Jowan and Lily:

→ Jowan was one of Uldred’s apprentices.
→ Lily was still alive in Aenor ten years after her imprisonment, at least up until the mage/Templar war broke out. May or may not still be alive out there.
→ Aenor was a bad, bad place. Worse than we imagined.

Damn, as if Uldred weren't hateworthy enough on the basis of what we already knew. Knowing he was led astray by his mentors (instead of just dicking around ineptly with blood magic in empty bathrooms or something like I'd always imagined) actually gives me a little bit of sympathy for Jowan (he's... not a favorite of mine).

Wasn't there something in DA:I about Knight-Captain Brynn? All the offscreen templar names kind of run together, but it sounds really familiar.

 

EDIT 4/26 just so I have this somewhere: I was probably thinking of Knight-Commander Brycen.

That leaves Falon'Din, Sylaise, and Ghilan'ain, assuming that each of these spiritual entities had a singular "purpose".

 

Sylaise is the goddess who taught the elves magic and given how magic has been linked to pride on multiple occasions in the lore that could be what she embodies.

 

Falon'Din is the god of death and fortune so he could potentially be greed or fear.

I hope she's alive, though it sounds as if the Templars at Aeonar were particularly nasty with their "tests." And did it sound as if she was the only non-templar there who survived more than a few days?

Carroll seems even funnier by the minute. I love him, he's so amusing and hilarious, I cant even explain why they made him a Red Templar. He's even funnier than Alistair, which is saying something.

Sorry to ask this here, this is the first time I played again since January. I just got all the patches, now in Mesh setting High Quality I get the Shiny Hair problem. Does anyone know how to fix this please?

Yeah, but snoufleurs die in one shot and drop like 5 to 17 tier 3 pelts each. The only kind that removes class restriction, even! Hard to feel too sorry for them, even if they're fluffy.

They've separated Mesh and Shader into two separate slides as of patch... 5 or 6. Try raising your Shader slider and see if that fixes the hair instead.

He was bonkers.

The "abandoned with no signs of violence" part is reminding me of three things:

 

- the Grey Warden strongholds found completely deserted, with no sign of the Wardens that lived there or where they might've gone (which is referenced both in Last Flight in a codex entry in-game)

 

- the Circle found abandoned in ...Idunno, but it was in a codex entry in DAI too. Completely empty, no signs of fight, no bodies, no mages or Templars reported.

 

- that war table quest chain with the Executors. When you go with Cullen, three Inquisition outposts are found abandoned, no sign of struggle, no mess. Letter says they left of their own accord, but who knows.

So Kinloch Cullen talked with mages more than the other templars did. That is pretty adorable. I assumed he was more shy/soft spoken at the time just because of his conversational fail w/ Fem!Mage warden, but it seems he simply couldn't hold it together in the face of a pretty mage lady destined for greatness

I'd imagine he lost that quality by the time he reached Kirkwall due to his paranoia

Something is going on. This really bugs me. So many places found empty, and yet no signs of struggle whatsoever. This is the kind of thing that I love!!!
