^ that may be why, Knight-Enchanters are practically like playing in godmode. I wouldn't count KE playthroughs as the typical, that's probably what's skewing the average completion time.
In any case, I just finished it with my Artificer archer at level 26 on Nightmare with around 12 hours, accounting for all side quests, collections and expeditions. I know I'm a hella slow player though (my DA2 playthroughs go over 100+ hours on a game that shouldn't take more than 50/70, for instance) so I'm also an outlier; I'd guess the average is around 7-8 hours for general players, give some if on Nightmare, take some if playing KE.
Now to go back all these pages on the thread and look at all the spoilered discussion I was avoiding before!
I made that post when I was still in a middle of the DLC ![]()
Well, it took me 11 hours total
So by your post... either I'm really bad at playing Knight Enchanter or this DLC is so captivating that you don't want to finish it.
Latter, it's the latter. I'm not that terrible.

I agree with Tishina. Lovely idea of romantic.
How can you access all these war table missions if you're not in Skyhold?
And a little pic of Cullen, because I love his expression on this
(like: "hey, you're missing me while your are in the Deep roads, I know it.")

How can you access all these war table missions if you're not in Skyhold?
Very minor spoiler, not sure if worth cutting: (if someone wants me to cut it anyway, though, just ask!)
There's an expeditions table at your local camp that only shows missions taking place in the Deep Roads itself. You don't have access to the normal war table missions, but you do still interact with the advisors via their choice cards. Hence my theory that they must have come along with your entourage, at least until the very first level (the main camp), because this place is around the Storm Coast and it's a long way from Skyhold to be writing back and forth asking for advice for things that need to be done right now.
Right so I’m about to start the descent, what companions do you guys advise on bringing? Who has the most interesting stuff to say because I’ve heard that certain companions don’t really talk all that much and Varric is pretty much just complaining the entire time like in JOH.

I got good commentary with Cassandra and Blackwall. Cassandra surprisingly spoke a lot, Blackwall a little less, but if you like the character it's worth taking him. I shuffled the fourth spot between Cole and Dorian- Dorian was a little chatterbox, he had something to say about everything; Cole spoke less often, but his lines were always really interesting.
eta: oh, and not related to party but, the Arcane, Nobility and History Knowledge perks are used a lot in this DLC for alternate dialogue options, so it's worth investing points in them.

I've heard, though it may depend on other factors, that Iron Bull has the most to say, but Riverbanks has most of the others I've heard mentioned, plus Blackwall because I hadn't heard him mentioned before. Varric and Solas don't have much to add even if your IQ is a dwarf.

Lol, I pulled it off in about 5-6 hours total on Nightmare as a KE.^ that may be why, Knight-Enchanters are practically like playing in godmode. I wouldn't count KE playthroughs as the typical, that's probably what's skewing the average completion time.

KE master race!!!!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Again, I don't like playing mages to begin with, and on top of that I prefer a good challenge to playing godmode, so OP builds like Arcane Warrior/Knight Enchanter continue to be the least interesting classes for me. To each their own - even if it takes me twice as long to finish, or two wipes and a party shuffle to defeat the boss, I'm still much happier with my humble little non-master race heroes.
Semi-related: speaking of completion times and completionist runs...Spoiler
Even when I'm playing class like KE, I still like to take my time. And I rarely pick builts that others call "OP".

Don't hesitate to post the funny/interesting comments Cullen may have for the War table missions of the DLC
Unfortunately, that's the only funny one. The rest of them were all variations of "our soldiers can do this" and "our soldiers will do that." He wasn't in a very playful mood down there, it seems!
(...maybe because they're under a mountain and his claustrophobia is acting up, Maker this is turning into a plot bunny, send help)

As they didn't record any new dialogue for him, they could at least add some interesting written comments... but even that...
this DLC seems cool, but totally un-Cullen-ish.
Not DLC related in the least, but I got a laugh as I was working on fic recently.
We now have a birth year for Cullen (9:11 Dragon) which would make Hawke the older woman (9:05 or 9:06) in any pairing.
Also found it odd that Cullen is Knight Captain at 20. That's a hell of a rise. I suppose they hadn't really established him as much in DA 2, but I wouldn't have trouble believing there might have been talk of him sleeping his way up.
Yeah, the young age is... odd, to say the least. As for being so young at his promotion, I like to headcanon that his precipitous rise contributes to friction with other, Marcher templars and isolates him from them. As for sleeping his way to the top, David Gaider has confirmed there was none of that with Meredith.
Yes, I can't imagine Cullen doing... things with Meredith in order to reach that rank.
Maybe he was just very skilled or he did show his bravery on the field or something.
But yes, we can imagine other templars spreading rumors about his promotion.
So it means that Cullen is 29-30 in DA:I, right?

It seemed to me like Cullen got the position cause he shared Meredith's views of Mages and she wanted Templars with views like hers higher up in the chain on command.
That's what I got from it also.

I'm pretty sure I've heard someone say that, either it was Cullen or someone else. But still, I'm pretty sure I've heard it somewhere in game...

Yeah, I always figured that even with all that he suffered in the tower that lead to Cullen being a little out of sorts for a while, that Greagoir still gave him a glowing recommedation based on his dedication to the job and how much he poured of himself into it.
And obviously, he never slept to the top with Greagoir either, which probably doesn't need to be said.
(Not that I don't enjoy the idea of Greagoir being a silver fox and/or gay knight in shining armour, I'd just prefer that to be without any unfortunate implications attached, y'know?)
