Maybe. It probably depends on how much the spirit decides to... "speak up"? News had leaked out that the Inquisitor was suffering from some form of amnesia, so that seemed like a convenient explanation for why they might not notice a difference. If the above scenario HAD taken place, I assume that, over the course of the game, the PC would've slowly realized that something funny was going on. Maybe gotten some confusing looks and comments from Cole ![]()

Hmm yea, but don't you think the inquisitor will be aware that he have a spirit in his body like Wynne / Anders know ?
Not necessarily, the spirit could be very weak or not made itself known or it could be similar to the relationship between Flemeth and Mythal where they are essentially one and the same, there’s no clear defined line where the inquisitor ends and the spirit begins like there is in the case of Anders and Justice.

But Wynne know that she's going to die (or she don't have much time left) because the spirit is "dying", so you think the inquisitor can't feel it ?
not made itself known
For that i'm ok with it. ![]()

You know, stating it like this makes me wonder about something else. Why do the tranquil lose all their emotions when they're cut off from the Fade instead of just losing their magic? I mean, if the dwarves are in the same situation, it seems weird. Unless in mages somehow your brain is wired differently and your personality is also tied to your Fade connection/ability to dream.
See, I'm starting to think they don't lose their emotions as such. Remember in Redcliffe, you can recruit a tranquil mage and he says he doesn't want to die? To me, if he wasn't able to feel emotion then he wouldn't have a fear of dying. I don't know, maybe it isn't really a fear and just a sense of self preservation but isn't that also an emotion of sorts? It made me think that maybe they don't lose their emotions entirely but they are more flat. They can't feel anything to a heightened degree but they do still feel. Unless it was just a slip up in the writing of that NPCs dialogue. *shrugs*

That goes back to DAO, actually. During Broken Circle, if you finish one fight quickly enough, a couple of tranquil mages survive and make comments about that being uncomfortable, and the one in charge of the stock room makes a similar remark.

Yes, Owain. He says that he would prefer not to die. Again, if he couldn't feel anything then he wouldn't have a preference. Death would be nothing to him, the same as living.

True but I’d argue this is because Wynne is a spirit healer, lore says that mages who have this ability are more attuned to spirits so it would make sense that Wynne would be able to sense stuff like that whereas another mage may not. A non-mage definitely wouldn't be able to tell if a spirit is hiding in their mind because spirits are something completely alien to them, they'd probably think they were just going mad or something until maybe Solas or someone else pointed it out. Also the spirit may not be dying like it was in Wynne’s case so it could behave/feel different. It’s a shame the dev’s didn't go down this path actually, it would've made things a little more interesting I think.
It reminds me of the cut content to do with the envy demon from Therinfal, originally our quizzes were to suffer from side effects from it's attempted possession.

Yeah, the Tranquil still have preferences and like the comfort of what is familiar. Like Tishina mentioned, Owain from the stock room in DA: O during Broken Circle remains there tidying up, despite the obvious danger, because it is familiar. He still has the basic survival instinct and says he would prefer not to die and would prefer for things to go back to normal. He doesn't necessarily experience fear, but rather discomfort with the unfamiliarity of the chaos and being endangered. The Tranquil also prefer to remain useful and productive, which Owain was doing by still doing his job or the Tranquil in Redcliffe wanted to do by serving the Inquisition.
Going off on a tangent here, but I'm reminded of the conversation with Owain during the Mage Origin where the Warden has the option to say that he's no longer a person because he doesn't have any emotions. Owain responds by asking why he should be denied personhood for simply feeling differently, and that he still functions as a human. I guess it could be argued that the Tranquil have different emotions, instead of lacking them?

Maybe it's the mid afternoon margaritas talking (75 degrees in Chicago in March) but conversations like these are why I love this thread.

Well, we agree on this, anyway, lol. I gave him a puppy descended from Dog, lol. I'm assuming normal large dog life spans for the mabari.
I gave Cullen one of Barkspawn's pups (with compliments from King Alistair and condolences from Queen Anora
), and a promise from Hawke that, should a Noodlet happen between Cullen and the Inquisitor, she'll give the tyke one of Boy's future pups too. A half-Fereldan Noodlet is still at least half Fereldan, after all! ![]()
I like how, by Word of Gaider, a mabari's average lifespan is "as long as the plot needs it to be" - we can stretch that for as long as we want and say Dog is still strong and kicking, and it's totally canon for now.

The thread I post in on another board has begun discussing the possibility of... *drumroll*.... a musical DLC! All singing, all dancing! It sounds completely fantabulous to me, especially since Mr. Ellis is possessed of a fine voice. What kind of song would Cullen sing during such an extravaganza, do you think? A tender ballad like "Love Me Tender"? Something a little more edgy like "Heart-Shaped Box"? Would he take his cue from Sinatra? Dylan? Freddie Mercury?
I think he would go all Disney prince on the Inquisitor and declare his love ![]()
Even if they don't make Singquisition he does need to sing to the quizzy though. Chantry song , anything, I need to see this. Greg has a beautiful voice and we only heard a bit of it.

True! But I actually meant in terms of breeding cycles in calculating that Cullen's pup was the great grandson of Dog (Stoika in this case) from DAO. ![]()

Well, if we are going to start posting the songs that we think Cullen should sing then I am going to with this, for the lolz:

No, it's just a one-off question here... But apparently others have considered it before. I haven't.I haven't read back, but is this a theory you guys are mulling? That the PC is harboring a spirit of some kind? Via the mark or what?

In a complete non sequitur, Master Dennet is an old perv. I though Jim was bad when Cullen tries to kiss you; Dennet was squatting down right behind Blackwall's back... ![]()

I could actually see Dennet there in the kiss cutscene, but I was laughing too hard to think to get a screenshot. Of course, Blackwall apparently is even more of an exhibitionist than Cullen; he insists on kissing my rogue outside the barn where all the rogue trainers and everyone at the merchants can watch... ![]()

I saw one on Nexus but it was for white and yellow armor-not my cup of tea. Mmmm tea.

[mister_temp] doesn't actually refer to Jim, sadly. It shows up in most conversation files. My best guess is that it's there to give extra time for animations between lines of dialogue. Not positive, though. Poor Jim's just [cul_main_messenger_1]. ![]()
EDIT: Found and added an indoor screenshot of the fur retexture.

I thought it was feathers only because real fur dynamics don't really work in that shaggy-piled way. Like whatever dead thing is on his shoulders has really long, thick fur. And bear fur isn't even that long?
