Spoiler

My IQ would act like the default scene. She respects Cullen's thought of saving his face and trusts his decisions so she would let Cullen deal with the situation himself. Cullen would never talk about the event and refuse to play the game again. But my IQ would insist him to play again as it can really help him to bond with the others, not without enough practice though.

He does mention it again to the quizzie first, though, how he's never playing cards again and he still can't find--(unnamed article of clothing). And she teases him about how cute and blushy he was and he's all, *sigh* "maker", and it's all very cute. So he's not quite so mortified that he'll never speak of it.

I've always assumed the piece of clothing that was missing was his knickers. Sera probably found them and has some crazy prank in store :P

:P I know he says that he is never going to play that game again and Varric at the party says he needs to find something to encourage Cullen back to the game. But I don't know Cullen is missing some of his clothes lol Time to replay the scene! :wizard:

I'm pretty sure we've talked about these lines in here before (or maybe I dreamt that after listening to the audio), but I was looking through Cullen's conversation files and saw them again.

The way it's set up, it kinda seems like it would be a break time similar to Sera's roof time (Inquisitor asking to hang out, followed by random bits of conversation). I wonder if it would be possible to get this working? I gave it a shot, but after four hours all it resulted in was me missing the Origins toolset and wanting to throw my computer out the window. I just could not get the dialogue option to show up.

Unless this is already available in-game and I just have no idea how to trigger it. :(

The look Cullen and IQ give each other at Wicked Grace - I think he's just embarrassed and wants to make sure she turns around before he makes his oh so graceful exit.

That's the way I see it also. To be honest, who wouldn't be embarrassed? Cullen was really the only one in the group with no clothes on. A) No one else lost so heavily. B ) No one else was so naked. It's a double embarrassement.

Ditto. My Quizzie would have done exactly the same thing which we got to see in the default scene - politely turn around and let Cullen leave.

@ fontofnothing: Wouldn't be suprised if it's bugged. I remember that something similar happened in DAO and not all of the dialogues triggered. So, without a toolset, I doubt that there is a way to fix it. And yes, a toolset would be so awesome. Not that I'm good with it but I'm highly motivated to learn :). Last things I've heard was that BioWare is not reluctant to release one but that there are some "issues" with a third party.

I have no idea what the story is on this dialog but I'd love to find out.

Aside from the screamy nightmares about his pink bubble of woe and Kirkwall, I'd love to find out what that man dreams about. Pft... he probably dreams about work. lol

It was really ironic though how the scene played out like the story he tells from his circle days. Too bad he didn't have the charisma to play if off the same as well. But then I don't think it would've been nearly as funny.

How interesting! Is there more to all those other lines below that one (and the one above)? Could you maybe, possibly post screenies so curious parties can read them?

Here ya go:

[Inquisitor] Let's do something together. (This is the paraphrased text that leads to the line below.)
[Inquisitor] I could use some fresh air. Could you?

[Cullen] [unknown plot condition (if slept together?)] Rooms in the Fereldan Circle were shared. Beval requested a transfer because apparently I talk in my sleep.
[Inquisitor] You do.

[Cullen] They didn't speak often, but Carver was always loyal.
[Cullen] [if Hawke is male] The recruits knew better than to insult his brother.
[Cullen] No one dared speak ill of his sister.

[Cullen] ...it would look bad if I had laughed in the middle of an inspection. I bruised a rib hiding it.

[Cullen] ...but he kept talking. We all just looked at each other. The mages were as confused as I was.

[Cullen] I don't know what he'd done, but the bird was tangled in the jesses. I had to cut her loose.

[Cullen] (Laughs.) Did you really? There must be more to it. What happened after that?

[Cullen] [if Cullen romance active] Honestly, I couldn't keep my eyes off you. But we'd only just met.

[Cullen] Does this one have a name? A fine bird like this deserves a name.

[Cullen] I've attended a few Harrowings. Even when everything goes well, they are nerve-wracking.

[Cullen] ...and then traveled by ship to Kirkwall. I'd lived in the middle of a lake. I thought I was prepared for sea travel...

