He does have a great voice and so does the guy who does Rylen's  voice.

Rylen. Yum. Would love to see more of him, too, since he's also a hoot.

Hmm so reactions to the DLC seemed to be mixed right now so remember people, temper expectations. It sounds like this DLC may have been based on content cut from the game which if true could turn out to be a good thing as this could mean that they’re working on other more story/companion heavy DLC while finishing off this one for release.

Good to know. Yeah, this is also my suspicion based on the topic. And the cast list. Still, more is more! Some of the best ambient banter for DA2 was in the DLCs.

I wonder if it'll take longer for modders to update everything since bioware is fully aware they're modding and spidey sense says they don't like it!!

Nope we’ve been discussing this in the mod tools forum. Bioware are not deliberately mucking things up and making the game harder to mod, it’s just that their pipeline isn’t modding friendly. Unless a games pipeline is designed from the start to support mods there will be problems when it comes to modding because we're doing something it was never designed to allow.

not sure I'm a fan of the cut content concept, that's always been dangerous for Bioware and im thinking javik. Maybe the same thing was thought of Shale? They just so obviously fit right into the world and main plot that there was outrage we'd have to pay more for it.

I don't know if I'd feel outrage with dAI though, just because there already is so much content and they clearly ran out of time, $ or all of the above as evident in the abrupt ending scene.... $15 is a but much imo tho...

I'm just not too keen on the idea of them charging for content that was originally planned to be in the game anyways. More story content? Sure, take my money, but this sounds like it's just another zone with area quests (like the Hinterlands).

At least it will give more screenshot subjects - if I can ever dl it!

I have every confidence you guys will figure it out. I just hope it's soon!

Oh I love Rylen, he has the same kind of dry sense of humour as Cullen, must be a requirement for Templars to get them through the day. I look forward to reading his reports every pt, I never tire of them, and to finally meet him at griffon wing. I laugh every time I hear him say, 'After Kirkwall....exploded'!

I think they love it actually, I remember reading...I think it was Gaider or could have been Laidlaw say they welcome modding as it keeps the game alive and fresh for when they bring out additional content.

I'm sure the team would have been happy to release a tool kit like they dud for origins, except that EA (or possibly D.I.C.E. specifically) doesn't want that, so madders have to do it the hard way. It takes a lot of dedication and curiosity to pull code apart and then try to put it back together, imho.

Thank you! I love Rhiannon so much - I'm totally going completionist on her playthrough because I don't want to give her up!

I'm going to speedrun to the end of the game just so I can get templar footage for you guys and then will reload before the "point of no return" so that I can keep going with her.

You know, I never bought any DLC for ME 3... I only played through the game once, despite my having three characters ready. I have the feeling the same might happen with DA 3. I haven't touched the game since early Feb. And Pillars of Eternity is coming out on Thurs, so I will probably be playing that during my spare time (the precious little that I have). I wonder if they will offer the DLC on sale at some point? Origin is not as great as Steam when it comes to that, however. Ah, well...

Oh man, you should really consider buying Citadel for ME3. It's amazing - lots of content with your companions and LI, and also an awesome nemesis. Really funny, too. There's also a fighting arena in it if that's your thing.

Why is Cullen still referred to as a Knight-Commander?

Hasn't he left the templars for good?

He is only referred to that in Haven at the beginning (out of habit I guess), and he corrects the templar for calling him that saying he's not with the order anymore. He can also be called Knight-Captain if you had a certain outcome in DA2.

Umm... That does not seems to be post-game :(

Well too bad, I'll be playing it after finishing all those WIPs. No motivation to play anything except post-main story campaign...

Anyway, I'm glad...

There are games like Skyrim & Oblivion where there's lots of modders who creates awesome amount of extra-contains for free. Skyrim's Moonpath to Elseweyr add at least 1/4 total Skyrim open area (to say, very huge), in addition to new monsters & story quest. Then there's total Skyrim Conversion like Enderal that'll be out this year, Nehrim in Oblivion, etc. I forgot the name of one but there's this mod who also add insane amount of awesome story content.

