I don't remember ever seeing the Lion helm in any of my games ever. We only saw it in that one trailer as I recall, and that particular scene doesn't appear in the game.

The scene is there it's just had the camera angle changed, and Morrigan removed, it's at the beginning of the Arbor wilds when he is overseeing his troops.

 

The helmet isn't in my game either (thank the maker) wouldn't want to see it on him at all though it might have been nice seeing it sitting on a shelf,

 but then someone edited it to include mention of Patch 7 for "some players." Sooooo.... dunno. Now I'm puzzled. My suspicion is bullsh!t.

 

Without going much into it, yeah, that helmet appearing on patch stuff 7 was made up by someone on reddit who was really intent on making a point about the lion imagery. It's bs, the helmet was never used on that scene. First and only time it ever showed up in-game was on that one Trespasser tile.

Isn't that helmet in one of the Trespasser epilogue slides for him now? seems devs went ahead and made it definitely his helm because of its popularity.

I believe the helm didn't show for those that had hide helmets in their settings.  It's really unfair that they hid the helmets including one in an important scene and yet forced us to have a helmet on Solas at the Winter Palace.  My settings were off.  That means all helmets should be...off.

Hey, you can't have Alistair without his cheese (now, anyway, lol, thanks for reminding me...) You could also give Sten a mabari-retrieved cake and Leliana teased him about cute things he did, so I think those were intrinsically part of the contradiction in his personality that they were trying to project.

 

Yeah, I'm not really sure why they added the helm to his kit at the same time they said it was slapped on him for a temporary animation emergency, lol. I don't hate the helm, but had no attachment to it at all either. I'd rather see his face.

No, the devs have confirmed that hide helmets has no effect on anyone outside your party. Cullen's helmet is simply not there. But I agree with you on Solas's horribly clipping helmet! Why, BW?!? Why?!? LOL

I dunno... it could have been included in the kit so that anyone working on a video with his footage would have it to cover that gltch. Or maybe someone just thought it funny to leave in there? Watch us squirm? I kind of liked the idea that Cullen's family had some sort of affiliation with the lion in Orlesian circles - back before we knew about his background and all. But then it probably would have uncomfortably reminded me of the Lannisters and then Game of Thrones... :/ So it's probably better any significance it had was lost. Well, to me anyway.

LOL Yeah, it's kinda sad. I honestly don't have anything I'm interested in speculating about with him right now, but that's probably because of a certain bald elf of shifting allegiances who has distracted me.  

 

BUT! I am working on the next chapter of Fool's Errand as we speak. Just trying to get past my distraction.  The chapter itself is about done, but I think I need to put the next in the hopper as well before I release it since it's a continuation of the same scene. Just in case. It's, um, shaping up!  Hee hee hee.

Well, for myself, I can say I'm not distracted by eggs. If anything, Cassie's romance is sneaking its way back into my heart this week.

 

But actually I'm distracted by Cullen himself, trying to write this thing that doesn't seem to work because he won't cooperate. Mia was right, Cullen can be impossibly stubborn when he wants to.

I don't care for the helm either, my love. I think the whole lion thing is cool though. Just needs to be done better.
 

I will! I'm FINALLY nearing a point I haven't played yet from my previous PT from before my PS3 choked on the game so I'm excited to see new stuff! I let Hubs hog the PS4 when he bought Witcher III since I was feeling kind of bummed about the whole DAI crash and not wanting to start over again so soon. But now, I just need more free time. So I'll be posting my squees here.   I ALMOST managed to avoid even the spoiler of his family name but it gets used so much now, it kind of snuck in but I'm otherwise unspoiled. It's been a wretch keeping awayf from youtube videos and such. I knew if I watched the footage, I'd have a harder time wanting to play. lol! Other than Blackwall's story and I know Solas has something going on; I can say I know nothing of how the game ends. Wooo!
