LOL Those are awesome. That's *exactly* what my Hawke would do. *sigh* I wish they'd left in something about how the two of them knew each other.

I liked that scene! yes the IQ and Cullen seem to be teachers rewarding a student  like if they prepared the little declaration together, that's cute.

I think it's hilarious that Cullen interrupts with "knight-templar Delrin Barris." It reminds me of when a parent says their child's full name when they're in for a serious telling off. But yeah, it is pretty cute to imagine them planning it all, I imagine it gives Cullen a little reminder that not everything he stood for has turned to ash. I may have to write something about them penning the letter summoning Barris to Skyold, unless something like that already exists.

I didn't have hateful Cullen with Samson's quest, I had that instead, so in my game Cullen seems a lot sweeter  :P (I thought that siding with the Templars might give me more cutscenes with Cullen, or a mission, but it was the opposite. But as I just said, the result is that Cullen seems more peaceful and doesn't talk about Samson.)

I plan to make my second playthrough much darker, with a mage IQ necromancer, talking more sharply, so Samson's quest will fit well in there. But she won't talk sharply to Cullen, anyway, he always have a sweet answer in the romance scenes, so...  ^_^ (I would like to try Bull, but I won't be able to resist to Cullen, so I wonder how far I can go with Bull before still being able to change and romance Cullen?)

You can have sex with Bull and then break it off with him after. I assume you'll still be able to romance Cullen after that.

He doesn't make a comment about it?

Because, well, I've seen a scene of romance with Bull where Cullen and the advisors enter the bedroom and see the IQ and Bull in the bed, and... you can really romance Cullen after THAT?  (he seemed chocked, didn't want to look, haha).

By the way I sent Cullen on the mission about the rumors, the one where he was saying "No, this is ridiculous." And you know what, he did NOTHING! as a result the minstrel said something like "the soldier didn't care and did nothing, go kill yourself on your sword".

Sooo que Inquisitor is supposed to be the boss, but if the advisor doesn't want to do the mission, he just disobeys? just like this? where is my authority?  (Cullen, no sex tonight, you're punished!  :P )

But that was the whole point of "No. This is ridiculous." He's refusing to do anything about the bard spreading rumours because he doesn't see it as important. And by selecting him for that mission, you were agreeing that nothing should be done. He didn't disobey your orders.

To be fair, I think Cullen's solution is a whole lot more reasonable than Leliana's solution of "Let's cut the bard's tongue out."

Ah ok, I thought that you needed a way to deal with this and that he was just saying his own opinion (he thinks it's ridiculous) but you can send him anyway to solve the problem.

I didn't see that as "agreeing that it's ridiculous and do nothing." That's why I was wondering what kind of surprise solution he would find to solve the problem  :P

Yes, Leliana would have gone too far o_o

btw there was something I wanted to tell you! It's dwarf appreciation week on tumblr, I'm not sure if you're interested or already know, but I thought I should tell you.

*snip*

Yes, thank you! I posted my whole crew of dwarven IQs tonight when I got home, and I've been working on something special for tomorrow's dwarven Warden day (the reason I haven't quite gotten back to my Cullen-Surana story after the move.) I wasn't able to do anything for Cullen week, so I wasn't going to miss this one.

Several people have said they did that without problems. With my Solasmance, I tested by reloading from a save just before the last chance to break up with him (almost at the end of the game,) ended it and walked into Cullen's office and was able to launch the entire  romance with Cullen instead. It was just for science, I didn't save (and because I was waiting for the BE to go any further with my Cullenmance :P) Cullen appears to have absolutely no concerns about your past, no matter how recent...

Can also confirm that I broke up with Solas once (ONCE!) in Act 3 to go snog Cullen. But not for science. I'll admit I was full-on rebounding self-destructively. ^_^

You wanted to break Solas' heart, or his romance was so slow that you wanted a change?  :P

For me it wouldn't be for science, it's just that I want to try other romances BUT wouldn't be able to see an unromanced Cullen walking around. It's like Alistair in DAO, even when I wanted to only romance Zevran, I couldn't resist all the flirt options with Alistair.

So there's no comment like "hmm, I thought you prefered Iron Bull?" (I think Cullen makes a comment like this if you romance Blackwall for example).

And so today I could hear the banter between Cole and Blackwall about Josephine, then talked to her about the flowers on her desk, and went to talk to him about Josephine *Inquisitor messing around and teasing them*  :P yes that's so cute, Blackwall goes every day (week?) picking wild flowers for Josephine... it's true that I wish he could do romantic things like this for the Inquisitor, it's a bit lacking in the IQ romance I think.

Cullen is too busy he can't find time to pick flowers anyway, but he's still the cutest

Cullen says those things if you're actively in the other relationship. You have to officially break it off in dialogue first with the other guy/girl if you want to pursue Cullen. Earlier on in the same playthrough, I tried to pursue the heart options I'd saved with Cullen, and he says he heard I was with someone else. I had to choose the break up option with Solas, which you get just before your final romance scene with him (at the time, I had reloaded about a billion times, so I had to . . . take a break in the middle, for my sanity :crying: ).

But as Cullen's romance scenes appear after specific main missions, if you start his romance late in the game, you have all the scenes coming all together, one after the other? I've heard that someone didn't get the lake scene because at that moment of the game it was directly the sex scene that happened, because all the things to launch it were there (finish Wicked hearts/here lies the abyss, etc)

If Inquisitor is in a romance with another LI he'll also mention it/the LI in the chess scene if the heart dialogue option is chosen ("we should spend more time together"), and as others said when choosing the option when he's in his office of wanting to talk.

I got the chess scene comment about it twice, once in a Solas romance, once in a Blackwall one lol.

I got the lake scene, and Solas's breakup is about as late in the game as you can get. But yes, the scenes are all one after the other.

Yes, you'll miss some if you do it too late. For example, Solas breakup is after Templar of Mythal, so you'll miss the chapel scene, for example. I'm not recommending waiting that late, only that it's possible to still begin it EVEN that late.

The prayer scene is supposed to be AFTER "what pride had wrought", right? because when I tried the mission just to check, it started the mission with the Temple of Mythal without showing any church scene. (I had dialogues at the war table then was in the jungle campment).

Oh, agreed, I much prefer the content spread out. Though I thought I got the chapel scene when I tried it, but I'm probably mis-remembering (since I did get it anyway when I reloaded my solasmance.)

I though the chapel scene triggered right away after Temple of Mythal, so almost by definition you wouldn't get the romance part of it if you had to go break up with Solas first? That's what I remember thinking at the time, but it's been a while and there was no method to my madness. Snogging Cullen was just a band-aid before I dove back into the Pain.  =]
