An Anomen fan? A rarity, indeed.   I downloaded a bunch of fanned romances for that game back in the day because of Anomen. LOL!

Oh, he was my first in-game romance So, yeah, that's why I am so very fond of him. And he got me in ToB when he said (paraphrasing): "Let me show you what lies beneath this steel plate." Meaning that he had a heart that was beating for little old me  

 

 

Nah, there's Enderal (Skyrim Conversion mod) coming up this year.

 

Is Pillar of Eternity great? I heard it mentionned several times already.

 

YES! There are no romances, but if that is not absolutely necessary for your enjoyment of a game like this, it's absolutely amazing. If you loved Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate, you will love this game

I kid, I did enjoy his romance, but I would've very much liked to see how things went with Valygar and Haer'Dalis as well. Fortunately the fan-made romances for that series are excellent.

 

If there had been a choice, I'd have totally tapped Valygar. He was a fixture in my party in BG2. Along with Anomen, Minsc, Aerie, and Imoen/Yoshimo (me - Paladin Inquisitor O_o). I chucked him for Sarevok in ToB, though... As for fan-made romances, I really loved the Soulafein mod. Oh, and the BG Enhanced Editions have new romances as well, but I haven't had time to go through them yet. Overall, BG is possibly my favourite RPG of all time Must have gone through it at least half a dozen times.

Mine, too. I was veeery surprised at how much I luuuurrrved him at the end, given how much I disliked him to begin. Anomen!!!! My favourite erratic paladin wannabe Seriously, though. Once you reach Throne of Bhaal, he's quite sweet Oh, Skyrim... I keep on wanting to move on to newer games, and you just end up sucking me right back in with your mods

 

I'll probably return to Skyrim after I will be done with Pillars of Eternity

*Waves* I`m also an Anomen fan  . I remember to be so surprised to find out that we could have romances in a game. And i confess that during my 1st playthrough, i did thought that Valygar was also a romance option (and i remember being so disappointed when my brother told me that a female PC only had one LI available , luckily i loved Anomen). The Baldur's Gate series was one of my favorite games and the one that introduced me to rpgs.

And now i`m feeling nostalgic...

It's funny to read about Skyrim romances and related mods - I have almost 300 hours on that game and I married one woman and just left her at home. For some reason with that game I didn't care about romance (might be because I was on PS3).

 

A little more on topic - I'm very frustrated that Hakkon isn't coming to PS4 until May. Oh well. I will be getting the Witcher around that time but I'll just play both I guess. It'll be nice to have the BE, my canon Inky needs some tweaks.

Actually, I think the unmodded brows are better. I doubt warriors of the time had the means to pluck their brows on the battlefield, or that they'd really care. Some of the eyebrows do make the characters look like they've got hypothyroidism, but other brow options look a lot like mine when I've left them unattended.  

 

the eyebrows in the CC were the bane of my character creating. you're right - totally make or break the face. they completely change the expression. i was also bummed you couldn't set the color as different than the hair. it's a subtle thing, but you can really do a lot to make a toon unique with hair/brow tinting being different.

 

TOTALLY digging the templar cosplays. it's always nice to see more men cosplay. equity in all the geeky things.

Re the comments above about warriors and grooming, in some cultures, the warriors would not go into battle without making sure they looked their best (and therefore, their most badass!).  The Spartans, for example, were famous for sprucing themselves up before a fight - before the final battle at Thermopylae, they combed out their lovely long hair.  The Pharaohs took their barbers everywhere with them, including to war, as they were addicted to the 'remove all body hair' ideal of beauty.  I've been very impressed by all the washing facilities I've seen all over Thedas, so I'd expect their warriors could have their eyebrows groomed in camp, or their hair, if they wanted to.  And I expect the Orlesians take the full beauty parlour with them when they make war!

That is an awesome armor, a heck of a lot of work and thought went into that.  Very nice!

 

I will second that Pillars of Eternity is great! It's been hours of fun.

.... so, you flycamming people inspired me, and i had to go get flycam going, and then there was MORE CULLEN to be had and yeah. this playthrough went from 'canon' to 'i am never going to finish any of it, i will just play it over and over in different flycam angles' so there's that.

 

 

Also, i updated my fiction (it's wednesday - well, almost). Chapter 6 of Haven involves Varric questioning Cullen about his hair - and other plottings. (blushes as she leaves a link).  i almost didn't finish it on time, since Anders and Hawke randomly decided to distract me with writing something fluffy something about them. i haven't shipped them in... long time.

This is probably old news but I didn't realise how much of the ambient dialogue I was missing from my first playthrough.  I had the war table dialogue were Leliana said to Cullen "Hush. Just look pretty" but I never got the Varric one where he said they keep Cullen around because he was pretty until today.

thanks for the advice on writing sites to those who gave it earlier.  Will look into it and let you know when it's posted.  Definitely agree with whoever said about labelling it, it's highly unlikely the story will get completed but as a series of snapshots in the lives of the characters it's pretty complete if that's what people will after.  


I have the DLC but not played it yet - in that screenshot above there looks like a bit of chest hair - not seen that anywhere before other than the chest hair paragon Varric, have we?  Cullen with a sprinkle of chest hair.... mmm

You know it kinda looks like He-Man's chair there.. Love it and all those wonderful post on 5000 page great job you all.. Been playing catch up Grams been in and out of hospital so you know one day at a time... I would also like to say because this is the safest place to say it thanks EA and Bioware so very much for this game I its a place to go to when you think your problems are to much there's a world out there that has a lot bigger problems like killing giant spiders outside before the kids can go out to play!! An all of you on the Cullen thread where you make it a safe haven from I guess you call the trolls(still don't get that I think of bridges) anyways you all are very beautiful people inside and out... So from the bottom of my heart thank-you and for all my fellow Services Buddies that are not with me anymore you'll also have a place in my heart..
