On a different matter, can someone please tell me what's an OC mean? For example does the Warden/Hawke/Quizzy considered OC? Must an OC be always a person...?

 

It just means original character. So yea, technically everyone's player character is an OC. I guess some could argue against that because your character is already established within the DA universe [albeit with a very loose backstory] but, meh. An OC can be anyone or anything as long as it's original to you. If I'm writing my DA fanfiction and decide to write in an Orlesian dust bunny imbued with a soul, via magic, named Francois? Boom. I just made an OC. Although in my experience people tend to throw the acronym around more so when referencing an original character in an already established world. Like if you were writing a novel, obviously all the characters in the book are your own... That was probably a much longer answer than necessary, sorry lol. But I think you were specifically alluding to your griffon character, in which case, yes it's an OC.

Fascinating read, thanks for sharing this. Always interesting to hear from the people who contribute so much work to make a game, but never get the spotlight.

Aw, here I got excited thinking that he actually commented on that for Cullen's model. LOL 

 

This sounds much more straight forward.

 

"I know Cullen has many fans and he is a general. I wanted to make him handsome and make him look like someone who has power. It's an enjoyable time when I make character faces because I consider the history of the characters."

 

So, his key concept was that he's handsome. LOL I suppose that's similar to his concept from DA2: "clean cut."

Ya'know I really need to remember to check this forum when I'm not at work, so I can actually view everything instead of make a guess based off the link names and comments.

^ These pretty much sum up what I'd consider an OC. I think we get a lot of flexibility when it comes to the DA verse, since we all are essentially buildling off the basics that the game provides (although some completely re-write that as well). It's actually really nice. Many other fandoms are stand-offish, if not entirely outraged by them. DA lends itself to OCs.

I can move things since they are not on different layers. Pouncebeak the Griffon is fully drawn from  head to toe & full body length, but Al's only on what's already on the canvas...

 

 

 

 

Any opinion & criticism is welcomed... Can't start paint the whole thing before composition is OK because the whole light & shadow stuffs will change.

Through some arcane trick, a helpful Fade entity or a very powerful Mage, your spirit is separated from your body and sent leagues below where you have to investigate the fate of a truly primordial Dwarven society? 

 

The enemies you might have to fight along the way are new twists on old standbys. The wraiths could look a little like ugly merpeople, maybe. It would be dark and murky, and yet there would be colorful sea life all over. 

 

Ooh, maybe giant moray eels. 

 

Ahem, I like ocean stuff.

I am absolutely petrified of underwater stuff
I get really jumpy watching underwater scenes in films, though its mainly because things tend to come at you from any direction rather than a fear of the water itself, since I grew up on the seaside.

The idea alone kicks my imagination into overdrive. What if there are parts of the deepest of the deep roads that have flooded?

I can picture a drowned Thaig, overgrown with Coral, full of sea life and spirits impersonating the dead.

Huh. Maybe introduce sirens as spirits of desire possessing the dead in the water, and drowning their victims.

Also: did anyone listen in on the Patrick Weekes & David Gaider interviews the last couple of days? Apparently Inquisition was meant to be twice as long story-wise and the Solas epilogue was going to be a quest. Some cool stuff!

Well, I always suspected they cut off most of the story content. The pace was weird. TBH I'd love to have less area & less characters etc and have more story content for each & for the main story. Oh well...

Interesting how a land totally disconnected from mainland Thedas has dwarves... Unless parts of the deep roads are so deep they go under the ocean?

Well, we're supposed to infer that the Deep Roads go under the Waking Sea, since you can get to the Primeval Thaig in the Free Marches from entrances to the network located in Ferelden and Orlais? The idea that they might go deeper, like off the continental shelf... that'd be really interesting?

 

Also, what if these Voshai Dwarves might be related to those from the Primeval Thaig, which would explain why that Thaig was so different? If they're playing around with Lyrium in a big way and found the Red stuff, then that would explain why they might have recently suffered from some kind of cataclysm?

I adore this idea, flooded areas of the Deep Roads, kinda like what happened to that Thaig under Crestwood Lake?

 

Perhaps the Voshai Dwarves flooded sections of Deep Roads on purpose to prevent the Darkspawn from ever reaching them? Or if not, then could you imagine if we found there was actually another Thaig besides Orzammar and Kal-Sharok that had survived by sealing off their section of the Deep Roads by allowing lava and water to flood the tunnels?

 

Of course, how they'd be able to breathe would be a question, but Dragon Age has never really explained how the Deep Roads maintain airflow and circulation properly, especially since we've heard dwarves comment that they don't know what trees are?
