Anyone else hear Cullen laugh about Morvan at the war-table if you decide to give him to Abernache?
It was not just some passing chuckle, it was a legit LOL.
That is now my preferred ruling for his judgment.
I don't even remember who is Abernache. I don't remember Cullen laughing, now I want to seeeeee !!! is there a youtube video somewhere of that?
EDIT: it seems you need to have "knowledge of the nobles" for that choice, and I didn't have it so I didn't get the option. I exiled the guy.

Now I need to complete CotJ with Abernache alive.

Abernache is the nobleman you meet during Champions of the Just quest. He needs to survive for you to be able to assign Movran the Under to him.

Ok, AND he was killed in my game, so I couldn't see that scene
next time I'll try to keep him alive.

Leliana is my main rogue in most of my playthroughs, so the answer is yes
"Softie"
+1 I would buy this item pack on a spot! +2 If it contained not only serious gifts, but also hilarious ones (I still can't get over dog collar).
She was in most of mine too, just because she was always ahead of Zevran in pick-pocket and lock-picking since you could start putting points there sooner. "gathering medicinal herbs" and "training kittens"... ![]()

Oh no I wanted to side with the mages for my next playthrough. So I won't see that anyway. Want the Samson quest and fight with Cully-Wully.

She also starts with a few points in those (unlike Zevran). So she definitely was more useful.
Poor Sten, no one believed him. He even tried so hard ![]()

You should try mages. Before the Dawn is actually really cool quest (even if it didn't have Cullen in it). Him being there is (very) welcomed bonus ![]()
There's also one romance line I really like.

For him to survive...
Spoiler
Works best as a non-human. Easy to refuse the ritual when you do not care about any of the Chantry/Templars/Populace enough to rank them.

What happens if you don't do the flag ritual?
Yes I sided with templars thinking wrongly that I would see more of Cullen but strangely it was the contrary, when I discovered that I missed the only quest where we can travel with him, I was so, so dissapointed. Almost ready to restart my game but after 30h... a lot of people on this forum told me it was not worth it (to restart everything just for this quest), so... it will be for my next playthrough.

Eh, the line is vague enough that it works fine even for super Andrastian Inquisitors too - it just says you're there for a reason and don't have time to waste on little games. The flag stuff is not a sacred religious ritual, it's just a show for Lucius/Envy's entertainment.
What happens if you don't do the flag ritual?
Barris takes you directly the scene where you meet Knight-Captain Denam, and the rest goes just about the same, except Denam doesn't kill Abernache (letting you take a string of war table missions featuring him later). The rest of the quest plays out the same.

If you do the flag ritual Abernache tries to get on Knigh-Captain Denam good side... and dies because he's careless. If you don't, he's more careful and realises that there's something wrong... and that saves his life, he hides. Then he appears with rest of the Templar Order after you defeat Envy.
Oh yeah. I remember that. I was one of those who answered in your thread ![]()

I mentioned that it could still be done but couldn't remember how offhand, and some people were wondering. Slipped my mind last night, but now that I'm home: fast travel to the point near Leliana, go out the first door, and jump off that porch. You land about halfway down the bridge to Cullen's middle door. Makes enough sense to do it that way if you're making the rounds among your companions/advisors between crit path missions.

Yeah, that's what I was picturing at the time, too! I think this is probably what he was referring to, though; it's close enough to the door that he'd hear it, it does save time if you're making your way around Skyhold starting by visiting the library tower denizens, and August seems pretty late in the game for them to have been rearranging stuff.Ah, I was looking for a way to do it from directly above his door, lol.

Sincere apologies to the 99.9% of non-Amell/Surana shipping posters in this thread who either don't bring up their dislike of it at all, or don't bring up their dislike of it unless provoked by other ship hate. I feel like a broken record but I keep coming back here in the last few weeks and finding more of this.
I'll take you at your word that such people exist; I have literally never seen anyone say that, and I actively seek out that pairing whereas you avoid it. Everyone I know in fandom who made fanart / made fanfic / daydreamed of Cullen with their Warden also enjoyed his DA:I romance with the Inquisitor.* All most of us want is to be able to mention liking Cullen x mage!Warden around other Cullen fans without immediately hearing "eww power imbalance" or "I'm so glad she's gone in my continuity so Cullen's heart can belong only to Quizzy", and in my experience, that's not the case in most fan forums. (Even the positivity week had a post that included a discussion of the poster's dislike of it.)
If you don't like it when you feel that people are slighting your ships, a good place to start is avoiding doing the same to them.
Based on how often you bring it up, I get the impression that it really bothers you on some visceral level. All I can offer is that it might help to look for the positive: if Cullen had treated the female mage warden the same way he treats the male mage warden (friendly, but nothing more), he wouldn't have prompted the huge fan response he did, meaning he might not have been so memorable to the writers that they wanted to include him in DA2. And if he hadn't been in DA2, he wouldn't be around for us to romance in DA:I.
And if anyone has ideas for how I can stop being viscerally bothered by other people hating on it, I'm always open to PMs.
* I'd say I like them about equally and I refer to both as OTPs, which is probably misusing the term but whatever. I prefer him with my Inquisitor for a few practical reasons, and I identify more strongly with my Inquisitor, but all of the fanart and fanfic that lured me here to discuss Cullen had him either with the Warden or Hawke. I feel the need to mention that because I'm sincerely not sure whether I'm one of the people whose motives you're interpreting that way in your above post.

Thank you for writing these words for me . I am a Cullen?Amell fan but I also like that he got a love of his own with the Quizzy. I write C/a fanfic but between my bookmarks there are a lot of ff about C/i .

Ooooh... That's what I do every time when I have tour around Skyhold.
Thank you, no falling damage.
I really thought you could get on a roof of his tower and jump from there.

I was actually thinking about the livestream they did when they introduced Skyhold; I think someone mentioned they'd redesigned it a few times. August sounds too late to me too, but I guess I was assuming his reference about the thuds outside Cullen's door had occurred while testing a different layout.
Edit: Cullen group shot for the top of the page
