On another note, regarding Cullen in the DLC, I swear Bioware stalks all the tumblr and fanfic posts. I swear what majority of people hoped for happened. Thus I am so darn happy. Just..... so happy.

This is what I thought, too. Like, i swear they have to be following our discussions, the wording of certain things was too coincidental to things that've been said here before.

 

I took forever at the palace then tried to speedrun after a certain point just to see the ending but had to stop halfway through around 3am too. It can take quite a few hours to complete, even if you're not being very throughout. But between "that" scene and something else I've been spoiled to in the ending that's already spawned so many post-story headcanons, I don't even care what else happens in this DLC. I'm leaving this game a very happy camper.

The text for the slider reads: "After the Inquisition disbanded, Cullen and the Inquisitor retired to private life together."  I love that the background looks vague enough that it could be anywhere you want your IQ to retire to. My post-story headcanon of them retiring to a private estate near Ostwick fits perfectly into this scenario, I love it; but you could easily imagine this is near South Reach, or anywhere in the Fereldan bannorn, if you want them to stay more lowkey.

 

AND HE KEPT THE PUPPY. LOOK AT NOODLE AND HIS PUPPY. 

The arm thing is incredibly sad for my IQ, being an archer and kinda needing both arms to shoot. Finding out this happens is one of the (many) reasons I decided to disband and let my baby retire to have some peace with her Cully Wully by the countryside, after all. He looks so happy, though, so happy to just be with his lady and his dog, I can't even be upset.

Well, this slide is more a combination of not romanced + kept on lyrium + that specific Inquisition fate.

He doesn't have much purpose left without the Inquisition, since he's not romanced he doesn't even have the IQ to live for, and the addiction takes him. It's grim, but under those circumstances, not unexpected.

 

I have a lot of thoughts about how it only takes a few steps for Cullen to be in Samson's shoes and how that makes me hate Before The Dawn even more than ever, but I'm too happy with what happened a little earlier in my game to care right now so I'll just focus on the good Cullen outcomes, lalala~

 

Also, lol I hope this makes Cullen's haters happy, now they can give him a horrible ending if that's what makes their little bitter hearts content.

I was very happy with most stuff.

However, I was disappointed that there was no mention of how the IQ managed to help get Cullen off lyrium if she chose to keep him on it throughout the main story (and at the end of the main campaign chooses "now it's time to move on..."). It seems like Trespasser just treated that whole scenario the same as if you told him to stay strong and not take it - there ended up being no difference. Kinda takes the wind out of the sails for an angsty Templar romance. And what of a Templar IQ? I suppose they left it open for head-canons...I can go on believing that Rhiannon found a way to use her abilities without lyrium with the help of the Seekers that Cass rebuilt. Overall I was happy with the romance though. But Rhiannon did get her teeth kicked in over other stuff....stuff...stuff....that and I never got Blackwall's approval high enough for his crisis quest to trigger in the main campaign so he didn't even show up in the DLC. I'm not sure I could go back and fix that because I've done everything I can and at the end I still can't get his approval high enough. And she and Solas hate each other throughout the main campaign. And that ending slide for a Cullen-mance with disbanded Inquisition! Totally love the lack of children BUT THEY GET A FUR-BABY!!! I chose to disband because of the arm too...that and Rhiannon's professional composure finally cracked. That swear scene fit PERFECTLY. It all just got too heavy...and a particular turn of events resulting from telling someone way earlier to follow her lead and "do your duty" was the straw that broke the camel's back. Duty be damned she couldn't take it anymore and walked away from all the crap.

Oh and mods people...don't bother, lol. Well, I was able to get through with just facial mods for Rhiannon...companion/adviser mods don't even show up...if you can get them to load. And there's one specific scene with Viv where any modded patch whatsoever will insta-crash so you need a 100% vanilla patch to run it.

I'd love to see your ideas on how a sword n' board would be able to adapt. Seriously, I'd love to see them because I felt terrible for my girl! It's kinda odd that on one hand it says that the IQ retires with Cullen, but on the other hand, it shows the "core group" planning in a dank dungeon-looking place (secret lair!) about how to take on Solas. I guess Rhiannon really did take Lel's advice and make it appear that she retired off to a quiet life, but really didn't do anything of the sort. In the end, she only has Cullen, Lel, Cass, and Harding (which I assume Sera must be around somewhere with her Widdle!). I wonder if I would have ended up with more people in that final scene in the secret lair if I had made different choices? And are we still absolutely positive beyond a doubt that our IQ isn't the protag for the next game? Obviously we're going to Tevinter, and our IQ is plotting it out...so it seems like he/she will be in the forefront of the action. Not sure how they'd write someone else in if it's not going to be the IQ. Unless the new protag is from Tevinter and has no connection up til that point. Either way, it seems like we'll be seeing our IQ again, even if only like what they did with Hawke. Boy wouldn't it be nice to see Cully-Wully as a cameo in the next game!

Oh well, I'm not actually going to ever do this to Cullen. Now that I know it's an ending dependent on three choices, my dwarf inquisitor can avoid the "bad" by maintaining her power even after endgame.

Ahh, hope you will stay completely unspoiled. I was happy I have managed so. One thing I will say that just playing through this dlc made me realize how I love this game, with all its annoyances, small and big. I had a legit tear in my eye (and stupid grin) most of the time. The complexity of the world and it's lore just makes me tip my hat to DA team. And the followers content

Nuu, let's keep it unspoiled at least for a week or so (and for major spoils maybe longer?), since it is nice to jump in not knowing stuff, even if it's a little thing like banter or small follower scene

Aww, I quite liked that little contraption on Quizzie's hand in Red Jenny slides but I guess little crossbow is not the same as kickass bow. All in all I sorely miss the arm on all my quizzies. Actually the best case scenario could be for dw rogues, with a dagger being a permanent fixture.

 

I am super curious, what choices most people made regarding the future of the Inquisition. I also disbanded it. Still wonder if it is a better option but, since it seems that the Inquisition still exists, I probably prefer it low profile on most of my pts. Cannot wait though for more political power hungry pc to tackle that part.

 

I couldn't play my Cullenmance Trev yet cause of my completionist shenaningans so I still have all the goodies to experience but the final slide for him was nice. Basically the same as yours minus the quizzy. Still with the pooch
