I believe they still plan on doing a "Wolf hunt" DLC

From the twitter thread:

That doesn't really imply they plan on doing it, only that he's aware people are curious about that spoiler. That could mean anything, from DLC to a new novel to that whole subplot being pushed to the next game to be explored with more resources, or even not being explored at all for two-three games yet (if this DLC involves the Architect, as has been speculated, that will have been two whole games before that major loose thread was addressed again; if not...)

Honestly, after the cautionary tale of Exalted March being announced, entering production and still getting cancelled anyway, I'm wary of taking for granted that any DLC will certainly/definitely happen because we need resolution to seemingly super important open plot threads. Add that to the OGB subplot being handwaved away, the Architect never amounting to anything, the mage war happening almost entirely offscreen, and Hawke's final fate being decided on a completely unrelated side story... this series does not have a great record with tying up loose knots. :/

Anyway, yay new DLC! I'm at work and can't watch the video right now, so what is this about? Deep Roads, as they hinted?

Damn, what a day to drop back into the DAI forums. Now, the real question is...who will be my Team DLC?

 

Bull is LI, so he's a definite. I bet having Varric will come in handy cause dwarf. I'm not sure if I should do Solas or Cassandra though. If I bring Cassandra, it'll only be me as the only mage, a Knight Enchanter. If I bring Solas, I only have one Warrior in the group, and I'm very scared to go up against ogres without two Warriors.

 

Also, I wanna see broodmothers!!!

I`m thinking Blackwall, Varric and Solas/Dorian (I'm still undecided about which mage to take).

I'd be tempted to bring Blackwall if he actually knew anything about darkspawn and Grey Wardens. Solas will probably have something interesting to say, but the forums will no doubt be filled with his utterances within moments. For me, it's got to be Cassandra, Vivienne and then maybe!Varric. 

 

And sadly, part of me is thinking Broodmothers are unlikely.

Yup, Blackwall's useless lol. And you have a point about Solas. I think I'll do Cassandra then. I'll just have to change up my mage's spells so that he's extra support. I imagine that I will be using Barrier, Resurgence, Dispel, and Revival a lot. Throw in some Winter's Grasp and Immolate, and maybe Wall of Ice, and I'll be all set.

 

And dammit, I want a broodmother!

I'd bring Dorian along because I love the necromancer spells and especially that spell to possess the ennemies  and maybe two warriors, Cassandra and Blackwall maybe. Or Iron Bull.

So it is Deep Roads after all?

Hmm... then my squad will be Blackwall for all the Grey Wardens stuff, Dorian in desperate hopes that the Architect is involved and Dorian will get awesome commentary again like he did in JoH, and... Cole, for the no doubt great readings he'll get from the place (and hopefully the darkspawn themselves too). At the level my main is at, everyone is generating Guard/Barrier 100% of the time anyway, so I think we'll handle it even to with just one tank, two rogues and no healing.

Perfect opportunity. I'm quite curious what his deal is and if he recognizes Cory. I "killed him" but it probably didn't stick.

Granted though, we don't know if he can bodyhop like Cory.

If this comes out before I complete my current quizzy (and the way I'm going, it probably will  ), I'll be taking Cass, Varric, and Dorian. My quizzy is the tank with Cass as off-tank and Varric and Dorian as ranged. We always seem to have guard with Cass's ability, so between that and healing and regen potions, I haven't missed having a healer.

 

I have to say I have wondered if there was a connection of some sort between Cory and the Architect. It'd be cool if we learned more in this DLC. I'm not sure if I want to see more broodmothers, though. I was pretty creeped out by them in DAO and DAA.

My Dalish mage will replace Sera with Varric to take Blackwall, Varric, and Solas, just for the conversation potential (with Blackwall getting a good eyeful of his future as a GW.)

 

My dwarven archer will probably kick Viv from her usual party for Varric, so Blackwall, Varric, and Dorian (I'm think if there's a magister involved, having a Tevinter along could be interesting.)

 

My other dwarf runs with Cole, Varric, and Dorian, and I think they could get another fun set of responses - Cole has a lot to say about dwarves off and on. I still don't have a party with IB as a regular - don't really like two handed warriors that much, but I'm told he has some intriguing information on dwarves too at times.

Huh, does look like a big dungeon crawl. I hope the "secret" is something cool. Could be Cory/Architect related, but my money's on lyrium something. Of interest, I don't think I saw any of the red kind in the trailer, just the fancy blue. 

 

And, thank the Maker that it will scale with your level. I finally decided to roll back my Solavellan playthrough to take Solas with me in JoH (don't judge my patheticness!), but my challenge is that she barely finished the game at lev 21. Maybe now I'll wait and take her into Descent first, and then JoH after. Hmmmm.

And I don't know why, but something about that final figure is nagging at me, like I've seen something very like it before...

Nothing to indicate how much story there may be, so we can only hope we might get a little new content from Cullen and the advisors (they had dialogue files that were never used, after all...)

Potato Cat pointed out earlier that any word that Solas utters will hit the forum in seconds, so I'm not so concerned about bringing him now. I feel like I need 2 warriors (Cass and IB) more than I do 2 mages (Solas and me). And I have to have a rogue, cause I'm deathly paranoid about there being chests that I won't be able to open lol.

So, my final group will be

Cass (S&S)

IB (2 Handed)

Cole/Varric (I don't know who would have more to say, to be honest. I'm actually leaning towards Cole now)

Me (Knight Enchanter, specialized in Spirit and Winter)

I suspect, honestly, that Cole may be the better choice for lore references. Though someone pointed out that Varric hates the Deep Roads and dragging him along just to hear him complain can be worth it along.

Edit: Only the guy to the far left looks at all like a traditional darkspawn, unless they're making genlocks look a lot more dwarven. And the blue crystals?
