I've still never played through the Samson quest with a Cullen-romanced IQ, so I can't say first hand, but I've seen the flirts, and they're... cute. Seems they're most relevant to a mage IQ, since that's when you can ask those awkward questions about whether he's OK with you being a mage, apparently. He does accompany you on part of the quest, but the extra content is talking to him in his office. Not a huge a loss, I suppose. I'm personally still bitter (can you tell?Aww, well, I'll live lol That's a shame though. I can barely remember the Samson quest that involves Cullen... does he actually accompany you on a quest? I seem to recall that he does. Thing is though, I've completed the game twice before this and chose mages both times. I have two other incomplete playthroughs during which I chose the mages. Only once did I chose the templars (Cadash playthrough) but never played that beyond Skyhold. So not only do I really want to see the templar version of that choice, but it's also the one that made the most sense for my inquisitor; he's always been wary of magic (because he doesn't understand it); however, he has faith in his keeper and his/her (seriously, is it a guy or a girl??) first and second. But non-Dalish mages? Hmmm. Plus he has a crush on Cullen and Cullen seems to favor the templars lol *derp*
I did, however, refrain from going to Redcliffe before making my decision, because I feel once you realize what's happening there, it makes no sense not to make that choice.
You'll have to see what you think of Calpernia. Lots of folks like her a lot. I'm not in that camp, and would rather have encountered someone of greater significance to my (and my boyfriend's) Kirkwall past (e.g., Samson) for either questline choice. But, that's just me and my DA2 fetish talking.
