They've already reiterated that each new game will have a new protagonist.
Have they said that recently? Must have missed that since the last time I heard them say that was back during DA2. Also plans can change but they’ll ultimately do what is best for the story they want to tell. I’m not fussed either way it’s just right now it seems that it would be more work to create a new protagonist than just stick with the inquisitor.

Honestly, I hope they stick with the IQ. I would love to see how the story plays out between the IQ and a certain person who disappears at the end of the game. To me, there's just too much there to be handled via DLC.

Hmm just read the kotaku thing from yesterday. They didn’t explicitly say they’re going to make a new protagonist in future, probably too early for them to be thinking about DA4 right now anyway, just that new protagonists allowed them more freedom with certain past choices like whose alive or dead and stuff like that. Interestingly they did mention the idea of playing as multiple protagonists which would be cool. Could be a good way of ending the stories of certain characters/protagonists and setting up new ones without alienating people.

Every time they talk about Dragon Age it's to say that it is the story of the world, not of an individual. They compare it to the Mass Effect world and how they don't follow that model. They've said it a lot recently, and certainly in the lead up to DA:I's release. Could they change their mind? Surely. But their answer on this topic has been pretty consistent so far. This is one of the reasons, for example, that they won't be repeating LIs in later games, because they don't want to create a situation where your new character is creeping on your old character's love interest.

Yeah, I would love it if they'd revisit the idea of an expansion. I know they've said in the past that the profit margins were too slim or whatever but given that Inquisition was their most successful launch ever, etc., maybe the demand is high enough.
As for the thing yesterday, I was totally delighted that Aaryn Flynn answered the question I wanted to ask but considered too obnoxious (and he answered even though nobody asked it!): OK, you can't tell us when the DLC will be out on other platforms, but can you tell us when you'll be able to tell us? Even if it doesn't turn out to be next week, sounds like that news is something to look forward to soonish.
I'd be ludicrously excited for the Dwarves / Deep Roads DLC if not for that hint coming alongside what does sound to me like near-confirmation we won't see the Warden. I guess better that than hearing "Deep Roads!", assuming it would resolve her story, and not finding out til playing it that she's not involved.

I do miss the devs casually hanging out in the bsn. Even just to come here to answer mundane things, like if they were food, Leliana would be a cinnamon bun and Alistair strawberries (I think he was strawberries and cream?)

I do not care if I never see my Warden or Hawke again. I reely, really don't. I can imagine that they ended happy ever after. Or didn't. Or whatever. Honestly, I do not want to fear that in the next BW game I buy, they will destroy my heart and ruin the LAST game for me in the name of drama.
call me a wimp, but i like my endings happy. bittersweet is okay. i'll take that. if it's a toss-up between 'the choices didn't *really* matter' and 'all my fan hearts are crushed into dust' I will take the former every time.
