I'm wondering if I've bugged the game on my flirt-quisitor playthrough. I have the option to ask both Sera and Cullen for a dance at the Winter Palace... :/

I was too chicken to test it so I only asked Cullen and things are back on normal track now. I've had a few issues this playthrough with bugs so didn't want to tempt fate. At the moment random enemies keep flying up into the air and either dying or landing off the map. It's all well and good until you remember you needed to loot them for quest progression and have to reload. I had a pride demon at Adamant suicide over the battlements twice...

It's not exactly a glitch - you do have the option to ask anyone you've advanced far enough into the flirting for a dance, but the final dance partner will still be the one you're actually romancing. It's probably an oversight in the romance flags, but your game is not bugged because of it. With my main IQ I had flirted enough with Blackwall and Sera that I could ask both of them for a dance (and they responded positively, the same lines as if I was actively romancing them), but in the end it was still only Cullen that came out for the balcony scene; and with another I got to ask both Bull and Josephine for a dance, but it was still Blackwall (the active romance on that save) who came out at the end.

 

I actually liked that, it felt like a nice touch - for my main IQ, there had been a lot of playful flirtation with Blackwall and Sera up to that point, even after Quizzie started dating Cullen for real, so it seemed right that they'd still like to have a friendly/casually flirty dance with her. Specially if my IQ told them Cullen had refused to dance with her - it's totally in character for them to wanna poke at that hornet's nest. You don't get to dance with all your beaus onscreen, but I like to imagine my IQ danced with them at some earlier point of the ball too, and it was the watching her dance in public with Blackwall and then Sera that ignited that little (maybe jealous?) spark in Cullen that made him ask for a dance of his own after all. It made that line about "poor taste in dance partners" even sweeter, later.

I'm not sure if it happens just with flirting. MY IQ was romancing IB & didn't flirt with Sera at all but must of had really high friendship with her because I could ask her to dance as well *shrug* But like you, only the character I was romancing came out to the balcony. I thought it was maybe a bug but cool cause you could ask a friend to dance not just you LI

Hmm, good question. I was shooting for DA:O day, since it's a DA:O AU (which I had set in mind as starting tomorrow). But re-reading July 1st, I guess it sorta fits that day, too. *phew* Maybe that's what I'll shoot for, since I'm still not quite done. And I have to pack today.  I'm right at the end. So close!!!  And I'm writing sexy stuff... as my husband tapes up moving boxes and gives me surreptitiously resentful glances. :/ Not an atmosphere conducive to creativity. Or smut.

MMmmmmhhhh... Just the mention of smut & modern AU made me think of Cullen in 70s style jacket... O.o

 

Are you moving somewhere far or just a few blocks away? When I was still back home we moved once to a house a few block away & it was a very long process... Like a month to properly move. But if it's far away guess that it's quicker XD
