In origin one templar in Denerim who stop taking lyrium gets mad.

The effect of the lyrium change like the quanaris and elfs in every game?

Cullen does say when you talk to him about it that some do go mad, and others die, but Cullen's been off the stuff since leaving Kirkwall, and he's fighting it. Cassandra also says it is possible, and she always believe it could be done. Addiction can be fought, with support. Be it in fantasy or the real world.

They're playing it close to the vest because they most likely haven't put together anything to pitch yet. They need something to show the guys are the top before they get the green light.

DAI had the biggest release in Bioware history, and that includes things like Baldur's Gate 2. EA mentioned it in their earnings call as being partially responsible for that quarter's success, which was unexpected, especially since it was mentioned in the same "breath" as some of EA's big hitters.

I'll also point out that Magekiller is coming out soon. You don't continue to support a franchise you're closing down with ancillary material.

There'll be another game, unless something major happens between now and then, and when I say major, it's in the earthshaking category.

If we don't hear anything in about a year and a half, maybe two, since this is going to be MEA all the time when 2016 hits and the the new IP. A year and a half to two years. And remember, the panel was also about the future. They just can't confirm anything that EA hasn't said yes to yet.

And I hope you're okay,Akaneryuu, unlucky events seem to be a trend lately.

You are probably right. It's to soon anyway to talk about a new game since they have lots of other things going on. I just got really attached to thedas would be heartbroken if they wouldn't let me see anymore of it.

Also I am fine thank you, had and still have some health issues but hey I am still breathing so thats a win for me. Have to be positive wich is kinda hard sometimes.

The old Templar in Denerim didn't stop taking it. (The warden can ask why he doesn't just stop taking it, to which the other templar says 'he wouldn't be templar any more) It was just the eventual outcome after so many years of taking it.

Cullen had already been off the stuff for months before the game started, given the game likely takes around a year or several months at least, he was probably over the hard part already.

I know Cullen is strong for what happen in the Circle, but it's strange a happy ever after for him.

Sometimes the good guys actually win. It may not always be a complete win, but it's been known to happen :)

There was a second Templar, a bann's brother who was locked up and denied lyrium by Howe who was also in bad shape. But it wasn't by his choice and he had no support.

I think from things the devs have said that DAI takes at least a year (which seems short to me) to as much as 3, though now I wonder if that was projecting ahead for Trespasser. But by the defeat of Cory, he'd been off it for about a year and a half.

Please, this is a polite thread, where people are civil to each other and supportive about one of their favorite characters. If you just want to throw mud, please don't.

Oh yeah, I forgot about him. But yeah that was a different circumstance.

He has stated how much he regrets the way he has treated mages in the past, he wasn't himself.

Can't really blame him for that after what hes been through, the whole circle tower dilemma was still fresh in DA2, heck he is not even fully over it in DA:I. It was just a phrase he said a long time ago. He even admits it was wrong to think like that.

I am not sure what we are talking about. I was just saying people tend to say things they dont mean when mad or scarred by something.

Somehow this really scares me  :(

Btw haven't posted in here for a while got struck by a couple of unlucky events. Have a lot of catching up to do.

Naw, don't be scared. Even if they had DA4 half designed already, they're not allowed to talk about it before it has been greenlit. Add to that what Ariella said about how sucessful DA:I is, and it would be really odd for them not to continue the franchise. "we can't talk about it" means just that. Besides, they've already talked here and there about storylines they'd like to do in the future, plus Mike's five game series comments and all that. So, all signs point to a DA4 yes.

And, hope all is well! <3

I mostly play mages and I hate that they get a raw deal and wish things could be so much easier for them, but even then I can understand why Cullen was the way he was. He trusted mages, he felt sorry for them having to be victims of circumstance and what did he get for his compassion? It would take a saint to forgive and forget that so easily. He reacted like any one would when put in that hell.

Incidentally, this is also a misquote. "Mages can't be treated like people. They aren't like you or me. They are weapons They have the power to light a city on fire in a fit of pique."

Thing is... he also basically has a point. Nevertheless, this isn't the place to start a mage vs. templar debate. We're open to discussing the character pros and cons, and Cullen has both. But let's have a reasoned discussion without flinging hyperbolic and unfounded accusations.

DA4 sounds nice, but I will need some time to get over DA:I..sigh can't believe the last dlc is coming out next week. :(

And things are going a bit better now so thank you. I am super gladd to be back, now I can keep up with all the funny and nice posts in this thread. I missed it so much  :D

I know what you mean. I guess I had expected at least a couple more, I dunno, armor packs or something. LOL But, the epilogue does sound exciting.

Glad to have you back!

(I would recommend not indulging certain users known to commonly refer to Cullen as "psycho magekiller Nazi" too much, they're not really here for any sort of serious, respectful discussion.)

He was locked in a tower full of abomantions! And he was the only Templar that survived too! So he had to watch his friends die/get possessed/used by demons so you can understand that's why he's... Kind of... The way he is in DA2 (also Merdiths influence, most likely, he did say that she fueled his anger for mages in DAI)

Btw, Patch is apparently live.

Ah! It came out much sooner than they said, that's awesome! This gives me enough time to push my final playthrough to the post-game with all the collectibles and schematics, and play everything on the right save. *__*

So can someone confirm... will the Golden Nug sync my mosaic pieces across playthroughs? I'm determined to SOMEDAY finish one!

I said the same thing almost 1 year ago. I always end up missing one piece and being to lazy to look for it. I tried googling the map for them and ended up closing it and walking away from the pc.

I think I'm just going to linger here till Tuesday. With the week that I've had, I don't need to see Mike and co teasing on twitter, then wacky rampant speculation

Who was the artist whl had Cullen in Human Alliance dress blues? I need a copy of that.

And on the topic of lyrium addiction. Got the perfect song.

Linken Park, Breaking the Habit.
