Mmm, hard to explain. We've never involved the devs in the past... and last celebration she was notified about the page prematurely, and it was an atypical celebration... which ... urgh.  Anyway. It just... feels awkward to me for many reasons, not the least of which being that I'm not keen on folks pointing "go here" signs about the thread out in the scary interwebs. 

 

So... anyway, there's my reasoning. Clear as mud, I know.

We do have fun, that's the most important thing. I see that the Solas thread also do the Celebrations. Now I'm interested in seeing all the past celebration on this thread and on Solas'. Guess that I really need to actually go there, they seems nice too.

 

Okaaaay I know I'm crazy, but actually I already start thinking about what to make for the next Milestone celebration... since it'll take a hellishly long time for me to actually complete anything...

 

Any idea of major theme? Last time's Memory is really really good

 

Really sorry to have to bring this up, but as a person of legal age with a small frame I'd prefer if we didn't resort to these generalizations of people of small stature being physically immature or inherently less appropriately romanceable. :/ I mean, I'm not super short myself but next to someone as tall as Cullen I'd probably look pretty tiny, so...

 

Seconded. I'm short and my BF is more than a head taller than me. We do looks a bit like that  Cullen & Lady Lavellan side by side.

When I was working in secondary schools last year I regularly got mistaken for a student. Being 5'2" on a good day and very round faced means I get pegged as underage all the time, I spend forever trying to look older. My younger sister is -9- years younger than me and yet people have assumed I'm the younger sibling on a couple of occasions. My partner put a box of chocolates on top of the kitchen cupboard to annoy me and it took half an hour and some improvisation with a coat hanger to get them down

Eeep I've just spotted the Gaider news.
Shocked is the word but I think Mr Weekes is definitely the right person to hand off to, I enjoy his writing style. I can also be pretty happy in the knowledge that their secret IP is going to be in awesome hands too (just please don't make it an MMO I want another awesome SP franchise!)

 

It makes me sad loosing both Gaider and Hepler, I think they both have done some amazing work with DA, but I agree with you regarding Weekes. In fact, I will be very curious to see where these changes bring us in the comming games.

Boom!! Um, which one? Not sure if you saw it, but I recently published another Chocolate & Sex, a new Solas-Cullen, and two chapters of Fool's Errand (my Cullen-Hawke now-AU). I'm still plotting my Solas-Cullen continuation hopefully for DABB, and chugging away on Fool's Errand (*cough*ball scene*cough*). 

 

Uh, that was a LONG ASS GAME. I see I just missed 5000 pages, will go back and check it out!

Ah, I didn't know the Solas thread was following our lead. Cool. As for a new theme, we can start brain storming, but I sure hope 6000 is still a ways out.

I'm sure they'd talk about all the things... even if they kept it at a superficial chat level. There's too much in common for it to be avoided without awkwardness.

I'm not sure, but I think it'd be lovely to read some fics/see some more art of different people's interpretations.

I can't see them getting along as adults, not from the start. Cullen is too dry and Alistair is too goofy. After a while I think they could be close as brothers, they have so very much in common and probably share the same fears and dreams in regards to their love life. But I think they would have to be forced together for it to happen. Small talk would be awkward and soon abandoned.

Well, we could write her a direct message than it wouldn't be public. However, I can partly understand your reasoning and I wouldn't want that anyone feels uncomfortable. I was merely curious. And I thought that it might be nice for the writer to see that her work inspires people. Maybe we can invite her for the page 10000 celebration .

This might depend on whether or not the HoF is still alive and if s/he is a (female) mage. I can imagine that they avoid talking about her if both of them had feelings for her and she died because it's painful. And if they have met at Kinloch Hold during the Broken Circle quest it will probably be very awkward if they meet again. But if they are not burdened with the past they will probably get along fine and have mutual respect.

 

A meeting between Alistair and Cullen was actually the topic of Thane4Forever's fanfic for the 5k celebration. I thought it was an interesting approach .

In my world state Cullen and King Alistair would be better off not discussing Morrigan. My warden queen conveniently neglected to tell Alistair that there would be a child resulting from his night with Morrigan. I can't imagine his reaction would be too pleasant!

Aw man, I'm sorry to hear that. I actually watched one of my professors get told to her face by another professor (in front of her students, no less) that she mistook her for a student. It was a joke, of course, but it finally occurred to me why my Prof specifically told us to address her with the honorific "Dr." instead of "Miss" on the first day of class...seems like it probably happens quite often. I can't imagine it's pleasant to be compared to young students as a Ph.D with a ton of experience in the field. >_>

Part of me likes the idea that they knew each other at some point during Templar training, but part of me also thinks it's too much of a coincidence that they'd have been sent to the same chantry in Ferelden. I also like to think Cullen is a couple of years older than Alistair at the beginning of Origins (Alistair was 20 at the time according to the timeline, I believe). But I definitely agree with meanieweenie in that it makes more sense for them to eventually get around to chatting about people they both knew, however touchy the subject might be. Alistair can be a jokester but he's also quite sensitive and considerate, and he's also likely been through a lot in the ten years since they last (potentially) met so I think Cullen would be comfortable enough with him to open up.
