So, Cullen related...I was just wondering from you guys who play the multiplayer...is there any reference to Cullen in the MP? I remember way back when...how one of the characters says something about how Cullen smells like oakmoss and something...

I was just curious if there were any other good Cullen tidbits in the MP world. Am considering getting headset and giving it a try and was hoping for some more Culleny goodness!! :P

There's tons. Someone put them all in a spreadsheet I have linked at home.

IIRC Cullen also narrates the introduction of one or two missions no? I remember squealing so hard that it must've made Arty, Tish & Morlanwen deaf.

I can't quote the exact lines, but with Cullen, it's a comment about noble names and a somewhat racey comment. With Solas, they just kind of dismiss it as no one interesting (if only they knew). I haven't heard yet for Blackwall or Cass.

Thanks. I think I've heard those lines... Maybe not... Ah, I'm back at home on Saturday so I'm gonna find out then with my new and improved canon Quizzy!

Alright, thanks. I don't feel like there has been enough build-up with romance yet, might be cause Cullen isn't party member so he feels like distant cute templar you have flirted couple times and might have shot with.. but not someone to start relationship out of blue. Jumping at the moment to relationship with him wouldn't just feel right story and character-wise so I'm going to drag it a bit.

I don't remember the quest names anymore, but so long as you still have a flirt option left I could still start the romance even after the Arbor Wilds.

... which I *may* have done for therapy once while reloading certain late-game sad romance scenes with a certain bald character who shall not be named... <_<

At one point after you recruit Vivienne and you talk to Cullen (i think it's under the Anything I Should Know?), he says something like "Vivienne doesn't seem to like me very much, but I'm used to not being liked by mages" (paraphrasing).  Then you can respond with a flirt "Well, I like you". Then he says "Um, thank you."

He says, "Oh, um, thank you," if you're not romancing him and flirt with him in that convo. If you ARE romancing him, he gets this deep, pleased, flirtatious tone and says, "I'd noticed," instead. At least, that's what he said to my two mages who romanced him .

I hope I have a save where that line hasn't been used yet, I've got to hear this.

Just noticed this on Cullen's wiki page.

As with all other romanceable characters, if the inquisitor romances Cullen, two Orlesian nobles in the throne room will comment on the romance at each progression.

Does anyone know what's said? For Cullen and any other LI?

I think this is it :

Okay, less OT: I don't know that you can still start the relationship after Arbor Wilds. IIRC I remember hearing somewhere that after both Wicked & Abyss it's nada to start relationship...?

IIRC, it's the exact same lines in the videos linked above for all of the LIs, except that for Sera, Blackwall, Bull, and Solas you get a dismissive "I prefer a highborn scandal" instead of the "Noble names, lure of command" line you get for Cullen, Cassandra, Dorian, or Josie.

Not that I noticed, lol, I think we all were trying to identify who was talking at the start of each. Though I'm used to my daughters having nerdgasms over things...

My elf mage had the option to start a relationship with him right up until the final mission. Alas, I was locked into a romance with Voldi, so every time I tried to "start a romance with Cullen" he was all, "I thought you were involved with someone else," and I was all NO, I GOT DUMPED IN A WYVERN PIT FOR NO GOOD REASON, DEFINITELY NOT INVOLVED. And the option continued to be there until I went to fight Cory, which basically left me yelling at the screen for the game to stop teasing me with things I wanted and I couldn't have.

It should still be easy to not get Divine Viv if you recruit her. She does get 10 points when you conscript the mages, but you can lose them all if Celene dies and you put Briala in power, (not to mention it loses points for Divine Cass). Allying with the Grey Wardens also leads to losing Viv and Cass points, and really, after that, most of the Viv points you can get are in the conversations you have with her and other people. And Leliana ultimately has priority over Cass, so it should be a piece of cake.

Heh, I'm trying to get Cassandra to not be Divine this playthrough.  My current character is going to pursue her romance.  I wanted to make Leliana Divine with the conscripted mages, so I have to be careful after losing 10 points from that.

The hardest thing I've done yet in this game: end up BFFs with Vivienne yet with Leliana as Divine.

Yeah, Cassandra is difficult to lose points for, (especially if you're trying to stay on her good side like you are), and she's my biggest obstacle to my precious Divine Vivienne <3 so I hope it's not too hard for you!

Wow, nice card, I get an impression why you call your pc "the beast".

There are same threads about this issue - it seems there are more people affected by this. Maybe a driver thing? But even if you don't have an AMD card you could try it, maybe it helps. I had the same effect with the message sweetfx on/off appearing in the game and no effect visiable and it helped putting the sweetfx folder in the radeon pro folder.

The default directions I've always read in regards to using SFX via RadeonPro is to have it located in the RadeonPro folder.

I honestly don't think it could be a card issue - the 980 isn't all that different from the 780ti and I didn't have any issues getting it to work. I've had weird things happen where things somehow got borked and RadeonPro wouldn't work til I did a repair install on the game. I'm wondering if it's something oddball like that.

Yeah, I'm going to follow the wiki very closely!  I was planning on putting Briala in power and allying with the Grey Wardens, sooo it shouldn't be too hard as long as my Inquisitor makes sure to kill Cassandra's targets for her too.

Oh, and in other news, my Inquisitor is sexy:

If you tell Cullen to stay on lyrium only until this mess is over and you can find a safer way to quit, you get a special dialogue option in the ending scene (at the party), reminding him of your promise and comitting to look into it now. If you don't take this line, you get the same slides as if Cullen has not cleaned up from his addiction at all. If you do take this line, you may get the epilogue slide about the remaining Templars following on his steps and cleaning up ("may" because it doesn't always happen; there's a chance you'll get it, but something else is interfering in it and you may not) - but if this fails, you will get the equivalent "not cleaned" slides too.

There's no other variant for the Templar ending that depends on Cullen - the rest all depend on whether you allied with or disbanded them, and who is your Divine. (the best possible ending for the Templars is the willing alliance + cleaned Cullen + Seekers rebuilt + Cassandra Divine, for the record)

Thank you! I plan to do a Templar playthrough because I think it makes sense for a warrior Inquisitor and the abilities seem really nice and useful. But I am not sure if I can bring myself to ask Cullen to take lyrium again - he already stopped and he seems so determined to get away from it that telling him to take it again is very hard. Maybe on different playthroughs.. not sure yet.

I want to try NWN next (playing KOTOR now).  I also considered Jade Empire, but have heard mixed reviews...

I played NWN when I was younger, pretty sure that came out over a decade ago so I'm not sure if would still hold up to my tastes now. Forewarned though the graphics are reaaaally dated.... NWN2 is a completely different game. From what I remember it reminds me of like a baseborn attempt at what Origins achieved in terms of a more narrative story with dialogue choices, and I only played it a few years ago whereas it came out before Origins. Admittedly I don't think I finished it...
