So 2 years time skip. Ben-Hassrath agents come out of an eluvian and are like 'That magic hand of yours is well dangerous, guess we'll have to kill you.' Cut to grand procession to a grand Orlesian building, (Grand Cathedral?) with your advisors, and what seems to be high ranking members of the Chantry, (and possibly Divine Vivienne?), deny the Inquisition help because it's a troublemaker, iirc, and Alix Wilton Regquisitor is angry that Ferelden and Orlais is angry at her too when she saved them. So everyone's angry at the Inquisition and they have to deal with the Qunari on their own it seems. Also, Solas. And the Inquisitor angrily stabs a table. Because what would this game be without that?

It seems totally out of character because the eluvians are clearly super magical and the Qunari really fear magic. How could they even know what they do? And I really want to know how this will be affected by the result of IB's personal quest when you didn't save the Chargers. Obviously, the alliance is over, but will IB betray us? (Pleasepleaseplease, I want the drama!!!) Will we get our Divine back for adventuring? Will we get to make more kissy faces with Cullen?

That's all eluvians really were: magical teleporting mirrors. I have a feeling that Solas may have something to do with the fact that they're appearing everywhere now.

Mmm, maybe, maybe not. They were saying that we find out the *real* threat, and it sure seems to involve the Qunari. Hard to imagine that that's Solas's doing since we haven't seen anything that points to such a connection.

Masked Empire goes on and on for like three chapters about how terrible and uncomfortable and nauseating it is for anyone but elves to travel the crossroads between eluvians, and how every time Celene, Gaspard and Michel come out of one they're just about ready to crawl into a fetal position and die... so how are qunari just popping out of eluvians now all pumped up and ready to kick ass?

Maybe they aren't affected by it like elves aren't? Or maybe they're dumping that detail like they did for the Flemeth encounter? And if they aren't affected it would make sense for them to bypass all that pesky enemy territory to just zoom up and sneak attack the Inquisitor. But even then it makes no sense because they'd have had to have learned how to use this clearly magical artefact when they're terrified of the very concept. The pessimist in me is starting to expect massive plotholes in exchange for sexy, DLC selling promises.

I've never been a fan of time skips but is it possible that it leaves open the possibility for more DLC that takes places within that two years? And that they're releasing the endgame DLC to keep Inquisition relevant? I don't want it to end T^T

Hmm good questions. I suppose it does give them some room for other cut content to be added back in and such. It also doesn't monkey with much of folks' headcanons for what happened just after endgame, which is kind of nice.

It still more or less applied, I think. The only time we see the crossroads is when you go there with Morrigan, and everything around you is blurry and distorted, with this mirror effect all around. In the novel that's how Michel sees things in the crossroads too, while Briala sees everything crisp and clear. What they got wrong with this scene, I think, was that elven Inquisitors should have seen the scene without the same distortions that humans, dwarves and qunari would see.

It's more than just distortions, tho. My Trev was just trekking along, no indication that she was sick or tired or whatever. I dunno. Still really didn't seem like what we read about in TME. And, Michel is just human so should feel the same.

I don’t think it’s necessarily they forgot it, more that they probably didn’t have time to implement it. It would’ve meant doing multiple versions of various cutscenes showing non-elf quizzies suffering plus more dialogue explaining why they feel that way and so on.
