Oh Maker some of these responses…
Has it ever crossed anyones minds that the reasons why developers never talk to us is because they can’t?
There is a **** tonne of red tape and legal mumbo jumbo in game dev and you’re always walking a very thin line when it comes to NDA’s. I imagine dev’s would love to talk to fans about the stuff they're working on but they wouldn’t really be able to talk about/show anything or answer questions fans have in a satisfactory way without risking their jobs.

Vivienne a voice for moderate mages? Really. How about she is a voice for reactionary mages. Yeesh Mark...
Vivienne's not actually reactionary in the socio-political context of the term - if elected Divine, or Grand Enchanter under Divine Cassandra, she exacts changes in the Chantry and Circle system that are far too dissenting for what the contemporary "reactionary" label would encompass. She could fit a classic counter-revolutionary axis, but in general terms Vivi really is just moderate conservative. She's certainly far more moderate than Wynne, for instance, who is one mage I think "reactionary" applies much better to.
Be that as it may, she was a necessary voice in the game. We have the figure of an anti-establishment Templar in Cullen, so the figure of a pro-status quo mage in Vivienne is good counter-balance to keep the discourse in check for both of them (mirroring the discourse balance between Wynne and Alistair in DAO).

((out of likes
)) Truly, all of her dialogue was pretty exemplary. That poem spooked me in the best way, and her sense of poetry informed most of her lines. They managed to pack tremendous significance into that one little NPC.
Another one I really enjoyed in the Deep Roads was Ruck. My heart just ached for him.
Yaassssssssss. Hespith had some of the best dialogue in DAO. And her final words before she died were awesome.
Not to mention how deliciously scary it was to hear Hespith's poem the first time. ::shudder::
I loved and hated the deep roads. Loved because I'm a huge dwarf fan and love dwarven lore, etc., and I particularly loved the archdemon flying past you, the Legion of the Dead, and the entire last section after you found Branka. Hated because there were some pretty long stretches that were just slug fests that got boring.
Hespith seriously creeped me out, and that's when I decided that all of my wardens would make their LIs promise to make certain they died when they went into the deep roads for their Calling. I wondered how much the Legion and Dwarven leaders knew about the brood mothers, etc.

Um. The point is that they used to talk to us here and no longer do. So, it's not that it hasn't occurred to us. It's that it's not likely to be true.

omg, Viv will have a fit when she finds out what they used her hat for... I think it's probably the mabari, they have more a "Oh, cute puppy!" look than "omg, he's gorgeous!" look.

Um no, it could quite easily be the case. Both EA and Bioware have gone through management changes over the past few years, either could cause a shift in how fan/dev relations are dealt with. At the studio I work at we used to be able to freely talk to fans on our personal forums too, after a change in management however if we wanted to say anything related to projects we were working on we had to go through about 8 different offices and get approval from a stupid amount of people. Due to that we stopped talking to fans because usually someone in management would take issue with us talking to fans about unannounced projects and how it could leave us legally liable or wonder if it was even necessary for us to talk to fans.

ARE YOU KIDDING?! The Deep Roads was the best map of DAO! I loved that epic sense of being underground trying to make your way through age old caverns. I felt like I was in freaking Moria!
I have fond memories of the Deep Roads too. It was where Alistair gave me the rose for the first time. Now it's the only place I allow that scene to activate. You know that big cave with all the darkspawn and the ogre? That's the place, right outside the entrance to the next part.

6. Confirm again that LIs will never be LIs again (which means you better give my Lavellan some Solas closure!!!! :shakes angry fist: )
Meaning...any DLCs after this there wont be LIs for Inquisition? Say it aint so ![]()
I could get this if it wasnt a DLC for DA:I (cant have other characters romancing cullen!). But given the disappointing lack of LI interaction in the current DLC, Im hoping Im reading this wrong lol.

I'm not sure what I think you mean, but what they mean is that if characters like Cullen, Isabela and Zevran appear in future games, the player won't be able to romance them in those games. Just like we can't romance Leliana, Morrigan or Alistair in DAI because they were already romanceable in DAO.

Thats understandable. I thought the previous quote meant no LI updates/interaction or anything in any upcoming DA:I DLCs. That would be a sad day. and an angry day. But mostly sad.

Yeah, what PC said. Sorry I wasn't clear; they've said this in the past about past LIs as well.
I would be very surprised if we don't get at least some new romance banter in the DA:I DLCs, like we got in Legacy and MotA.
Not sure if we'll get actual romance content, but the DLCs are the only way we would have of resolving certain romance story lines (*cough*Solas*cough*). Future games will have a different protagonist and the DAI LIs won't ever be romanceable again. So, it's DLC or nothing. ![]()

Yes, especially because of a certain Delilah and Alin I want to know wtf is happening, that huge "WTF WHAT IS HE WHAT HE DOES WHAT IS SHE WHAT SHE DOES" thing that we see after the credit roll off. I blame you and Arty, I really do. ![]()
Now we need DLC for you guys to finish those stories ![]()
And I don't need additional tears right now & not masochist like you guys so I'll stay with Curly Cully for my own Luthiel Lavellan. ![]()
Alright Bioware, we need DLC which:
1. Have more LIs & companion content. Something like Hearthfire or Citadel would be nice (for me I like Hearthfire tbh)
2. Have resolution of a certain Wolf & his old friend. A Wolf Hunt, or at least about that huge questions of the post-ending.
3. Have a good story, I'd like about the Red Lyrium, or Origin of Darkspawn, or GRIFFONS Grey Wardens

I do miss the devs casually hanging out in the bsn. Even just to come here to answer mundane things, like if they were food, Leliana would be a cinnamon bun and Alistair strawberries (I think he was strawberries and cream?)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Glad I was at least around for that period of time.
also Scout Harding for DA4 please bioware.

Yes! She would make an incredible companion/LI, snarky-funny, deadly, and a dwarf.
Edit: Speaking of her, I found this: Spoilers for DLC, but Harding mentions Cullen (plus funny interaction with IB):

Given the success of the Citadel DLC I doubt they’d completely forgo LI/Companion content. We may not get an entire DLC centred around it however but I suppose it depends on how they wish to leave things with the inquisitor. Giving them and their LI/companions a nice send off ala Citadel would help appease a lot of people who want to keep playing as their quizzie in the next game, though admittedly I’m not entirely convinced we won’t be playing as them again. It seems a bit silly to not use them and there are plenty of ways they could hand wave the whole having to start over again from scratch with regards to abilities. Not to mention I find it hard to believe that they would be able to do the plot line to do with Solas and the elven gods justice in a DLC.
