O, the wonders of the internet...Might I point out that the discussion has certainly gone off a completely diffrent direction. Then again, it has been 5k pages.
Personally, I think the old gods are perhaps the forgotten ones in the elven legends. Just something to ponder, yes?

I think they mean this in an evolutionary sense, though? Like, we humans lost a vestigial tail at some point, and we don't develop it back even if we're raised in a jungle. The dwarves, as a race, have developed that resistance and disconnect, and the current generations don't have that trace anymore, regardless of living in the stone or in the surface.
I took the way it was described originally more as close contact blinding whatever the sense is, and is related to why they don't dream in the Fade. There have been suggestions that they do dream, just don't enter the Fade when they do, but that's one of those very vague and unexplained things because otherwise, why aren't they like the Tranquil? The are a lot of tantalizing hints in DAI about the dwarves history, etc., but they just tend to obscure more than they explain.

I think that's likely too, especially considering the way Solas phrases an answer at one point about there being nothing to prove a connection. But I think there are connections between all of the pantheons somehow. I also wonder if they're taking a David Weber approach, and elves, humans, and dwarves are all branches of the same original people which is why there can be children between the races?

I'd assume it would become more official, and that was a time period when respectable families frequently bought their sons a commission in a unit (some units being a lot more desirable---and expensive---than others. The kind of professional national armies we think of are much more recent. Military units were often locally organized and funded. I just don't see Cullen as the idle son of a country squire myself.

I haven't, but the first three cutscenes can be done pretty much in a row.
That said, I had a peek without saving. It's really cute how Cullen's updated codex mentions a letter where his sister is curious as to why he refers to the Inquisitor by name.

I bet she already knows. A little brother can't hide things like that from Big Sis you know. I grew up with an adorable and bashful cute little runt who is a foot taller than me and often acts a bit like Cullen at dating. The smallest change of intonation or choice of word when he talks about a particular girl does mean something. I just wish Mia would teach Cullen about dating, useful or not for him it'll be a helluva fun for her. Niark niark niark

Interesting, I wonder what I did differently. There's the cut scene directly after arriving at Skyhold, then the chess game, then the actual romance start ("secretly" taking place in plain view.) I intentionally spread those out so they weren't too close together, but my codex hasn't updated with Mia's second letter yet. I don't have another cutscene available yet...

Interesting. I suppose if you wait long enough in the game to initiate the romance, you can get the whole thing in quick succession. I haven't gotten the trip to the lake yet, much less that scene, but I've been putting off WE/WH until they give us the Black Emporium so I can get screenshots I want to keep.
