Man, I dunno. Yeah, I remember that, too. Maybe it's just for reasons, erm, other than sustenance...?

Absorbing their life force...

Thanks for the answers all!  My "like" button is not working for some reason, but you have all given me lots to think about. It seems like this was not a straightforward question after all.

In regards to human dreaming, i always assumed that whenever a human dreams, they are int he fade (as per Wynn's very first dialouge in Origins).  Thus, I always think that if Cullen is remembering some traumatic event, it is basically fade spirits that are recreating those events out of his mind.  Ie, that all dreams are visual created by demons/spirits as they feed off of sleeping minds.  And I assumed that the difference with mages is that they could communicate directly with the demons/spirits, and are thus susceptible to possession...I also always thought of them as sorta...lucid dreamers.

I thought Dagan lamented not being able to dream when she talks to you in Skyhold, but I might have misunderstood her.

And darkspawn...we just don't know (that seems to be the consensus).

Again, thanks for the input!!

The darkspawn don't need to eat. That said, they do sometimes consume flesh, likely because people just taste good and it's revolting. Darkspawn seem to revel in obscenities.

Isn't it that mages are aware they are in the fade when dreaming while non mages are not aware. As for Cullen and his nightmares I just assume it's like any traumatic event for anyone, they simply have nightmares about it from time to time. The lyrium just helped to block it to an extent, he says that some templars like taking it to forget failed harrowings and such.

Dagna says: "Also, dwarves? We don't dream. So when mages talk about it, I can only... well, dream what it would be like."

And Varric has a line in the Fade which goes something like, "Is this what it looks like when you guys dream? How do you sleep?"

Well, Timebean...you're not the only one who is having issues with BSN. My like button is being an ass and it also makes me double post whenever I post once. It should pass.

It's not registering my likes. And when I hit "Post" nothing appears to happen; if I navigate away from the page and open up the thread again, though, my post appears.

As for dwarves, darkspawns and magic, I always fond very odd to encounters Genlock emissaries in DA:O. Sooo... that makes me think darkspawn don't use the same magic nomal mages uses (blood magic ?). In the novel Last Flight, it is described that the archdemon uses very dark magic not coming from the fade, could the darkspawn do the same ?

Yep, but if you just keep waiting or reload, well, you get a double post like the ones you've been seeing from me. I love BSN, but it is buggy as hell.

Lol. It should be considered a blessing then! Either you have papers that are great and you can just whiz through them or you have papers you want to burn. Distractions are good...most of the time.

Everything seems to be working again.

It's almost five for me. I wish that I lived somewhere with the time a few hours earlier, like California.

Aww! I have advice: burn everything and leave a  Cullen plushie as your resignation. XD

I've been having problems with the forum for months. When I reload the page, half the time it lags on "resolving host" for a good 30sec and then the page doesn't load right. Then I have to reload again til it does. Up til yesterday I blamed my router, but now I know it's not because I just upgraded to a brand new wireless AC Netgear (and my computer connection is actually wired). So 'tis not my intrawebz...

...and this is the only site that does it.

I'm not saying I have a really hard job, it's just mentally draining... I also teach extra classes every semester because my base salary is not enough to survive on. That's something that gnaws at you after awhile... why did I spent so much time, mental and emotional effort, and money to get all these degrees if I can't even get paid properly.

I'm bitter and hungry right now lol I can't believe I have to go to the gym after this. I'm also on a diet. I could gnaw on a soldier right about now....

Odd. That happens to me sometimes and I always thought it was something on my end. Isn't it amazing how we always blame our equpiment first, lol. Our equipment would probably slap us if they could.

I don't always have issues, but when I do...I don't where I am going with this...17953961.jpg
