There are so many ways I can respond to this but at a loss to decide which one lol

Besides theres nothing wrong with it, you sound like your trying to curb an addiction... so I suppose that means no more PM nice pics?

I don't usually write stuff like this, so I'm just going to blame it on my lady-times.

Below the cut- kinda sad and approaching an anniversary (not the good kind) so this is just me getting it out.

Ugh, I spent a good long while today trying to get more shots of Cullen in combat, but he just would not cooperate, and then the power went out twice, so I finally gave up. I got some, but... eh. :(

(3840x2400) It took him a while to notice the Red Templars on fire behind him.

Awww bless him. My Quizzy don't get killed/knocked out that often but somehow she always manages to in this quest. She's like 'Guys....come on don't let me die in front of the boyfriend...how embarrassing.....geeze, thanks guys!' :/  I kind of wished he would at least get knocked over for me, at least it wouldn't be as embarrassing for my girl lol.

Did you have your Templar & Cullen stay on lyrium like Mel or did you support him going off it?

I haven't tried templar yet so not sure if you go on it & then can go off it with him or being a templar you make the decision to go on & stay on.

EDIT: this is from someone who btw only just noticed some of the MP characters hanging outside of Cullens office and in the garden lol

I had Cullen go back on lyrium for the moment, then used the dialogue option you get at the ending to remind him of your promise to look for a safer way to quit. The good thing about that choice is that are a lot of different ways to ask it of him, so you can do in as supportive or bastardly way as you want to - I chose the option to ask him to go back on it for the sake of his health, assuming the risk of just cold-turkeying the lyrium was too high.

It's actually never specified whether the Inquisitor stays on lyrium for good or quits too after the ending (though if you are a Templar that can be sorta implied in the wording of "finding another way together"), since you can have any number of reasons to want to fully become a Templar or even just borrow their abilities for a little while, so that would depend on your personal headcanon. My own Templar Quizzie doesn't immediately quit the lyrium right after defeating Cory (even though she absolutely supports Cullen doing so through safer ways at that point) because being a Templar actually means more to her than being the Inquisitor, but in my headcanon she works very hard with Cullen, Cassandra, Barris and what's left of the Templars and Seekers, after Cory is dealt with, to find ways to gradually weane the Templars of the addiction and rebuild the Order with the magic-nullifying techniques they need, but without the lyrium leash.

It should be noted, for the record, that you can totally become a Templar and still support Cullen quitting the lyrium. Mel and I have both made the choice to get him back on it on our playthroughs for our own personal and roleplaying reasons, but it's not a mandatory condition of the Templar romance or anything.

Re. you eta: the Templar girl from the MP, Belinda, is such a cutie. I friend-ship her hard with Barris and Lysette. ^_^

Thanks nine :)

From some reason I always shy away from tank type classes in fear of stuffing up (it's the mmo's influence of not wanting to get everyone killed) but I would really like to try the romance with this perspective! I restarted my cannon PT because I rushed & didn't pay the attention I wanted to. Maybe after that PT I'll recreate Ardra as a templar - I have a thing about him only romancing the one person but taking different paths in an AU

I love those templars too... I just wish there was more interaction with them all... I mean even if you could go up to Belinda or any of the other MP toons like Rion and go "Nice job" or something

Tank classes are fun in single player, I've been having a lot of fun with Derzka and Zhenya (I avoid them in MMOs for the same reason). I find the DAI MP tank frustrating; it channels you to very specific abilities first, ones I rarely actually use in the single player game.

Hi,

I have this idea from a prompt that I read. It sparked some inspiration but I'm not quite sure how I could make it work. It's been long since I've written anything so right now I'm slowly trying to build my confidence back up. So I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas for it I could expand on?

The prompt: The Three Shards

Write about someone who tried to kill the cosmic monster that threatened the entire universe. The catch? This character failed. Double catch? The cosmic monster shattered this character’s soul into 3 parts, so that they may never be whole again. Triple catch? One of the ‘shards’ has been reincarnated.

Personally I don't think I could write a story where Corypheus gets what he wants, it'd get kinda complicated for me. So instead of that, what if the Inquisitor's victory ended up having a bad consequence. Somehow pieces of herself gets scattered and everyone tries to figure it out and get her back again.

I'd like some feedback, but if it doesn't seem like a great idea then I can just scrap it.

Love this, Mel. It's angsty, but it hurts so good! ;) My Templar playthrough ended up being my happiest, sweetest Cullen romance somehow, so this is a completely different take on it for me, but I love seeing it from a different angle. The Templar romance has become one of my favorite Cullen romance dynamics, and it's amazing to see how people can take it in such different directions.

(PS. there is totally a happy ending in the horizon for Rhiannon and Cullen. I believe in them! :P )

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback, especially from another "Templar girl."

Rhiannon has turned into my favorite protag of all time, which is a big thing to do considering it previously was a feisty Renegade Infiltrator Fem!Shep named Raven.

I tend to gravitate more towards the angsty/angry/heart-tugging love stories (and stories in general) in games/movies/books/fan fic. Dean Winchester is my favorite fictional character of all time, so that's saying something. Good grief is his story sad and angry and angsty. Maybe it's because I don't like all the drama in my real life, so I enjoy it my fiction as an outlet? Who knows.

Did you have your Templar & Cullen stay on lyrium like Mel or did you support him going off it?

I haven't tried templar yet so not sure if you go on it & then can go off it with him or being a templar you make the decision to go on & stay on.

