On the Wardrobe, even MLaidlaw mentioned that he expects the wardrobe slots to soon be placed by modder outfits, so I think it's just a matter of time. I haven't checked them out yet, but the few that I've seen are... well, still nude colored, for starters. Did they not get what we didn't like about the pajamas?? /facepalm 

 

TBH, I'll bet it's a question of designing each outfit to work for both genders. coughcough. 

I have a super modded game. I like putting clothes on my inquisitors that look fitting for their race and gender. Also Halamshiral finery retexture was a must have especially the Exquisition retexture I almost peed a little when i saw it in the game... it looks so good.

There are 3 or 4 sets each of the pajamas and the formal uniform in different colors (though still including the beige horrors.) 4 sets of leather (2 short like the one Riverdance put up and two longer) and 2 sets of metal armor, one silver, one gold. There's some color choice, but I was a bit disappointed in the colors for the leather; I find them all a little bland.

Yeah the Exquisition mod is really nice, I'm considering using it in place of my dalish keeper robe retexture for halamshiral on my current playthrough.

Just a minor point (that I always seem to be pointing out ), but only one of Cullen's two possible DAO ending slides (the mage-siding one) has the "snapped and killed three mages" rumor - the Templar-siding slide makes him the next Knight-Commander in Greagoir's place, instead. So not only that slide is not canon because the devs have confirmed all slides as only rumors, it's also not canon because there are versions of the game's ending where that slide doesn't even exist, and the rumor about him is completely different.

 

Otherwise, very interesting post and theory, and it does make Cassandra's general behaviour in DAI make a lot more sense, specially in how she and Leliana "remember Justinia differently" and attribute completely different purposes to the Inquisition.

Bad news, however, is the body-size mod only works with the pajamas slot for now. Which is fine by me; while I wouldn't have minded at least a couple of sets of the leather gear and maybe the armor (with a modded body,) I generally like the stuff I'd added with mods better anyway.

To have some variety can't be a bad thing .

I had a quick peek at the wardrobe and I think the new clothes are really an improvement. For me they work very well. There are some in white, grey or blue now. Some players probably wanted fancier outfits but the end of the world isn't a fashion show .

Yeeey! \o/ For now, most mods that change gameplay are still broken, of course (unfirtunately some older ones don't look like they'll ever get updated at this point, but that's the nature of modding), but at least the aesthetics ones (hairstyles, face textures, outfits) are all working.

They should think about all the players who play on PS4 or XboxOne, who don't have access to mods (I don't like playing on PC/keyboard, except for Mass Effect because I can't shoot with a gun with anything else than a mouse  )

 

They shouldn't act like "We don't give them much choice, but hey, the modders will do the rest". No. Everyone doesn't play on PC.

Oooh, there are actually a lot of hair mods out at this point. I'd look at these two posts:

• DAI Hair Mod Compendium Part 1
• DAI Hair Mod Compendium Part 2

They're the most organized listings for hair mods I've seen, grouping them by which vanilla hair they replace, so you don't have to guess around which one conflicts with each other. (and even still, they're missing a few newer ones that you can find on the nexus by looking at the most recent files)

 

Hair doesn't quite work like it did in DAO/DA2, so you can't have every single modded hairstyle in your game at the same time - we can only replace the current hairs with mesh edits, so if two mods replace the same hairstyle, you have to choose one. But even so, there's quite a few to work with, and you can always mix and match different hairstyles with each race and gender.

That's why I expected them to do at least a few new hairstyles before they wrapped it up. Apparently all the devs like buzz cuts I guess, lol.
