Awwwwww......
I want those in bobblehead or plushy form.
Hello fellow Cullenites!
I don't know if you've seen these drawings/comics on Tumblr. I find them utterly cute (especially because that's totally something my own daughter could do and she also has lovely curly hair. Only shorter, and she's a brunette...).
Spoiler for size
But for the other Dragon Ages and Mass effect there were DLC with a lot of roleplay, story, new dialogues, new cutscenes with characters... So why are they making only DLC with just dungeons/new map for DAI? I'm waiting for à true roleplay DLC like Awakening.
That may be coming. I suspect the first one, and possibly this one, were planned for DAI itself, but they put them on the back burner because they didn't have the money and time resources to do them as well before the game released. It just makes sense that they'd finish up stuff that was partly worked out in advance and clear them off the table first. Even though I would dearly like more story, etc. (especially for the dwarves who got almost zip for story and a lot of really sloppy cinematics in DAI,) I'd rather they take the time to get them right, especially since they would start knowing they had to adapt them for different races. The Cullen and Solas romance animations in DAI, for instance, show a lot of incredibly meticulous and loving work by several someones (as well as increasing skill with FB,) and that's time consuming to get right. There were complaints, some in reviews I think, when the game released that you didn't revisit the Deep Roads during DAI (a lot of people who are less attached to story loved the Deep Roads, they just don't talk on this thread.)
I think they've said they know people want more story content, but I'm betting they didn't do more than tossing ideas around until the game released and people began pointing out problems and gaps they overlooked. We don't actually know for certain yet that there aren't some cutscenes or dialogue in Descent - they might be trying to avoid spoilers. And there are cutscenes in JoH. However, if it's just the probable absence of Cullen, well, although there are some things they should have addressed connected to him and obviously he was very popular, he also received a lot more content in and out of the romance than most of the others already. And getting GE back to do the VA could be a problem in itself due to his commitments. I would actually be very surprised to see any significant new content with Cullen, to be honest, though they could surprise me. However something they might do if people campaigned very politely are hugs on demand for all LIs. That would mostly require animation and programming I think (no VA,) and might be able to build on work they already did. ![]()

Yeah, all of this. Significant Cullen content has a pretty low likelihood. But at least we've been told that story DLC is coming. It makes sense that those take more time, as well, for all the reasons Tish mentions. Patience in all things. Along with politeness, while we're at it. Jeesh, apparently there has been some strident complaining about The Descent. Too bad.
I’d be very surprised if we don’t get some Cullen content in future DLC, they’ve had leliana’s VA back in recording stuff so I’m taking that to mean there is going to be more content for the advisors at some point in the future, probably this post-ending DLC they keep teasing. I'm not expecting much advisor/cullen stuff, if any, in the descent because I can't really see why he would have that much to say, darkspawn and deep roads aren't really his areas of expertise. I'm happy as long as we get something, even something small like the snarky little messages between the advisors that were in JOH.
Am I the only one who, when hearing Cullen in DAI, thought back to Red Alert 3 ? Greg Ellis was Commander Giles Price in that game. Especially since he is also a military commander in this game.
*ba-dum-bum* Ooo, really bad pun ftw, Sifr
I know, they're my forte...
In other news, putting my Cullenmance on standby to set up a Cadash for the DLC. My Trevelyan doesn't mind, since she's finally gotten an intimate inspection of something belonging to Cullen that has four letters, beginning with d and ending in k...
(That's right, she inspected the Maker out of his desk)

He'll surely show up. But "significant content" is unlikely. They have so many LIs to contend with, for example, that it's unlikely that any one of them will get a significant story line, except perhaps for Solas and that's because of his non-romanced loose ends.

Well given that his romance is supposedly one of the more popular ones I think he stands a better chance of getting some more content than others (looking at you Blackwall) but I agree that it is a tall order to fill. It’s certainly not impossible however, Citadel DLC proved that. Everyone got a look in and this final DLC they’re teasing does sound like it’s going to be massive in scope if they are indeed planning to do everything that was mentioned in the survey.
At this point I've decided significant content for Cullen would be another cut scene at this point.
I'm still hoping for a Citadel like treatment at some point, however.

We can always hope! I always view Citadel as more of an abject fandom apology than an original plan, but who knows what it would take for something similar for DA:I. The devs always seem annoyed that we like the romance part so much, so I'm not holding my breath. Esp since Cullen already has more romance content than some others. But hope springs eternal.
Indeed, even an extra voiced line from him about the romance would be awesome. On the scale of DA2 DLC only banter mentions to DA:Awakenings Alistair-only cameo to ME3 Citadel, I'll be happy if DA:I DLC falls somewhere above middle and every LI got a romance-related cameo.

So, tried jumping off Lel's balcony for the first time to get to Cullen's tower. And having the absolute sense of position that I have, I caught the edge of the wall and went on down to the courtyard ![]()
However, due to that talented and graceful attempt, I now know what spot to jump from. Second try, spot on center of the bridge to his tower ![]()
I disappear for a few days and what happens? DLC annoucement! And Ogres! You can't believe how I missed those ugly bastards!
This requires proper celebration!

I'll not count times I got stuck (and had to jump my way out) in strange places!
But congratulations on finding the spot! Now trip around Skyhold will be even more exciting! ![]()
Edit: Hah! And top of a page! Good I already incuded the picture.

Am I the only one who walks in this game?
No. The only place I found having a mount actually saved me time was the Hissing Wastes, and apparently I'm one of the few people who loved that zone-I actually used the mount to just ride around after I'd cleared most of it to look at different parts. Everywhere else, an attempt to kick the mount into running meant it catching it's stride on a rock in the road and falling out, over and over (not to mention not being able to gather resources from a mount.) I had completely forgotten I had a mount by the time I got to the Hissing Wastes (plus, for some reason, the bog unicorn is bugged for me and freezes my game if I try to summon it.)
Now, if we could see our companions on mounts, at least it could have been entertaining. Even better, Cullen actually riding a fine war horse (to keep it on topic
).

If you mean mount. No, you're not the only one. Two times when I use mount. Quest In The Saddle and that loot in Western Approach which you can reach only with mount (or I just can't reach it any other way).
If you mean jumping. Well...

I love Hissing Wastes! That night sky, those fires seen from afar. Ah...
Also, give me Varric and The Tomb of Fairel quest could be 3 times longer.
Well, you can get your companions on mounts.
Seeing Cullen on horse... I would put him on Bog Unicorn! ![]()
I would use mounts except on the PS4 the controls are weird. I feel like I am actually going slower on a mount than on foot and I also feel like I am going to break my controller.
I love riding horses in TW3 - really makes you feel you are going fast and no controller strain!
I am going to see if I can change the control constellation on the game and see if that helps.

If you mean jumping. Well...
Yea, actually I meant sprinting and jumping everywhere... now I see I am the only one who doesn't do it...

Do we actually see Cullen riding a horse, in some war cutscene? I don't think so but it would have been great ![]()

I feel exactly the same. My mount seems very slow and it's not easy to make it sprint, and it stops every time there is a rock or something... I feel like I'm going faster on foot.
But I also like "walking" (instead of "running") in the main hall of Skyhold or in the Winter palace, to look more elegant
(did you ever imagine Cullen in that uniform he has in the Winter Palace, but in white? it would be so nice).
