The way he vehemently rages about the way the Grey Wardens deal with Taint makes me believe that he has a lot of experience with blighted creatures. And on top of that, we have murals in elven temples that depict ancient elves fighting some sort of proto-darkspawn. So again, why would he give his orb to such a creature? I do believe that he knew what Cory and so gave the orb to him cause he'd have the power to open it. Solas simply didn't realize that he could bodyhop.
You know, that's perhaps the most cohesive idea that I've ever seen about the actual origin of the the Taint, and to some extent, it makes a lot of sense. And I have long theorized that the taint was used as a weapon, and perhaps the red lyrium was a vehicle for transporting the stuff.
And we also hear speak of "Andruil's light" from the Well of Sorrows. Maybe it was a weapon she devised to counteract the effects of the Blight?
"She shook the radiance of the stars, divided them into grains of light, then stored them in a shaft of gold. Andruil, blood and force, save us from the time this weapon is thrown. Your people pray to You. Spare us the moment we become Your sacrifice."
So to me it seem possible that the darkspawn could of existed not as mindless beasts at some point and whatever magic/weapon used to fight them off could of changed them and possibly the way in which the taint is spread? aka lyrium
Also I wonder if this is true (darkspawn existing before Cory stormed the heavens etc) then how where they organised or formed before? I mean in some regards that makes sense because that would explain how many there was but then why are there no dwarven stories of darkspawn prior? surely they of all people would of ran into them before (again unless they were never underground til after...)
Ugh, I'm stopping... if one thing really bugs me in the game it's not knowing the exact origin of the taint/darkspawn & its all things related
Also thank you Char ![]()
