Gulp. Whelp, I'm not a history buff, or a political science buff, soooo.... now I'm worried I'll get something wrong. LOL Ah well. Just be kind.
I'm afraid I never actually played through ME, eventho I have a crush on Kaidan all the same.
So I don't know what he said about flirting. On workplace romances for Cullen... I dunno. I also could see him personally loosening up, as we eventually see in DA:I. But I guess I see him as a rule follower, and fraternizing with mages under his charge seems unethical to me as opposed to just being boring or conservative. This is why, for me personally, I'm not terribly keen on the Amell/Cullen romance. At least, not until she's free of the Circle. I also think it should have been more of an issue for him with the Inquisitor, but that's another soap box for another day.
Of course, this is why it's doubly weird that I'm dabbling with this teacher-student thing. We'll see what professor!Cullen ends up doing. BUT! Feylen officially blessed me writing a story inspired by her pic!! :happy dance: I hope I'm not embarrassed to show it to her...

woo hoo!! I was wondering if that was you, but didn't want to presume. Thanks so much for your kind note! (and Knight's Bloom is my very very favorite thing I've ever written, so I hope you like it.
) Cullen/Hawke is my OTP 5ever!
So yay for more fic!!
On the politics/history front, if you're willing to let someone you only started talk to help, I'd be happy to do so. Both are passions of mine, so if you want to run anything by me or ask about a factoid, feel free to PM me. If I don't know it, I can probably find it easy enough for you
. Plus I find helping other writers makes my writing better.
Kaiden says something to the effect of "breaking the fraternization regs is going to be way down on the list when they courts martial us."
And probably not a mage, unless it was the Warden considering how deep his feelings really seem to go, but a colleague? Of course, I'm saying that because I came up with this insane idea of Cullen and a warrior Trevelyan meeting in Kirkwall just after the Chantry took a hit. A templar recruit who's only still a recruit because of politics. Her parents weren't keen on sending her to the templar, so much like Cass, she went to them late, and when the Kirkwall rebellion hit, Bann Trevelyan attempted to "convince" the Order that they didn't need one more recruit. She gets sent to Kirkwall to get her out of Ostwick so the Knight Commander there could cool things down, and at the same time prove she's doing needed work that isn't just killing mages in job lots.
I do tend to write (in my own head at least since the only fic I've actually put to keyboard is the Cullen/FemHawke) that Cullen's romantic entanglement with the mage Inquisitor doesn't go as smoothly. Especially since I generally tend toward world states where he's infatuated with the Warden. It makes the final "gotcha" so much more satisfying.
And yuph, that was me. I wish I had more brain cells to give better feedback, but honestly I was enjoying myself to much to want to really engage the brain on the level of critique I try to give. I'm sorry.
I have the prologue and half of the first chapter of Old Friends done. My biggest worry, well two biggest worries, are that I haven't done this fic thing in a while and am rusty, and that I've never written in the Dragon Age universe before and thus am not getting the tone right. Our own worst critic...
Now to go look at pretty pictures then type more.