So that's who those people are! That hat is awesome.  :P

Re. you eta: the Templar girl from the MP, Belinda, is such a cutie. I friend-ship her hard with Barris and Lysette. ^_^

I haven't decided if Rhiannon will choose to become a full Templar or not. It was always her intention in the beginning, but she's seen so much in working with the Inquisition. It's funny to think back on it now but one of the hardest conversation choices in the game for me was the one where Dorian asks what her intentions are with the Templar spec. I honestly didn't know which one to pick. She obviously wanted the powers because there aren't many Templars left and she firmly believes that mages (in general) pose a threat (she's besties with Viv, so there ya go). She has seen and heard about some of the worst of what mages can do, and she wants to prove that not all Templars are bad. The big difference with our playthroughs is that Rhiannon saw the mages as the bigger threat and went to Redcliffe over Therinfall Redoubt, so the Order is in shambles. She has managed to scrape together what is left, but it needs to be rebuilt. Is she the person to do it? I have no idea. I'll need to think on it. She is pushing for Divine Viv over Cassandra, so perhaps the answer is to work with Cass to rebuild/merge the Templars with the Seekers and seek out a way to free the Order from the lyrium leash. Yeah, I like that! Head-canon accepted!

Thanks nine :)

Oooh I love tanking in MMO's! I love the "you rock, girl" praise. In LoTRO I have a capped Captain, which is the best tanking class in the game (imo). When she drops into her tank stance, she will not die. Surprisingly, she can also put out DPS like you wouldn't believe. It's a sort of status symbol in that game to be a good Captain as it's one of the coveted raid/group members, and level capped Captains are rare.

Oh, and I play her as a KISA too - total honor and sacrifice. And what is her name? Cauthrien - the class is a 2h class and she uses a greatsword, so it's perfect. :D

In single-player RPG's I tend to gravitate towards rogue archers (total sniper spec). It's what I always play in Skyrim. But for some reason this game got me hooked on warriors.

I like the possibilities with the templars, but since I may go that route with Zhenya, no Cullen angst for her (I like the idea of a dwarven templar - their magic resistance make them naturals, though I think there are unresolved questions about how the lyrium works for them.) I wonder if Cass has any lines about the lyrium with a templar if she's romanced?

I'm just glad you posted a lot of the angsty Templar version of the romance since I'll probably never get around to that one. If I get around to playing another Dalish for Cullen, she'll probably be a rogue (and I'll try for the polyamory bug, to see if it's still working, lol.) ;)

Ok, delurking for a bit...

Yes, I've played and completed Jaws of Hakkon on one of my characters (rogue/human). There is no additional content with your LI. However there is some banter amongst your group in addition to the normal banter you get in the regular playthroughs. I would have liked to have gotten much more being that one of the biggest draws to Bioware games for me is the voice acting and character development, but c'est la vie. (Also, for me, the war table banter and banter between messengers and the various advisors in their offices, was finally truly fixed in my game post the DLC. It was broken in all prior patches for me.)

I've heard people complain that it's too pricey for what you get. For me, I disagree, I've definitely paid more for less in other games. I feel that I got my money's worth, but I'm also a lore hound and parts of this DLC, lore-wise, made me giddy. *side-eyes the Chantry with extreme prejudice* <_< I've also heard people say it's just re-using maps. I didn't see this at all. The entire map is new, there is some flora and fauna reuse, but the terrain? Nope, I didn't get that feeling.

My biggest gripe was if you played it on a post-game save (i.e., after you beat Coryfifaceits, or however you spell it) there is no banter about that between your companions, they still act like you haven't fought him yet. (I had Dorian, Cassandra, and Varric with me.) This was jarring because other NPCs in the game did have post-game responses, which was cool. That aside, spending more time with Scout Harding was totally worth it. Great character development there IMHO.

Long story short: It's a nice side-adventure to take your little merry band of misfits on, but if you skip it you're not missing out on something major (unless you're really into the lore). To me it's sort of akin to DA2's Mark of the Assassin for me. Fun, but if you're on the fence I'd buy it when it was on sale. As opposed to DA2's Legacy (or DA's Witch Hunt) that I feel are "must buys" if you like the DA universe.

My 2cents anyway.

Edit: Oh hey, I got top...Have a Cullen:

So I'm just starting What Pride had Wrought. I think I might have had some goosebumps during that beginning cut scene. :) And Cullen.

Anyways, I'm curious as to what people use for screenshots. I'm thinking of getting Inquisition for my desktop (if it can handle it) and I saw mention of flycam and all of these other things. I'll be the first to admit that I am completely clueless when it comes to which programs do what and what is less likely to fry my computer.
Any suggestions and help is greatly appreciated. <3

Ok guys, please be gentle...this is my first attempt at a fan-made vid. This features my IQ, Rhiannon Trevelyan, who chooses to become a Templar for the sake of the Inquisition. She asks Cullen to continue taking lyrium (for now) for his health. This video focuses on the struggles of their addiction - to lyrium and to each other. Very angsty and dark, I know! The feels! Please be mindful that this is my canon playthrough - I respect everybody's playthroughs, so please be respectful of mine!

Please be sure to view in 1080p 60 for proper framerate!

Constructive feedback welcome!

This is amazing! So bittersweet. You did a really great job putting all this together. And I totally have hope for them. As long as they're together, they'll find a way to pull through.

Also, your screenshots are always EPIC. Love the ones you posted of Cullen at the shrine.

I liked it. A new map, quite a few new quests that all basically tie to the story of the DLC and it took quite a while to complete. Imo it's better than any DLC they have done before, it's like a mini expansion.

There is some new banter, there is even banter relating to a Cullen romance, very briefly but I hear that that's not  the case with other LI, no new interactions with LI as far as I know though and some npc's in the new area will comment on what you are doing in the main story. If you like Harding you get to interact a bit more with her as well.
