Cool - still not updating though til I know why one of the big screenshot tools (SRWE) is no longer working with Patch 6.
And then, oddly, I get called a 'fangirl' like it is a bad thing. On the BSN site!! Where...I just assumed...we were all kinda on here BECAUSE we are fang girls/guys. (Note, that does not happen in this group...cause ya'll are awesome)
Yeah, I totally feel you. As sage aptly put it, there's this huge separation between the idea of the hardcore gamer and the fangirl/boy as if someone's enjoyment of a game in their personal free time is somehow comparable to another's. If a gamer enjoys the technical and physical mastery of battling in their games that's totally cool, but I don't see how it's inherently more "proper" than enjoying a game with exercises in creativity in the form of fanart or fanfiction, which require a lot of skill in their own right.
I also think statistics state that a large percentage of the fanfic-writing community in general is composed of females? So...there it is. It's unfortunate and very common for hobbies associated with "feminine" interests to be lambasted in society these days

^ entirely possible. which is frustrating. must be especially frustrating for the guys i know who write/enjoy fanfic. they like the fanfic, but often feel they can't say so, because it's got the 'fan' stigma and the 'girl' stigma. stupid stuff.
meanwhile, i meant to work on chatper 7 of my fanfic, but spent most of the day writing fluffy kissy moments that won't happen for a while yet.
...did this while working on my hard difficulty run. figured i'd wait for nightmare until i wasn't also trying to run flycam. if i try nightmare and flycam both, i tend to forget what i'm doing and die a lot more.

It sucks about the 'real gamer' thing though. I think it's just the other half trying to ****** on whatever's encroaching upon "their turf." I.e. gaming in general. Even though I think the latest statistics on that are somewhere along the lines of 52/48%. No one should have to validate their experiences. The fact that it was put in the game is its own justification.
And I just checked those stats. 71% of gamers are over 18, and there are more women over 18 playing than there are boys under 18 playing [US]. -Because we know where that argument really stems from....

Completely agree. Tactics and fluffy fanfic are not mutually exclusive either. Watch me plan out my dual-wielding-ranger-goddess in NWN 2 - following a bloody chart, min-maxing everywhere - and then being all sappy over Bishop
Completely unrelated, but I am playing through Pillars of Eternity right now, and my warrior just got a reinforced larder door for a shield. It was a quest reward...

I was just thinking if it was possible to get a really good shot of one of them taking it, you wouldn't even need to tell him that, but I don't think that's a possibility. The animations are kind of weird at the point he takes it and I think it would throw it off a bit.

Yeah, that animation is very weird - he does a sort of moonwalk x electric slide to the center of the room.
I have so much extra footage that I didn't use - I think I might make another vid that is a bit more upbeat and doesn't center on the Templar thing.