[Cullen] [unknown plot condition] I didn't tell Leliana we were borrowing her bird. Chances are she knows anyway.

[Cullen] ...then says, "She's from Kirkwall," as if I would know her. Kirkwall's a big city. I didn't go around introducing myself to everyone.

[Cullen] If Varric writes a story about all this, do you think I'll be in it?

[Cullen] ...it doesn't matter if you have magical resistance or not. Getting singed by a fireball hurts.

No, that's why I said it seemed like it was a break time similar to having roof time with Sera. You hang out with her and she'll make a random comment from a list of comments, but the Inquisitor doesn't usually say anything. The roof time scenes only last a few seconds. The only response to Cullen's comments above is the one included ("You do.").

Ooooh OK that makes much more sense. I've only ever done one roof time with Sera so I didn't even know she made different comments every time.

I think that Bioware should let us be able to find Cullen's undies somewhere in the keep then get to raise them on a flagpole...or choose them as an option for the flag to decorate skyhold.  Why?  Because I spent AGES wandering through that damned castle looking for copies of Hard in Hightown.  And I deserve a laugh.  And if his undie's had his name stitiched into them, it would make me terribly happy.

This is me pre-cofee...see what happens?!! No shame!!!  :P

Oh, my quizzies would have too. But my Solasmancer would have winked or smirked at him first.

Speaking of Solas, I was disappointed he didn't join in. He does play cards; there's a Blackwall line about not playing cards (not Wicked Grace, the other one that dwarven Noble Hunters play?) with Solas again because he had to walk back to his quarters wearing a bucket afterwards. And Blackwall's a bit more worldly that way than Cullen, he was a regular army officer.

I'm sorry guys, this is rather off topic but I'd like your opinions about fanart vs "original art".

I know that the topic of Cullen!Dad does not bode well with many people, but lately I've been musing on "how Cullen's kid with my Inquisitor would look like? How is her childhood feels like?". Basically this drawing is the very first result. After drawing her many times (sketches mostly, only one finished), I really love her & would love to expand her concept more. I just want to draw her playing around with other kids (possibly a brother, a dog, or friends), her with her family, going to school, go fishing in summer, picking cherries in April, carving pumpkin in autumn. Things like that. Or trying to tell her story without any word (If possible), I got her back story covered already (and not all is fluff...). She's the one I originally thought of when I wrote my 5K fic.

My question is: should I continue her as Fanart (hence Cullen!Dad & she lives in Thedas), or should I expand her as a completely original character who does not live in Thedas (hence I'll have to re-create the concept of her world & parents)? All my RL friends & family advised me to present her & continue not as fanart but as original work. But still, for me fanart is art and this kid's concept is conceived from my musing about Cullen. It's not big different for now or in a week but will be a huge different on the long run (I plan to draw her a lot in the future). What's your opinion?

This is my list of Pros & Cons for each side... Any opinion is welcomed.

Ooh, what program are you using to look at these? I saw these in the talk tables but didn't know of any way to organize them and see the conditionals like you've got there.
(And as a small contribution to the discussion, audio for the "bruised a rib" line: https://www.dropbox....ection.mp3?dl=0)

EDIT: Also, in response to your question about whether we've talked about them here or not, I posted something about them once and then deleted it a few minutes later -- it's possible you happened to skim by in the few minutes it was up. Or that we legit talked about these earlier and it's just yet another thing that's inexplicably impossible to find with BSN's search function.

Ceru, I think it all depends on what you want to get out of your art. Personally, I don't agree with some of your fanart cons, because I don't think you need to follow the canon nor do I think you need to worry about BW taking your creation ( they can stop you from making money off it, but I don't think there much else to worry about given their support of fanart). I also don't think you should worry about about what viewers want unless it's a big motivator for you to have lots of likes and accolades. But that's also a trade off, because you have built in audience with fanart... but have to build your own audience for original work.

Now if you want to create something where sky's the limit on the story you tell, then, that seems like a good reason to go original.

But again, I think only you know how important these factors are for you.
