Bless you, Kieran.
I'm cackling like a maniac now. It's starting to come together!
I only wish we'd gotten a scene with Kieran and Cole, those two would have been dropping non-sequitur knowledge bombs all over Skyhold.

Perhaps the dwarves of the Primeval Thaig weren't "dwarves" as we know them. What if they were actually Titans? What if Titans were the ancient versions of dwarves that could actually utilize forms of magic?
This is crazy
I'm losing my mind now ...
Well, the dwarves are different though in comparison to Tranquil. They still have emotion.
As for non dwarves losing emotions when Tranquil, I would say that the emotions part is perhaps more closely tied to the loss of your dreams. Also, since Tranquility is forced upon a person, that might explain the more violent taking of emotions, versus dwarves who were simply born without a Fade connection.
You know, stating it like this makes me wonder about something else. Why do the tranquil lose all their emotions when they're cut off from the Fade instead of just losing their magic? I mean, if the dwarves are in the same situation, it seems weird. Unless in mages somehow your brain is wired differently and your personality is also tied to your Fade connection/ability to dream.
It's been stated somewhere that dwarves do dream, just not connected to the fade (and somehow differently from humans and elves.) I don't remember the details, but someone quoted the information on the dwarf thread several months ago.

That's one theory. And there are all sorts of theories about Stone, Titans, lyrium, the blight and their lack of magic.

Yes! That would be a riot. I'd like to have seen Cullen meeting Kieran myself. I think he'd have approved of the well-mannered young man but have found him unnerving too.
The thread I post in on another board has begun discussing the possibility of... *drumroll*.... a musical DLC! All singing, all dancing! It sounds completely fantabulous to me, especially since Mr. Ellis is possessed of a fine voice. What kind of song would Cullen sing during such an extravaganza, do you think? A tender ballad like "Love Me Tender"? Something a little more edgy like "Heart-Shaped Box"? Would he take his cue from Sinatra? Dylan? Freddie Mercury? ![]()

Dear God, I would have killed to see that.

On topic meanwhile... all that art of Cullen with a mabari makes me think he definitely needs one? No Fereldan should be without a dog!
I'm just kinda mad we didn't get to sing a song or two at the Winter Palace.
Masquerade, anyone? Forgive me, I have Phantom on the brain.
Oh, fantastic. I'll have Andrew Lloyd Webber songs stuck in my head for hours now...

Surely there are worse things, no?

And I just saw it for the first time on Broadway, so I've got it on the brain.

This is what I meant when I asked if Dagna was perhaps a reincarnation of a Titan some sort (one page back I think).
Time for cute headcanons!
The Warden's mabari was taken away for breeding around the time of Awakening, meaning around the time of Inquisition, their puppies would be just the old enough to have been trained and prepared to bond. Since King Alistair / Queen Anora kind of owe the Inquisition for saving their country and their throne and arguably their lives, what better gift could they offer the Inquisitor and/or her Commander than a fine and sturdy Fereldan war hound, bred from the brave Hero of Ferelden's own bond?
(dead Warden who left her beloved mabari to Alistair's care approves +100, would have done the same if alive to have the chance; every self-respecting Fereldan warrior should fight with a trusted hound by their side!)
(Hawke and Boy approve +100000)
It even works for a Warden Alistair who survived the Fade... kind of a "thanks for saving my life, here's an overgrown slobbery dog who eats like a beast to show my gratitude" gift.
Well, we agree on this, anyway, lol. I gave him a puppy descended from Dog, lol. I'm assuming normal large dog life spans for the mabari.

Or perhaps connecting to them or whatever happened to them in some ways. She has a couple of interesting moments suggesting that when she is creating the red lyrium rune in the Samson quest chain, I think.

You can directly ask him what he'd do if you were possessed (as a mage) and his response is... conflicted. He recognizes that there are complications. Also, he's able to get accustomed to Cole, sort of, in time, so I think he has a degree of open-mindedness and could learn to cope. But it wouldn't be easy.

Singquisition? Yes, please!
Hello. Sorry to interrupt, but I am currently romancing Cullen for the first time and I have had this nagging thought through the whole romance. Please bear with me if it has been asked before, I don't follow this thread so I wouldn't know, so my apologies in advance.
My question is this, what do you think Cullen's response will be if he were to find out the Inquisitor was what the Chantry labels an abomination? Whether your PC is harboring Faith or Purpose, do you think he would be capable of looking past that? I think his initial response would be to question everything about your relationship, especially if you have Purpose, but I honestly don't know if he could ever get past it. What do you guys think?
It's an interesting question! I agree with Tarlonniel's response, that he's open-minded enough to adjust. Particularly if he cares about you. He seems to be a practical enough person where seeing is believing, and if it's like Wynne and Evangeline, the spirit just sorta hangs out in the background and doesn't really manifest or do much. So, if you seem to be capable of managing the presence of the spirit, then I imagine he would trust you to manage it. His comments throughout the game are often of the nature that he'll trust you and support you, even if he wouldn't have made the same choice for himself (taking lyrium, for ex).
So it might be easier for him to adjust to than we think.

I haven't read back, but is this a theory you guys are mulling? That the PC is harboring a spirit of some kind? Via the mark or what?
That's a theory I saw advanced well before the game's release, actually, and there are some folks who still think it might be true. I was half-hoping that would be the game's twist ending - oh well!

Ah. I'd never seen that theory. Interesting. Thanks for sharing!

It can work if you are a mage but what about "normal" people ?

Normal people can still be possessed, it's just easier/more tempting for a demon/spirit to possess a mage.

Exactly. The theory as I heard it - from a troper named Lance Solous/Ink Dagger - was a way to account for the ability of a non-mage to use the mark so easily, for the lack of being able to play your character before the explosion, and for the PC's survival of the blast. It was set up as a similar situation to Wynne's - the PC is saved from death because a spirit comes through the Veil at that exact moment and possesses them. Obviously the developers went a different direction, but I still really like the idea.
Current abomination theories involve Justinia and stuff that happened during the Fade portion of "Abyss"... I'm not really clear on the details.
Hmm yea, but don't you think the inquisitor will be aware that he have a spirit in his body like Wynne / Anders know ?
