At least they're getting close to talking about DA4! And our heroic amputee heroes. 

And you know, they did indirectly admit they're working on DA4, even if it isn't official yet.

I admit I was kind of like that, too? Even if I didn't like it. But I can set my bias against the game aside and agree with everyone here that Trespasser DID set us up for that kind of expectation /nods ... Although do consider that they gave us a fairly large decision to make (keep or dissolve the inquisition), and I think it could be hard to write a story that would include a PC who is EITHER the head of the Inquisition or ... just some random guy or girl now lol 

 

And again to play Devil's Advocate, there are the epilogue slides. Nothing says "Game Over" like epilogue slides lol

 

I think I'm going to either play a Dorian romance or finish my Blackwall romance. It would be nice to have a canon. Something to think about!

 

Another thing, if the inquisitor were the next PC again, do you think Cullen would be in the game? I have to say no. Those who romanced Cullen would see about as much of him as we saw of Fenris, Merrill, Isabela, or Anders. (Then again this is also why I don't think Dorian will be in the next game, at least not as a companion or major character. Then again, we did have Leliana...)

The Blackwall romance probably isn't half as bad as I make it out to be if you aren't playing a dwarf Though hands down, I'd go for Dorian myself (at least you can mod away the 'stache now?)

I really liked the Dorian romance.  So much that it's really a toss up if I consider my Cullen romance canon over it.

 

And I would be really happy if Dorian came back in 4.  I think there's enough set up that he easily could come back.

 

In other news, I'm playing a female Qunari playthrough for the first time and the boob shots with her head cut off at the top of the screen are killing me.  I was pretty sure that I was going to romance Bull with this playthrough because of the quirky height issues I had heard about with Blackwall (not that I was interested anyhow) but I think I'm making the right choice seeing it firsthand.

My first romance with Blackwall left me slightly crushed - I may have taken him back but gosh it was a big pill to swallow.

I've taken it slow with Cullen. I'm only on my second playthough now and we've not even danced at Celene's yet. I'll get there tonight...

Hmm, I finished my Solavellan through killing Cory, but never did any of the DLC with her. I'd actually intended it to be something of a throwaway PT because the first one is always a PITA because of glitches and you make most of your mistakes on it, but Solas got to me . I may not ever play the DLCs with her, though. My Cullenmancer Volya went through JoH and Descent and is part way through Trespasser (before I got sidetracked.) I got Reska through to Blackwall's judgment, but that romance just aggravated me so much (especially with a dwarf - levitating boobs ahoy!) that I'll probably never finish her PT. Zhenya is at the beginning of the Arbor wilds and has done JoH.

 

I got side-tracked with Vetra, though, because the mod that removes the race-gating is incompatible with ones I was using with Volya and Zhenya. She's currently in the Fade - I wanted to do Abyss first then trigger the romance after Cullen's lyrium crisis (which lets me get the dance at the end of WE/WH.) Speaking of which, I should have screenies of Cullen's hands on her chest while Jim's yells "Commander!" in the background later today .

Well of COURSE I'm playing a dwarf; what else would I play? And yeah your screenshots have really turned me off it, especially the levitating boob But also I've seen a few scenes from the romance and they make this agender person and her agender dwarf inquisitor feel... uncomfortable. So... I think Doran? Cause yeah my Dorian is clean-shaven (though I'd prefer scruff) and sports a mohawk!

Well Dorian's voice alone may be worth the romance. Not that Cullen's VA isn't great; he is. But damn, Dorian's VA... mad skills.

I've done two complete ones. Dorian with a Mage Trev and Cullen with a two hand rogue Trev.  I'd started a Cullen romance with a mage Trev but I abandoned it because I found that the mage specific romance dialogue made me perceive my PC as needy and it wasn't enough to keep me going. 

 

Right now, the female S/S Qunari has been a lot of fun besides some of the hilarious quirks.  I really have liked the Qunari specific dialogue options and reactions so I'm 98% sure I'll finish this playthrough,  I just wish Bull talked to me more.  I think I just have to get to the dragon and Tevinter killing to get his like meter up and stop spending so much time goofing off with fetch missions instead of moving the story along.  

 

Also this is the first time I've played through Champions of the Just which I'm glad I finally did.  I really dithered on it because of course I love Cullen content but CotJ (and choosing to romance Bull this time) really pinged my Cullrian jam so I'm perfectly okay with it.

Yeah it may be an approval thing with Bull. Once you get to Skyhold he has absolutely nothing to say to you, and it can be pretty frustrating if you're trying to romance him. I recommend taking him with you and going to Redcliffe Farms and winning those three races. You get (I think) +15 Bull approval each time. I did that, returned to Skyhold, and I think got the first romance scene.

Plenty of time, considering there are at least 10 more chapters even if I cut a lot out, and I've been lucky to finish one a month recently

I think it's highly possible that Dorian will come back. Even if you don't recruit him, apparently he'll come in Trespasser as Ambassador from Tevinter. They do ensure this point.

 

Companions who I don't think will come back:

- IB (can die)

- BW (can die)

- Varric. He's been companion 2 games already and his story is more or less over

-Bethany/Carver: they'll have to get two distinct VA and it'll cost a ton just for 50% chance of being used

- The Chargers can die

- Rutherford

 

Companions who probably has good chance to come back:

- Dorian

- Dagna? Seriously this will be awesome

- Solas --> quite sure we'll see him back

- Sten

- Cole

Nah, I don't think we'll be getting quizzy back as PC as much as I wish it. Like Arty said, some people basically don't like their quizzy. I think the good deal proportion of people who wish to replay QUizzy back as PC are in the Solavellan fandom. It's also close doors to people who don't like DA3 but want to play DA4 so in term of marketing IDK.

 

Although if DA4 was a fanfiction I'll do my best to draw as much fanarts on this subject as blackmail effort...

Something I should have noted when I made my companion speculation tool was that no returning follower has ever been a romance option (at least in Dragon Age, Mass Effect is totally different). My gut still says Dorian will be a companion if only because of the followers we have he is the most likely, but I'm a lot less certain than I was a couple months ago.

My own feeling is that I also think Dorian will appear again, although I would personally be surprised if he's a companion. Just because of how they drummed into us the high level importance of what he's doing in Tevinter, it seems it could give him lots of Not On Screen stuff to do. Then again, the freakin Divine of Thedas also tagged along on my post-coronation Trespasser adventures, so, who knows. LOL He of course certainly won't be romanceable again.

I think Mae is going to be the Josephine equivalent, but I would LOVE her as a follower. Mae is awesome. Having both Mae and Dorian though would create a singularity of awesome so great that we might pop into Thedas

 

I wonder who would voice her though?
