I also wondered if it was because I did Crestwood then Halamshiral then Adamant, but I've heard others do the ball first first, and still not get it. Ugh this seriously annoyed me for a long time, I did it every which way I could think of to get that meeting and still haven't got it. I just like thinking he doesn't want to, you know having the girlfriend off somewhere and he's meeting up with the mother of his child...manners and all lol.
But seriously I have been getting a bug where the game thinks my female warden is Morrigan's lover as well as Alistair's and she sends letters to both of them. I am wondering if that might be a reason for it not happening.

I did it that way too and had heard others had and still got the scene. I've also heard that some have also done it this way but didn't go talk to Alistair at all until afterwards. I mean really, it shouldn't matter (yes I have had a small hissy fit because of it when I did as others had (like you) and nothing... *sigh*

It's bugged. I read that the only way you can get it to fire is if you change a plot flag with CheatEngine. I believe FluffyNinjaLlama mentioned that this is what she also did.

Did you have the tile for stabbing Morrigan in Witch Hunt in your world state? That's been semi-confirmed as the broken flag that's making Morrigan give the line about raising Kieran with the love of her life in the mirror world for any Warden you import, male or female, romanced or not, even if the ritual wasn't done at all and Kieran doesn't even exist in your game.

Ahhh yeah possibly, I know I have a couple of states where I stabbed her, I couldn't tell you if it was those play throughs that had the bug but more than likely is if its a known issue. I'll have to remove that tile then cause that bug seriously annoys me.

What's funny is that we used to think Swords & Shields was about Cullen and Aveline, but apparently the knight-captain in the story is female. So... since Aveline's on the cover and presumably the guardsman since she's wearing her guard armor... it makes me wonder now what it's really about.

I have doubts about Sword & Shield having Cullen in it though, I always imagine it's a kind of Aveline-Donnick thing in Templar stuffs. Varric would get a good kick from Aveline if it's about the guardsmen I guess, or probably he already have Hard in Hightown which features guardsmen & want to change a bit. Anyway I don't even know there's a Cullen x Aveline ship...
From Cullen's reaction "if Varric's writes a book about the Inquisition, will I be inside?" I don't think Cullen's been featured already in one of Varric's published/existing work.
