Yea I remember talking a lot to Rylen because of Cullen... :D
It's too bad we don't have Rylen-Cullen direct convo, it'll be interesting. Rylen was a templar too...

They interact via letters on the War Table.

Sifr, I so miss you when you're being quiet on here, you remind me of a couple I know who met each other at a gaming convention...in a pun dungeon. Twenty odd years later, they still leave everyone else in awe (or pain, depending on how bad the puns are :P )

I know, I keep losing track of time while trying to start new playthroughs. I have the feeling that in the electronic aether, Evelyn Trevelyan is wearing out the floor pacing while waiting for me to return to finish the Cullenmance... especially since she's not even gotten a snog off him yet.

Wait, there are pun dungeons in gaming conventions... why did no-one tell me? I feel like I'm missing out on a snarky, nerdy single's scene?

Well, it's the only one I've heard of, I don't even remember what kind of campaign it was, probably some futuristic GURPS campaign since one of them doesn't care much for the fantasy S&S type games. It was just before I met them, so I don't know much more than that and which con they were at (a small one that used to be known for quirky events.)

Well back in haven they had a lot less forces right? Like they were still a baby organization. So he probably was a lot more involved than post skyhold. Because ya I remember talking to him in haven and he would make direct comments about the mens' training. When he first joined I'm sure he knew it would be like that. And once they were at skyhold and had an actual standing army he could assume the role he originally joined for - overseeing the big operation. And they had morepeople to fill other roles like trainers etc. But because he was familiar with everyone from haven he might have a better relationship with some of the troops because of that? That's my guess anyway.

Plus he's got his own office now so office trumps barracks and the sparring arena.

Oh! I like this interpretation! I found it hard to imagine Cullen and his men are good friends as he is a private kind of guy. But when there were fewer men at Haven, they can actually bond well!! The recruits pierce through Cullen's disciplinary shell and see he really cares about them. Then they spread the words to the new soldiers when they arrived at Skyhold. Cullen wins their loyalty and he repays them by organising different events for them to relax.

Weird as this may sound, I actually picture him with a sidekick... The one who's not afraid of showing a softer side of the commander, a lighthearted fellow who understand him well, who told & explain to people that actually Cullen cares a lot when someone complain about him being harsh... Someone he trusts & have a strong bond with. Someone who can cover for him from time to another when he's got other matter on hand (like, well, we've said there's good day & bad day no?)

You know, the kind of pairing often told in stories with one rather straight-laced serious guy & the more lighthearted/ a bit softer sidekick.

I vote Jim the secretary to be his sidekick!

I finally decided to try my hand at creating a male character, and apparently like to make things difficult for myself because I went with a qunari rogue first (to romance Dorian). Better than I hoped, actually, though I'd like to tone down his lip and eye color slightly (I may change my mind when I get him to Haven) and his scars are a little too subtle.

And to keep it on topic, it'll be interesting to see if the interactions with Cullen are different with a male IQ than with a female dwarf. I wonder what his private attitude toward a merc would be. He seems to respect IB's mercs.

Ah I love seeing everyone's IQs ^^ I've yet to see an unsightly one that someone hadn't purposefully tried to make as ugly as possible rofl.

I had been planning on all these different PTs once I finish my first one, but now I'm kinda mulling the option of just rerolling my first IQ....To experience it all again. Has anyone done that? I mean I want to try different gender and classes and romances but.....but Cullen.

I'm actually about to wrap up Cole's quest and I'm not sure what to do.... I knew about the quest but....halp.

Do what makes you happy. Some people reload a save from their PT near the start and replay from there; some people try to recreate the exact same IQ. There's nothing wrong at all with playing the same romance twice in a row, though maybe change class or race to get new dialogue options, side with the templars if you sided with mages or vice versa?

Me, I like very different PTs, including IQs who look distinctly different from each other and have very different romances. Actually, I tend to have staggered simultaneous PTs, I have a lvl 20 Solasmancer, a lvl 16 Cullenmancer, a lvl 12 wallclimber, and a lvl 9 who is a future Cassmancer. I won't really start playing this new qunari much until I finish the Solas PT; I just had the urge to play with the CC tonight. My oldest daughter jokes that I've made alt-itis a workable strategy; I find it's been particularly effective for me with DAI because of how long the game is. If I decide I really love one of the romances, I just start a new IQ in the rotation for that romance when I finish the current one, and I'll still have three other romances in progress.

Not sure what to tell you about Cole. My general reaction is to make him more human, but my first PT, I made him more spirit because she assumed Solas knew best.

Ah thanks for your pov. I might reload afterwards just to do the mages questline (sided with templars) and see the extra Cullen-ness, and then play around with other IQs.

Yea I ended up going with more human, Solas seemed almost too insistent for my tastes and Varric was all chill about everything. So I went with the kumbaya let's work this out, approach. Human side felt more learning process as opposed to a done deal.

Well, Mel said not too long ago, if you have an Nvidia card it comes with free video software called: Shadowplay.

I use Bandicam...but you have to pay $30.00 for a license.

What happens toyour romances after you complete the game? I know you can finish side quests, but do you still get to have kisses from Cullen? I think Bioware should add on options with an extension! I don't want to finish the game!

Depends on who you romance.

Cullen and your Inquisitor are locked in a romance...death till you part.

Once the game's main story is completed Cullen and the rest can no longer be interacted with. They will give you a bit of dialogue when you click on them and it can change, but other then that nothing.

Yes, I and many like you wished there was more with the game after you completed the main story and the inner circle was not locked out of conversation.

Mike hinted that he heard the fans "cries" about wanting more with characters. Thus he is hoping before they are officially done with DAI, there could be more added in to give characters a sense of closure. Maybe.

It's probably something you see him quickly trying turn off the music but only ends up turning up the volume and then you know claims it's "research" or something...

I can easily imagine him being the type to quickly shove what he's trying to hide into his desk draw...and doing a very poor job of it lol

It's a good thing that the scene with the Femquisitor on the desk cut to black... in my mind, Cullen's uncharacteristic bravado was immediately rewarded with him realising that the vigorous movement of the desk was causing his drawer filled with adult magazines to keep opening, forcing him to try and subtly keep it shut, without the Femquisitor noticing?

Cullen's the sorta guy who who's a magnet for those kind of awkward situations...
