LOL No, not really at all, since Witch Hunt was pretty much a kick in the teeth for folks who wanted closure for their Warden with Morrigan. So, now Trespasser may be more similar to being 'Wolf Hunt' than I realized.  :? I don't think it means the breakup is necessarily permanent, but Solasmancers will only have a small window to resolve their story with him before he goes off to do the rest of his story in potential future installments either without her or with her as an NPC in the future. It's something. But not what, at least, I had hoped.

I honestly never actually hoped for more than being to follow him through the Eluvian to do whatever. Two things that are relatively certain are that he won't be a romance option again and she won't be a playable character.

I admit, right now I've swung really far toward pessimism. I have yet to get anything I really wanted in DAI in terms of romance, lol, though the Solas-Lavellan pair would come close if she did get to stay with him, so the fact I'm hoping for even that much probably means it won't happen. Apparently I'm constantly at the opposite pole of what they think people want.

So we will meet Solas once again in Dragon Age 5 and there he will talk about how Lavellan is elsewhere raising their children ? Because that's what Morrigan does.

Or if he mentions her, it's that she's off doing something important like the Warden.

Speaking of loose ends that I've despaired of them wrapping up, I know they won't bring the Warden back as a playable character, but they're wrapping up DAI, and the Warden has now been missing at least 4 years, if not 6 or 7, sigh. Nice to dangle the possibility of curing the taint so our Wardens can actually have a happy ending and then let it vanish into the void, sigh.

I mean, even the Sebastian romance got more closure and post-game content than the Zevran romance, and if that's not saying something...

Yeah, I noticed, lol. I pretty much batted 0 for 0.

And I suspect Hellion Rex is talking about a fan fic, lol.

This is why I maintain high approval for everybody.

Me too. Everyone stayed by my side at the end. I also like how Cole will be much different in this based on the path we set him on.

I dunno, never say never. He's been in every game, as has Leliana, and she even died! But he'll probably never have as large a role again.

Double-edged knife, isn't it? On one hand, thinking that this is likely the last we'll see of him is pretty sad. On the other hand, the poor man's been through so much, he deserves to get his riding-off-into-the-sunset happy ending. On one hand, Alistair showing up again to be all lovey-dovey over his waifu was really cute, and would be lovely to see with a romanced Cullen in the future too - on the other hand, he could possibly die, which none of us want for our little noodle.

I don't know if I even want my Inquisitor to show up again, at least not in the way that Hawke did. My Hawke possibly dying and leaving Sebastian all alone again was a terrible thought - I'd never want to have to make the same choice with my Inquisitor, or think about Cullen dealing with the death of his love. Too sad, too sad. If it was a given that we'd see Cullen happy and safe, great. But if it came between getting that kind of return (because it's BioWare, no one is ever safe) or just not seeing Cullen and Quizz again at all, I think I'd rather just keep my happy ending headcanons.

He probably will have a cameo in a future game but that also means he wouldn't be with the IQ [distance wise, I'm not talking about their relationship] and I don't want them apart lol, that holds the possibility that he could get hurt! It is pretty bittersweet I guess. I just really hate change and I don't like things ending, which is why I have a tendency to hold off finishing/beating games for months when I get near the end. Tbh I'm not sure I've ever been so attached to video game characters as much as with this game (+DA in general), and I mean everyone not just Cullen (I haven't played ME yet) and ugh, the feels. I can't handle it.

Ummm, wha? I just meant Jon Curry, who voices both Zev and the American Inquisitor (which I used), got to do the nasty with Iron Bull. So, Zevran rode the Bull in spirit lol

Oh! I was kind of stumped on what you meant, lol. I was pretty sure I'd have heard about it if Zevran had dropped by and had a fling involving the IB...

Which in and of itself is a wonderous image...

The other wonderous image that came to me at dinner.

a Inquisition version of Shep and Garrus' "date" during Citadel.

Jon's awesome! We've been chatting on Twitter. He told me he's excited about a small role he got in a upcoming film after I told him I remembered him in an episode of Frasier. I can honestly say Zevran was modeled after him when I watch that episode.

Must be time to sleep then, since I've officially gotten a little slow. :P

If only Ser Barris wouldn't be sometimes dead! :single tear:

Although seriously... no. I'm sort of approaching numb about it, now that the end is nigh. It's been a long road.

A thought. I've been postulating why we saw the Anchor flaring so many times in the trailer. Both the Anchor and eluvians are elven magic that deal with interdimensional teleportation. I'm wondering if somewhere during the DLC, we manage to use the Anchor to force open the mirrors to counteract the Qunari, which in turn causes us pain. In particular I'm thinking of the scene where Alix talks about her hand wanting to kill her. It even looks like the damn Anchor is levitating her in the air while paining her.

Lol if anything It'd be like Alistair's warden cameo. But I don't understand why we can't have HoF and Hawke make bigger appearances. Couldn't we just choose their dialogue options as well? As long as it isn't a huge role I don't see where the issue would be. *shrugs*

But my Lavellan will not be the PC in the next game. So for my romance, it's now or never.

long sad sigh. That is actually far more depressing than I would've expected.

I'm still holding out hope that as we have a chance to choose how to wrap up the Inquisition this means, that our Solas romancers can choose to just disappear with him. Then maybe we can come back in a new game as his sidekick or something lol.

And YAY more Cullen.

I'm wondering if the, you can still play after the main game, is going to continue after playing this dlc. If yes then will they have fixed the not being able to interact with anyone. Because if this is the last dlc :( I want to be able to get some repeatable hugs at least, maybe a quarters scene like in mass effect. Something that makes post game playing more alive at least.

For Cullen in next games, they can do what they did with Alistair. If you romanced Cullen in DA:I, he can drop a line like "I have to leave, many things to do. And my loved one is waiting for me" (with a smile) something like this. It could be sweet.

LOL I think she meant Cullen for DA4. Down, boy. We can all try to use our powers for good on behalf of Ser Barris. Gay or otherwise, that boy needs to not be dead.

LOL Whelp, that's something that hasn't happened in a while. My Likes are gone, but LIKE! Yeah, that's my hope as well. My Solavellan depression is starting to see the lighter side. <_<

On playing the other DLC after Trespasser, TBH, I'll be surprised. With DA2, they had Varric's framing story to explain why you were popping around in the space-time continuum, but I personally think that's harder with DA:I. The two DLC we have already have been a bit limited in their pre- vs. post-game mentions, making it plausible that they are set at any point with or without a live Cory. But Trespasser is two years later, with a very different worldstate, it sounds like. I don't think they have a plausible mechanism for you to go backwards in time even with the War Table. My guess is this is it for your IQ's story if you play it. Plus, we know there won't be anything else released, so this really is it and I'll bet that players will just have to plan accordingly.

Some of the issue with HoF at least is the lack of voice. There was huge concern in the fan community about BW just assigning a voice to your headcanon'd Warden.

But as far as providing agency for your PCs, the devs have been very clear: once your PCs' stories are done, those characters now belong to the writers, and what happens to your characters is up to BW. DG and others have even gone so far as to hint that they plan to provide even less open endedness in future installments, because the heroes have too many variables. This is why so many folks are worried our IQ will die.

My own feeling is that this is why Trespasser is being considered an epilogue. Whatever is going to happen to your IQ after it, ideally it seems you will get to decide. But that'll be it. You'll choose your epilogue and never have control over that story again.

Fortunately, the Dragon Age series has been much better when it comes to handling old PCs than certain other BioWare franchises. Personally, I'd take my PC dying over being retconned into non-existence.
