. Esp since they matter for fanfic. Like... in my on-going Cullen/Hawke fic, I have a Wicked Grace scene and former-prisoner!Cullen literally has no independent source of income with which to bet. So I imagine him starting off betting buttons and random odds & ends when he's learning, but then Varric ups the ante, of course. So then he's betting with money that he had had to borrow from Hawke and Varric anyway.

Yeah, it is. There's a perk you get (can't remember it) where you can open one of the doors in Skyhold and it's brimming with coins. True or not, I headcanon that that's Inquisition money and whatever you get from looting or scavenging is yours. The Inquisition likely gets plenty of money from supporting nobles plus a percentage from the merchants they recruit. And, as someone pointed out, Iron Bull mentions negotiating the price of the Chargers with Josephine, so again, more Inquisition money and not Inquisitor money.
I mean, if the entire Inquisition only has 15k, then that's a serious problem. ![]()

Cullen as a Templar must have received a type of stipend. The Chantry would have to pay them something. Would they have banks? A savings account?
And I have lost the ability to type today. ![]()

Jim is the community name for the poor unfortunate messenger who interrupt's the Quizzy's first smooch with Cullen and gets a death-glare for his troubles. (It's a very commonly reused model and is the same guy who Cullen sort of snaps 'now!' at during the first Skyhold conversation with Cullen in the courtyard.)
I wondered how you knew HIS name was Jim when there are 100 of him running around. ![]()
edit: As far as money goes, my latest IQ is running around with over $20,000...she's honest and would see nothing wrong with using some of the money on her companions or advisors. She's the one making the money and she's the one saving the money by not over spending on things. ![]()
edit again: First thing she'd spend that money on, if she could, would be to make a much better infirmary! The one in the game is horrible. ![]()

IIRC if you do the "Gather Coin" mission on the war table (always use Josie for that), they'll say things like "a part of this went for your personal pocket" or something like that no?
So I gather the quizzy must be paid for doing her/his work, at least got an allowance. I wager all advisors got the same thing.

I think Cullen likes cookies, based on one of Josie's dialogues.
Josephine: He likes them? Truly?
Worker: Very much, Lady Ambassador.
Josephine: It's just butter and sugar. Fereldan taste is so… simple.
As Cullen is the only Fereldan male in the Inquisition, she must be talking about him.

Well plus too, The Inquisition does get:
Donations
Trade
Protection
While your in Haven I doubt the income of the Inquisition is that great to produce decent pay. However upon arriving at Skyhold as the game progresses and need for the Inquisition becomes greater, I'll assume the pay does too.

She is.
And the cookies are: Shortbread.

That's cute! Tbh I think they'd make a pretty cute couple. I think I like that more than Blackwall x Josie (which supposedly happens in game? I guess it's revealed in banters, which is why I never heard it.)

Shortbread cookies are one of my favorite desserts, so Cullen gained a lot of approval with me there. Still, it's too bad Josephine gave up on that tailored coat from Val Royeaux. Maybe next year.

Good point, I'd forgotten about that - they do say that they get a cut and you get a cut. So probably all the gold we carry around is ours, since it might be impolitic to blow a huge chunk of Inquisition money on a giant war nug when people are dying and stuff.
(Does that make Cullen a kept man? Tee hee.)
Cullen doesn't get to keep most of his shortbreads in my game, I'm afraid. Iris is just too good at making puppy eyes for them, and all that time on the road leaves her so skinny.... Nom nom nom nom nom.
Edit: oh for crying out loud, now this post is ToP too?? D: Um um...um...look behind you, it's Cullen! *flees*

So I'm curious: how different is the game if you do "Champions of the Just" instead of "In Hushed Whispers"? I know with "In Hushed Whispers" there are references throughout the game of the future you saw at Redcliffe and you're preventing it from happening. What happens with "Champions of the Just"? I know there isn't much Cullen content.

Yeah. That is why Josie is so crushed by Blackwall's revelations. And I think they would be a "cute" couple, but not a "good" couple. Opposites attract...that is sometimes true, but other times opposites slaughter one another. I think Josie is far too pompous for Cullen and Cullen is far too reserved/disciplined for Josie. *shrugs*
I AM FINALLY HEARING SOME ADVISOR BANTER WITH CULLEN, but I have not heard the one where it says Cullen is tidying up after he and the IQ get frisky. Does anyone know what exactly that banter says and which messenger Cullen is speaking with. So far I am only getting banter with a dwarven messenger and she is adorable.

The biggest differences are in the ending slides and who you face as Coryfish's lieutenant (Calpernia instead of Samson). Instead of the dark future they talk about what the envy demon showed you. And there are different conversations with Cullen, Leliana, Cassandra... um... possibly some other people I can't remember at the moment...
Oh, and it changes who knocks on your front door during the battle for Haven, of course.

Yeah, they must. Templars def do, since that's how Keran was supporting his sister. I hadn't really thought much about someone like Varric, who is of course independently well off, but those who have been 'hired' to do a job probably get paid.I try to just tell myself they must get paid some type of salary.

I always figured everyone in the Inquisition gets some sort of Stipend. I also like to think Varric sells off items from the looted bodies and divides the gold with the group.
I can hear him saying..........."Loot the bodies. A good friend of mine always stressed that when we were on a run with Hawke." ![]()
