No I am not trying to be or sound like an ass here.

I am going to take Mike's response with no more then a sigh and an eye roll. The reason being is because its one these "Duh" moments that should have been apart of the game to begin with.

Not to mention so-called features that were either relayed to us by interviews, videos or whatever else, has either not been done or done so poorly that I beg to wonder why the time was even taken to impliment such. Yes, Yes, things change, blah, blah, blah. :P

Should content have been opened up after the main story was completed? Absoutely.

Should characters have been locked from speaking to you once the main story was over? No.

Now we are being fed a tid-bit that this could be rectified in a DLC. Great. I assume I'll probably have to pay $20.00 for it too.

Look, DAI and I have a love/hate relatrionship. I really enjoyed the Cullen parts but when it comes to Cullens lyrium issue, it was porrly executed.

I just cannot break out the streamers upon hearing this news. While I adore DA, I have lost faith in the team behind the scenes.

Just seems like they more concerned about how water or whatever looks in the game, then story and the characters in the world. But since the game is released now they can care about that stuff.

If I sound bitter, I am.

I am not expecting DAI to be like Origins. I was expecting the same care, time and dedication with the characters in Origins to be carried over to DAI. I don't care about pretty enviroments. What I care about is a good story and good characters to go with.

Instead I am given the same half-ass answer, "We left that up to the player." Um, gee thanks for allowing me to fill in the gigantic holes you the writer of this character coould not fill in. Its not my job to tell their story, its you the writer. I hate playing this b.s playground game of, "Red Robin, Red Robin, Cullen went to Kirkwall and got drunk. Come on over."

Now its, "Oh we hear and see the problem. Lets fix it."  <face palms>. I like playing with Yo-Yos not being one.

<throws hands up and walks off>

Hate to say it but you do sound like an ass here and someone who clearly doesn’t understand game dev and all the challenges involved or that hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Things changing during dev as you so flippantly remarked on is a reality of game dev, one that people such as yourself need to understand and accept. It is 100% impossible to make a game that satisfies everyone or ensure that nothing gets cut ever.  There are people who will whine about the graphics not being as nice as other games, there will be people who will ask/demand it be similar/exactly the same as another game, etc. etc.

Fine the game didn’t tick all your boxes and your angry about it, you’re well within your rights to feel that way but don’t for a damn second say it’s because the dev’s are lazy or are half-assing things. It’s because game dev is all about making compromises and finding a middle ground to satisfy as many people as possible not just you.

Laidlaw clearly said in that interview that one big issue they faced was making the game work on current gen and last gen. It’s the reason why some of the mechanics and stuff we saw in the alpha and they talked about in interviews were removed. Those mechanics worked perfectly fine on current gen/PC but didn’t work at all or caused major performance issues on last gen. They were trying to make a game that was enjoyable and fun for as many people/fans of the series as possible and yet we have people like you basically throwing a hissy fit because they didn’t get what they wanted and not giving a damn about other players.

As for post end game content/dialogue, maybe there should’ve been some but seriously how much more content do they need to put in the game before people such as yourself will be happy? You’ve already easily got 60+ hours of stuff to do to keep yourself entertained. There is however a very valid reason as to why the dialogue gets cut off, in past interviews the dev’s have stated that because of the way companion/advisor dialogue works that characters would still talk about Corypheus as if he was alive, as if the red Templars and ventori were still a threat etc. They locked it off because they had no other choice but to; short of completely re-working the dialogue system which was simply not an option nor will it ever be.

As for leaving certain things up to the player, there are two reasons I can think of why they do this. 1. Word budgets. They can’t tell us the life stories of characters and everything that they’ve been up to while also telling a deep and interesting story, it’s just not possible. 2. They know how precious some fans are over personal headcanons. While they assert control over characters when they need to they like to leave things open enough for people to go crazy with it because they know how much we love our PC’s and the characters they interact with and appreciate how creative we fans can be and they don’t want to stifle that.

The Divine chooses the name of the next age...this age was named Dragon, do to one being seeing flying in the sky in a location I cannot remember.

9 Stands for the 9th Age

41 mean its the 41st year in the Age.

And an Age is 100 years,.

so it equals out to 9:41 Dragon

Though, despite this, Zevran is the only LI between DA: O and DA2 who remains by the PC's side and isn't separated by the plot (and possibly death) in DA: I.  It sucks that he's absent save for a few War Table missions, but he has the greatest canon in terms of romance.

He does. To me, it's very in character for him and that romance for him to stay with his Warden.  His romance was great, very moving.  It's an all time favourite for me.

Hmm given that the divine names the age/s I wonder if that means Tevinter has different names for the ages or follows a different calendar altogether or is this one of the only things the two Chantry's agree on?

Just had a funny thought...what if we get the wolf-hunt DLC and it is awesome...with like 15+ hours of learning all kinds of eleven lore and running around in some beautiful new place and some deep and meaningful solas conversations and maybe even the return of Flemeth...and then some great additional dialogue with Cullen and Cass and Leliana and Iron Bull and Dorian...more than we ever hoped for...

Then...we make it to the end, the final piece of the puzzle.  Our fingers numb from mashing buttons, our eyes burning from staring at our screens...and we stand before the door that holds all the secrets...Squeeel!!!

And we think to ourselves, "Yes, here it is...the answers to the big questions...the devs finally gave us all we ever dreamed of!'

And we open the door...and Sandal is standing there.  And he scratches his butt and says "Boom".  And hands us a stone.  And the credits roll.

:P :D :P

I think it's pretty much just become the standard way of describing the years. Though, the Imperial Chantry might keep a different calendar when it comes to religious festivals and holidays.

UGH.  I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL SANDAL IS.

He predicted the Breach, and I think he predicted Solas's return.

He predicted the Breach, and I think he predicted Solas's return.

You know, we have a collection of very unusual people running around. Sandal, Sera, Dagna, Leliana, Solas, possibly a couple of others. We know what Solas is (sort of). But Sandal and Dagna are both obviously unusually gifted. Besides the fact that Sera has taught herself to be an extraordinary archer with no instruction, Solas asks her questions in banter that to me suggest she has some connection to something that she wants to deny. And Leliana had her vision at the beginning of the blight. Throw in Morrigan, her son, Flemeth and Corypheus, and anyone else wonder at the number of possible gods/avatars/god-touched types running around suddenly?

Edit: I agree, but what did Leliana's vision actually portend? The blight, the breach, or something else?

GAH. TOO MANY QUESTIONS.

Re: Sera, I don't think she's some reincarnation of Andruil, but perhaps there really is something more to her.

Re: Leliana, maybe she was touched by a Spirit?

And in regards to other deities running around, I think that Solas didn't necessarily imprison them all. However, I do think Elgarnan was definitely imprisoned as Flemeth mentions that Mythal "was betrayed as I was betrayed". Were both betrayed by a husband, perhaps?

I think that Elgarnan was possibly the one deity that started messing stuff up (infected by the Taint?). Perhaps spread it to several other deities as he kept trying to slay them all? Also, my mind keeps coming back to the:

"For one moment there is an image of a shifting, shadowy mass with blazing eyes, whose form may be one or many. Then it fades." This part of the codex comes right after the part where Mythal sends the one elf who tried to shapeshift into a dragon to Elgarnan for judgment.

As for Sandal...I wonder if he's related to June, the god of crafts. What is Sandal if not a creator of enchantments?

Didn't the spirit at the gauntlet call Leliana out on never having a vision at all, and just making it up for the attention? IIRC she insisted on the story, but that guy was pretty good at calling out beeswax. It does match her lines early in DAI about how she "used to think" she was special, too.
