OMG thank you for finding this and thank you to the guy who did this.

I just started a game with this, so far so good, I am not out of the prologue yet (so can't tell if there is going to be problems) but I have new eyebrows 

 

Edit: I just loaded up a completed game and went to the dlc area It seems to be working fine with exception to longer loading screens (though I can't remember if that's just down to the mods or not) and cutscenes seem a little off fps wise but not that bad.

Ok guys, please be gentle...this is my first attempt at a fan-made vid. This features my IQ, Rhiannon Trevelyan, who chooses to become a Templar for the sake of the Inquisition. She asks Cullen to continue taking lyrium (for now) for his health. This video focuses on the struggles of their addiction - to lyrium and to each other. Very angsty and dark, I know! The feels! Please be mindful that this is my canon playthrough - I respect everybody's playthroughs, so please be respectful of mine!

 

Please be sure to view in 1080p 60 for proper framerate!

Thank you! I know - the feels! Honestly, it was a refreshing change in pace from my "happily ever after" IQ's. Who knows, they could still have a happy ending - it all depends on how hard it is to find a safer way to cut the addiction. I'm still holding out on Bioware giving us more info on that down the road and not leaving that piece up to head-canon. 

 

If only I could write! I sooooo want to see a fic of this romance. 

 

I do have more in-game vids to upload to my playlist for you guys. I've gotten through the Samson judgement now and just have to go after the final boss.

Yeah, I totally feel you. As sage aptly put it, there's this huge separation between the idea of the hardcore gamer and the fangirl/boy as if someone's enjoyment of a game in their personal free time is somehow comparable to another's. If a gamer enjoys the technical and physical mastery of battling in their games that's totally cool, but I don't see how it's inherently more "proper" than enjoying a game with exercises in creativity in the form of fanart or fanfiction, which require a lot of skill in their own right.

 

I also think statistics state that a large percentage of the fanfic-writing community in general is composed of females? So...there it is. It's unfortunate and very common for hobbies associated with "feminine" interests to be lambasted in society these days

 

 

  

 

Let's bring it the Inquisition and put them to burn! I am I a mad fangirl of Alistair and Cullen and I am proud of it XD

I just need to say...wow...there's just something about a guy in a suit that just...yeah...my eyes just gravitate towards his hips for some reason. 

You have to check to be sure his gig line is straight, of course.    (Military term for the straight line you should see formed by the buttons on the shirt through the zipper on the pants.)

Yes  the new work around seems to be working for a lot of ppl I haven't tested it yet But from what i see from the grp a lot of ppl got their mods working also if anyone is interested in a guide  on how to make it work here is one by TheIronDrengin

 

To create the modded patch and to ensure it works with Patch 6 do the following..

• Place the vanilla patch 6 files in the correct location (automatically done by Origin [use repair or update to latest version])
• Do Not replace the ModManager patch.diamod file yet.
• Open the ModManager and ensure 'Force Rescan of Patch' is not selected (check-mark not showing)
• Click 'Merge' and let the manager run through and create the new patch (select one mod to ensure a 'modded file'). Save this to desktop as you will be deleting these files (not required)
• Close ModManager and then replace the 'Patch.diamod' file in the ModManager folder with the new one downloaded from HERE
• Now open ModManager and select which mods you want and then click 'Merge'
• Save the new files to the 'Merged' folder (or a place of your choosing)
• Delete the files in the 'bioware/DAI/Patch' folder and replace with the ones you just created
• Start the game and all should be ok.

For some reason the new patch.diamod file does not always 'take' and can be overwritten so the above method stops this from happening. It is long-winded but it does work.

 My thing is - I love playing games, the tactical stuff and building armor, skills and battling enemies, but it's just not that interesting to talk about for me. I know some people love discussing pros and cons of this weapon over that one, etc., and of course sometimes I need input or help, but mostly I prefer to talk about the characters. With Bioware games, anyway.  But I do enjoy reading other people's opinions on what the best mage build is and stuff like that, I just don't participate as much. I can chat all day a character's motivations, or how good they look in a suit (ahem).

According to Dragon Age Keep, I have 77 inquisitors. Over 50 of them are my 'canon' quizzy, just trying to get her right. I finally did, but seriously, 50 tries.

 

I, too, wanted to make a pretty toon for Cullenmance. Frankly, I think it's hardest to make attractive human females. I don't know why. FemQunari are easier, imo. The fem toons, just took forever to get right. << lips! lips was the key - i had to pull the slider fully 'up' (or was it down). also, several of the best face shapes are not the ones they use for the default heads. I had to mess around a bit, ignoring how the face seemed to jump around like an alien, and then come back to it. i typically start up the game with 1 hour worth of 'gameplay' gone into the face alone.

 

^ but you know, not 'real' gaming. j/k 

 

@ Melissa GT - cool video, esp. with templar quizzy. do you headcanon her as being on lyrium, too? just curious. interesting thought there, about the whole lyrium thing.

Yeah what is about the lips? When I did my self insert Lavellan, I made her lips look close to mine, but in game they always looked so weird and off when she'd talk. Resting, they looked fine.

Thank you! That song is very moving. The first time I heard it was after I started playing Rhiannon and I knew that was the song for her right away. I might tweak the vid a smidge since I can't ever leave anything alone. I will also be doing one more vid featuring Rhiannon, but it will focus on the whole bada$$ knight in shining armor thing, and not the Templar thing.

 

As for the future - I have plans for a Reaver! Trevelyan x Cullen that is a total adrenaline junkie who brings out a side of Cullen he didn’t even know he had…needless to say he thought she was a total psycho when he first met her. I have a great backstory written for her too. I can’t wait to start playing her - she’s actually a facial self-insert…not a personality insert, lol. I already have a song picked out for her fan-vid…it’s another perfect song.

Thank you! In order for the IQ to take the Templar spec, he/she has to start taking lyrium. The spec quest is actually constructing the lyrium filter. The trainer, Ser, describes the feeling of taking lyrium (and so does Cullen). Dorian even remarks that the IQ smells different, "like the air after a lighting strike." Unfortunately the game doesn't show the IQ taking it - that would have been good to include in the vid if such a thing existed.