Too bad I don't think that we'll ever have them in DA:I... If not imagine the story people can add. See how many good fanfics out there? And not all are about romances, some are serious lore & adventure stories that can be inserted into vanilla.

Indeed. EA for some reason are very anti-modding which is something I just do not understand. Modding increases the life span of games by years, I'm still seeing new mods everyday for Skyrim and that came out what 4 nearly 5 years ago? And it’s not like they couldn't monetize it, Valve have made a small fortune off DOTA 2 mods after all.

It would be amazing, totally agree! Skyrim is a modder's playground, and it was a great chance for non-modders to learn and create stuff. I made a square room once and called it my cozy cave :P

Not sure how anti-modding EA actually is, or if it's just the nature of Frostbite, but fans can take a character or events and make amazing things happen, some things that should've been in the vanilla world or can hardly be distinguished from it. Perhaps that's the risk? we see it when a plot twist occurs (or doesn't occur) and as emotionally invested fans, we (not necessarily us on this thread!) think we could do better than the writers themselves. When we can start modding games and making a world customized for us, our emotional investment skyrockets, and new content from the developers themselves could pale in comparison.

How many of us are siked about wolf hunt, especially solasmancers, and have a teeny tiny bit of fear that we'll be sorely disappointed? And more cullen, of course!! But if new content does come out, will it even be nearly as awesome as the fan content we've read?

Devil's advocate here but should modding be saved for when ALL game content is released by devs so fans don't go bonkers in rebellion when something doesn't meet their expectations. Temper that emotional investment, if you will....

Edit: wow that was a really long post...sorry

Cullen!

Good points, but no, I don't think modders should wait, especially for cosmetic mods. There is no good game reason that players should be forced to run around in PJs made out of undyed cloth or have to settle for crappy hairstyles with tattoos clipping across them and eyebrows from a horror movie, etc. If someone wants pink or green hair, why not (hair dyes predate the Romans?) As for most changes to the story, I don't see how waiting makes any particular difference to that either. Added story content might be a different matter, but that's also the most difficult change to add. If they don't start now, how long after they actually say there will be no more content (which could be months after the last release) would it be before the modders had anything? It's taken the devs four months to have out material that was apparently supposed to be in the vanilla game (and it's still not out for everyone); I think the modders are the best chance of keeping people interested while they work on more content which will make that work financially worthwhile enough to keep them producing it.

As much as I'd love a Wolf Hunt, considering what seems to be in the DLC (which looks fascinating, don't get me wrong), I'm not holding my breath; I'm not sure this is the part of fandom that they're taking seriously.

Just look at what happened to The Sims which I want to say was their flagship product for years. Sims 2 was a modders paradise and the modders made a ton of money on it because there was a demand for custom content and people were willing to pay. There are gamers still playing the second one solely because of the mods. And then 3 came and they completely cut it off. EA tried to add more customization options but it was a far cry from what was achievable in 2. I haven't played 4 but I'm pretty sure modding is still a no-go. I'd say EA just wants more money but as people have mentioned most if not all of skyrim's stuff is free. I can only guess they just want to "protect" their properties from....creativity?

I never switched to Sims 3 for that reason. Didn't seem much point since the customization was the main attraction. It's a popular marketing model, but I have to wonder if they realize how much business they lose from people who won't touch that model. I don't actually think that's what is going on with DAI, though; I think they're just patching and assuming the modders will get things to work.

Yes, has he left the templars and so he's officially called the Commander of the Inquisition, or Former Knight-Commander/Knight-Captain. Some templars and mages from his past slip up, like the dudes he corrects in Haven that Thane mentioned or Maddox later on, and use his templar title presumably out of habit.

sadly... ^this.

Then again, MLaw mentioned two things they know the fans want: more exploration and more character resolution. I guess this DLC is just focused on the first?? Ideally, that means the second still lies in our future!! :R2 polishes the skepticism off her crown of hopefulness:
