It was the first Disney movie I've ever seen too. I watched the video cassette of it (and I think I still own that cassette at home)... Ah! The old memories!!

The truth is, this is my fourth attempt in penning something — anything — to you and all I have done so far is make myself look completely and utterly incapable of expressing any well thought out string of discussion in the written form.

Wait, no, I don’t mean to call writing to you a task. It isn’t a task, at all. It’s — I enjoy it. Writing to you that is. It’s not a task.

Did you know that the horse Master Dennet gave me literally disappears? It just walks off, as soon as I dismount from the bloody thing. I turn around, and it is gone. Thank the Maker the thing comes back when I whistle. Sera finds it hilarious, of course. But she also finds it hilarious to place slugs on my bed roll.

Cullen, I have a confession to make. You see, one day when I was curious about someone, curious enough to try and understand them better, I may or I may not have helped them slip something beneath one of the legs of your desk. Though I have to admit, I did have a bit of a giggle every time you glared down at your desk because it was a bit wobbly.

I just thought I would take the opportunity to tell you now, while I’m not at Skyhold and you can’t give me the same glare you bestow upon your desk.

Lol well yes, me too (although I think I can see Cullen throwing out a dedication ballad to IQ if he could muster enough courage.) But everyone was on about musical Inquisition. And if there's a wedding, with all those characters together, Shrek is totally how I see it going down.

 

I kind of see Cullen as more of a civil ceremony ---   Just remembered he's religious...Hmm. Well I can't see him wanting a big ceremony is all.

I also love the original as I have a huge ass crush on Prince Philip.  Besides, once I had a son, the Disney films that contain dudes with actual lines and personalities stand out to me.

 

Philip was the best prince, so charming and charismatic. 

 

I think he's too forward and extraverted for me to compare him to Cullen, but they at least have adorableness in common.

Varric: That is all we need, little Commanders and Inquisitors running around Skyhold. Let me off you some advice, Curly: Keep them far from Cassandra otherwise you'll be consoling your kids more then giving orders to the soldiers.

Sera: (snorts then laughs): I think we got his knickers all bunched up in embarrassment wrapped in blushiness, Varric.

So, I am starting to think Jim may be related to/friend with Cullen. He is the only one outside of the inner circle who would call Cullen Cullen (except for Rion from DAMP. He is a mage who hates templars so it is understandable). Unless this person is Jim clone #257 instead of the real Jim.

 

Which makes me wonder: what kind of commander do you think Cullen is? A friendly/strict/soft-hearted one? I find it hard to image him chatting with the recruits casually. He is so professional and duty bound and usually shown to be ordering them in a commanding tone from various scenes. Even in his free time, he would prefer to work more. I don't think he has time to befriend the soldiers. But yet he seems to be lenient towards the recruits as shown in the DAMP notices (planning casual fridays, giving beer to the outstanding agents, organising barbecue party etc.) He seems to be the least intimitating among the leaders.

 

People would call Leliana: sister Leliana, sister/lady Nightingale and Nightingale; Josephine: Lady/Ambassador Montilyet, Lady ambassador; Cass: Lady Cassandra, (lady) Seeker. Only Cullen is referred as Cullen (alongside with Commander (Cullen), General Cullen, Knight-captain/commander and Inquisition officer).

I don't think you killed the thread I think people just went to sleep lol. I think as much as Cullen loves to work, I bet he's a disciplined commander but at the same time he know what it's like to be a subordinate? And he understand his soldiers so while he may not goof around with them (he'd probably think he 'has' to act like a leader) I'm sure he's friendly enough with them.

This is something we've talked about briefly. I think about Varric's comment about Cullen having pics of all his soldiers in his back pocket or whatever, which makes me think that it's known that he cares about his men quite a lot. I doubt he's really informal and chummy with them, but I imagine him being the sort of commander who tries to know folks by name. That his men know he works that hard because he's working to keep them safe. Also, given the casual Friday's and his forebearance with Rylen's cheekiness, I imagine him also letting his subtle snarky side come out when dealing with his soldiers. That together with the fact that he's not a noble but more like "one of them," I could see him being the kind of commander with the common touch (hmm... now who does THAT sound like?? ).
