So, I haven't finished my modern AU Cullen story yet, but I did manage to eek out new chapter for Fool's Errand for Cullen positivity week. Yay!!

 

Fool's Errand Chapter 14: Collaboration

 

Summary:  Three years after allowing Marian Hawke to escape Kirkwall, a disgraced Cullen is sent on a desperate quest to find her. Can he earn her trust in time to regain what he’s lost and finally redeem them all for the role they played in igniting the mage-templar war? Set in 9:40, after the events of DA2 and Asunder. Now AU to DA:I.

 

Chapter Summary: Hawke finally talks to King Alistair and puts their risky plan into motion, meanwhile her relationship with Cullen just keeps getting more complicated (and yes, they finally have the Come to Andraste talk).

...yeeeaaah. I know she's supposed to technically be dead, but it just seemed to fit. At least the non-tainted version of her.

Nah, I get it I'm kinda glad it's her and not some nameless lass that has no connection otherwise. Plus, my DAO main PT was a Cousland so kinda like it (even if he still pines for that "other" chick )

LOL Yeah, I know what you mean. My  main is a Cousland, too, so part of my thinking is that at least we know Alistair is probably compatible with her once he gets past his issues for the one that got away. I still want him to be happy.

And how about if ALL potential wardens were really recruited by Duncan, all 6 of them? XD

 

And all of them survive the Joining. Basically it's kinda possible right? Duncan's desperate to bolster the wardens' rank & if ever he managed to get all 6 of thems? Alright probably Amell/Surana is rather mutually exclusive but it can also be a good possibility to have both of them... Like the three friends Amell-Surana-Jowan... Always together in mischief.

It's been done. It's a good fic, but YMMV. Cousland Warden is a total douche in this one though.

I think she meant untainted Cousland (who I also tend to headcanon as the person King Alistair ends up marrying while "carrying on with" Amell, if I headcanon him marrying anyone). But that would be cool too.

 

Specifically, I'd kind of love to read a fic where Amell/Surana gets sent to Aeonar for her role in the whole Jowan thing, and a slightly more tired and nihilistic Greagoir gives up on Cullen and transfers him there (on guard duty, not as a prisoner) instead of Kirkwall. Where on some level Cullen thinks if Amell/Surana were there Broken Circle wouldn't have happened and is therefore even angrier at her about the Jowan thing than he otherwise would have been, and Amell/Surana is still completely heartbroken/enraged that Irving et al. left her out to dry. Then when whatever Mysterious Thing implied in WoT2 happens there, the two of them and Lily bust out and go track down / fight / assist? / ??? whatever caused the Mysterious Thing, and over time the other two draw inspiration from Lily's WoT2-apparent ability to feel something other than blinding rage despite being in a similarly awful situation.

And why not get to work and write it yourself???? that is a good concept there . And don't tell me that you can't because I can tell you that I never wrote a ff. And now after being addicted with DA i find myself in high inspiration and writing in english .. which is not my main language lol..

Hahahaha. Honest answer: because I'd spend the rest of my days living in fear of someone from real life finding it and somehow figuring out it was me. (For whatever reason this bothers me less with fanart, which I post all the time.) So instead I'll keep working on getting better at drawing until I reach the point where someone who likes writing will be willing to do an art trade for one of my prompts.

Hey, are there any Cullen romance videos with an Inquisitor voiced by Sumalee Montano? I know Alix Wilton Regan is the default for elves and humans and she does a good job; I was just curious to hear Suma's voice in a romance that doesn't involve Blackwall or Bull.

I know someone posted at least some of the romance with Sumalee's voice, but it was months ago and I can't remember who now. I liked it myself, Sumalee gives it an entirely different tone. My future poly-bug rogue Dalish has her voice, actually.

 

Edit: come to think of it, doesn't the BE let you change your voice as well? Maybe load from a save, change her voice and replay the romance scene...

I will say, I really liked her delivery with the Cullen romance. And I think Tashina is correct, that you can change your voice in the BE.

I used Sumalee's voice for my canon Cullen romance playthrough.  I don't have a ton of videos but I do have one for the desk clearing cutscene here.

I'm really sorry to say that I am really identifying my characters with AWR's voice that hearing Sumalee's sounds really weird

I find it helps me keep the personalities more separate by mixing up the voices, especially the defaults. I like my Dalish with Sumalee's more aggressive tone and my dwarven smuggler with AWR's gentler tones. Now that I think of it, my non-Andratrians have gotten AWR's voice, and my Andrastrians have gotten Sumalee's. That was not intentional, lol. So Zhenya, my hard-hitting blunt dwarf who's devoutly Andrastrian has Sumalee's while Reska, my manipulative dwarven archer who doesn't believe in anything, but is purposefully manipulating the Andratrians has AWR's. Which is probably where the divide comes from, I can much more easily imagine a smooth manipulator speaking in AWR's voice. Sumalee's is too blunt to be convincing.

 

Of course, now I'm tempted to go back and replay some of the Cullen romance scenes myself, but with Sumalee's voice, though it would sound strange after playing my mage for over 100 hours with AWR's...

Happy Cullen Positivity Week!

Been reading all ur guys writings after playing for over six months not bored. I have to admit love the DA series but with DAI and mainly because of the writing of Cullen his can't really put into words everytime he starts singing can honestly say have only finished with female humans/elves love that the BE has the elven warrior outfit. Back to my point because of this went back bought all DLC for 2. Okay also bought all the books wrote on the DA universe. My hubby thinks I'm a freak but that's okay he still loves me. After all this still want more Cullen only in DAI cause he wasn't ready in the other two. My Hero is happy with Al, and now my Hawke has Seb it's all good. Never thought I could love a series more but this is my addiction so thanks to all that had a hand in making it from the bottom of this Farm Wife/Mom thanks. Waiting for more... With the DLC JOH I play that before Cory cause after u finish can't ask anyone questions or my biggest thing kiss Cullen. Thanks for all u on this board I know I've told u b4 but truly u all r very special to me u treat all with respect hard to find these days okay one more question never played ME like swords more then guns. Is it a shoot them up game or is DA series all I need? Still finding new stuff you all have a great day!!
