I've got a lore question for you guys. So we know what happened with Cullen when he was tortured by the desire demon more or less. But he wasn't possessed right. Is there any indication as to what happens to non mages when they're possessed? I tried looking it up but it only said that they look for multiple suicides with like despair demons to know if theres possession involved. It also basically said it isn't the person's fault so it can happen to anyone I guess. So is it like the stereotypical possession that we normally think of? Like influence or is it pure mind control. And do we know if there's any chance of a cure? I know with mages there's the litany or something. I'm asking for a potential story I may or may not write....
There's a whole quest on this in DA2 (I can't remember if you played it already or not), that involved Cullen and Keran, where mages were putting demons into templars. So you could read up on that (Enemies Among Us).
Not necessarily, remember in DAO we found elven ruins underground. Companions even commented on it saying that it was odd and wondering if at one point the elves lived underground like the dwarves and some of the tech they use seems very similar to elven technology/magic, so there could be a connection but right now there isn’t much evidence to go on.
I thought this was explained as the survivors of Arlathan sought sanctuary from the dwarves at some point, not that they're related by blood/pantheon/whatever.

Unless it just means the DLC isn't post-game content.

Oh my bad was thinking of the Hissing Wastes.
Yes go there and just collect some.
I could, but I am not at the point in the story to go there, and if I do I would be inclined to stay and do quests...but if he doesn't bring me some soon I will have to I think. Need to get my specialisation.
It's ok....I'm sending Cullen there instead now lol, good man just brought me 6 and he's out again.

There are screenshots with the achievements here if anyone's curious: http://www.xboxachie...e/achievements/
Mmmm, the screenies are tantalizing. Every thing about ancient times screams Solas to me. But maybe that's my wishful thinking talking. And my lonely bed. ![]()
Holycow, what if we get to find out what really happened to Mythal and the elven gods? Maybe the myth we'll dispel is what really happened to the gods, and Fen'harel's role?? pleasepleaseplease

Could be I can’t remember, also I’m not saying they are related by blood or anything, more along the lines that the dwarves may have absorbed certain tech and stuff into their culture or elves gave them it as compensation for sheltering them or something.
Basically I’m thinking that a lot of the stuff that exists in modern thedas is based on elven tech/religion/culture, sort of how most if not all tech in the Mass Effect universe is based on the reapers. Meh my mind has gone to some weird places and come up with weird theories waiting for DLC.
Also Solas on the DLC poster makes me think this DLC is maybe supposed to take place during the events of DAI rather than post-ending.

I wonder how a romanced Inq will take the news of him being Fen'Harel, if she finds out. I mean she's grown up with horror stories about him, how he tricked his way between the 2 god clans.
Will she trust what she has experienced with him, or will she think it was just him being deceiving and pulling the wool over her eyes as she has been brought up to believe about him.
I say romanced as she gets to see more of him but even a non romanced Inq would have a hard job in knowing what to believe.
Interesting...

Bah. With a name like "DA:I Jaws of Hakkon" and reading up on Hakkon Wintersbreath, one of the lead Avvar gods... this will only include Fen'harel and the elves if there happens to be that tenuous connection between elves and the Avvar. Otherwise... pfft. Just more Avvar lore. Which is cool! unless you're waiting breathlessly for Solas resolution. ![]()

I see fic sometimes that have her figure it out, which I find plausible. She's already had the rug pulled out from underneath her with the Vallaslin. I can't help but wonder if this would just be more of the same. I wonder what would be harder to believe: your boyfriend is a god... or that your gods aren't really gods after all...

Well there is an elf with vallaslin in some of the DLC images being posted on various gaming sites but I can't really tell if it's a new character or an elven inquisitor. The armour he's wearing looks similar to the inquisitors armour but at the same time it doesn't.

This is true, she is already learning things she thought she knew weren't the way she thought they were. I guess having Corypheus reiterating that the markings were slave markings give credence to what Solas has told her. Whoa yeah but talk about a head****! Falling in love with an ancient elven god, but not any ancient elven god but the 'bad' one. LOL I'm guessing that's something she's not taking home to tell the rest of the clan.

It might be the inquisitor posing for a pic while avoiding the dragon in the back! ![]()

I think it's a given that all of the cultures have absorbed bits of the others; people don't live in isolation and culture isn't static. Dwarves have definitely influenced surface cultures too so it goes both ways. I was just referring to the religion of the dwarves, too.
sorry, I'm on a tablet and can't use smileys, in case the fact I was teasing about the dwarves didn't come through.

Damn, having Solas in the art worries me a lot. I really don't see him coming back to work with the Inquisition, much less as a party member. So that means it could very well not be post-game, which would really ****** me off.

So this DLC is about an Avaar lord, right? Do they have any major connections to ancient elves?
I'm so annoyed right now being on PS4, but them's the breaks.

Haven't all of their initial DLC's been during the game, though? They already said they aren't doing expansions. If they do a DLC post game I'm sure it would be the final release.

Technically yes, but I want it to be past the endgame though. I want this to already have Solas out there doing Dread Wolfy things. I don't want them alluding to it while he's sitting in my party and I already know what he is.
