But Fenris! :wiping tears:

I know, I'm f***ing dying over Fenris, he freaking NAILS him!!!

p.s. Doubt anyone will be offended; they are just having fun and putting THEIR spin on the character, same as people who write and draw these guys/girls :)

Well well well, tumblr's been freaking toxic. I reblog two things #PrayForBrussels and #PrayForBelgiums with my anon already off and it happened like back then after the Paris attack, of course some people got offended for my reblogging such atrocities! MMmhmmm.

I'm closing tumblr ask completely & just block a few more people. Don't have time or energy or wish to reply to what seems to be SJW or something like that why I should reblog a thing and not the other. They can go jump from a cliff and stop bothering me. Why do we become mutuals back then I don't even know anymore. :bandit:

True, it is exaggerated, and I hope that Dorian fans aren't offended by it. :?

If his writer isn't offended, how could they be?

Well, I know that being offended on behalf of others is practically a sport these days, but you'd really have to bend over backwards to find fault with this video.

People are offended that you hope people are okay/that your heart goes out to them?

There's two ways this goes:

"People die in conflicts around the world every day, you know. That you only care when white Europeans are being killed by terrorists is really problematic."

or

"How dare you try to capitalize on this tragedy just to get followers/spread your message"

Seems pretty fair. Magekiller 4 was pretty inconsequential.

I was really surprised. #3 was by far one of my favorites. Tessa and Marius are really interesting characters and this issue sort of dumped all that for a pretty average story. No character growth, no plot progression. I love seeing all of the other characters, but if your not a game fan it doesn't matter.

Just sad we didn't get a good insight into Marius or the fact that they have to work with certain characters now. Oh and the cover is super misleading.

Yeah, it was just covering old ground. We've been to the Hissing Wastes. We've heard the running gag about Dalish not being a mage. This has all been done.

The plan to set the slaves free doesn't even make much sense. Why is Marius even on fire? To make the Venatori think he's a demon? How does that, say, deflect magic spells or shield him from arrows? They could have accomplished the same thing by setting one of the tents aflame. The plan is still just "one guy marches into a camp filled with dozens of enemies", except that guy is on fire.

Either way, I still stand on my position that I owe no explanation for anyone for why I reblog some stuffs and not other, why I should involve myself with SJW stuffs or not. If she wants to get offended she only needs to unfollow or block me, which now is done on my side. She already knows from long ago that if anyone raises their voice/shout louder I'll let them win the argument/debate anyway. So why the heck should I explain myself anyway. Better if she just jumps from a cliff and stop bothering everyone else. Guess that this is a point of seriously, I don't care anymore of any vocal SJW people. What the heck I thought of not blocking her just because she's among the first mutuals I had. sigh...Quite sure now who were actually sending all those hates for my loving of a certain fic, of Solas, of elves etc.

Anyway, Brussels' just the next door from where I am and the heck, I have at least a couple friends who live there. I'm not white, but why the heck I can't do any nod to my RL friends who are mutuals with me anyway. There's a very thick line of getting offended for stuffs that's really offensive and this kind of things.

The first three issues get better and better, but than this one was very average as far as comics go for me personally. The art is really nice and the story is interesting so far, but unless they somehow tie this one to issue 5 you could miss it and there be no difference.

As far as whether it's worth it. I would say if you're not in a hurry buy the trade paper back which comes out in July with all five issues. If you already bought one or two I would say buy them if only to stay current with the storyline. Issue 3 was very good and well worth the buy, the first two were also pretty good.

All of this might change though depending on if they plan more or if issue 5 ties everything together or bombs.

Edit: The second issue isn't bad either. I really like the art in that one, mind you I just know what I like. Not necessarily what is good.

Magekiller #4 might not be much story-wise but IMO it was fun to see what your Inquisition forces (especially the Chargers!) do without the Inquisitor around. And I enjoyed finally seeing more familiar, friendly faces. Also the Leliana cover is gorgeous~!

I mean as a fan I love seeing all of those guys, but they introduced an awesome character from the games in a story relevant way the last issue in the form of Charter. Make the mission a little more relevant and I'm satisfied.

The Leliana cover IS gorgeous. i haven't had an issue with any of the covers, but the next one I'm a little iffy on. I think what bums me out is her use in the story though.

I think I can let this issue go IF the next issue is amazing or it ties #4 in better. Why was this mission so important? Was this a test? If so what did this tell us that the #3 didn't? I think I'd be less critical if I knew for sure whether this was a one off series or maybe its going to reoccurring?

To say something nice though. Those opening panels when Tessa meets up with Marius. Awesome.

Yeah hopefully we will find out next issue. I mean although I superficially enjoyed this issue because of the DAI tie-ins (hello tiny Cullen!) I agree it didn't do much to move the story along. I don't think I heard anything about it being a miniseries though? I assumed it was going to be ongoing....

EDIT: I tweeted Greg Rucka and he confirmed it's a 5 issue miniseries as you said :/ It also sounds like they might have a series of miniseries much like they did for other Bioware games' comics, so there is hope yet although maybe not so much for these 2 main characters but at least more DAI-related comics...

(Aforementioned tweet: https://twitter.com/...46117095919617)

I also had a thought though...what if it's not meant to have a STORY story but is more supposed to illustrate how the Inquisition gathers their agents? I mean, that'd be kind of weird...but the length of the series and amount of story makes sense for that.

But Fenris! :wiping tears:

I was mildly conflicted. It was funny and endearing, with the slight downside that I think he was portraying the campy stereotype a part of the fan base often reads into Dorian rather than Dorian's actual mannerisms.

Still, the guy has serious charisma...and the Fenris cameo was fantastic.

Yep she was Admiral Raan :D That was my first encounter with her; later I found out she an "actual" actor and is currently starring in the SyFy show The Expanse. Her voice is so rich and awesome.

*snip*

Yes, I caught that new show a couple of times and saw her in there. She's good in the role. I haven't seen it lately. I think I saw the first 2 episodes, but I'm lousy at keeping up with tv shows. So, I'll wait for the whole season to come out, I guess. I liked that show. It's obviously in the future space sci-fi, it reminds me a little bit of ME but it's more ...grungy in the environment.

When they do ftl travel it's a bit of an ordeal for the people. IIRC, they would put these, ack, what are they called...protective mouth gear to bite down on; meanwhile there's this fluid that gets pumped into their as they're sitting. The whole thing looks painful.  It was interesting because that scene brought home the idea to me how hard on the human organism space travel really is--even in the future. We're Earth babies. This is gonna be an adjustment.

But yeah, I only saw the first 2 shows, but as soon as I saw her face and heard her voice I thought, "It's Raan!"

I liked that part in the Dorian vid when he drinks his coffee and the mug has a little mustache on it. So while he's sipping coffee, you can still see the mustache. lol

And Fenris, lol. It had good pacing; good timing. The Fenris bit being so quick enhanced the funny because it threw you off. Wait, what? Oh, Fenris. Yup.

edit: oh, my goodness it's top of page!

I must say, I do love that Winter Palace dancing scene. It's so sweet and cool and romantic. I really appreciated that BW put that scene in there for Quizzy and their LI.  A great little detail that added alot of Heart.

@Cerulione I'm sorry about the Tumblr incident. That stinks. I find that these days both the so-called liberal "sjw" and the conservative right wingers are pretty much the same thing in that they're both extreme. Which is funny because they're at opposite ends of the social issues spectrum, yet when they are extreme with their positions, they are exactly the same--authoritarian control freaks and plain old Busybodies.

The world has become very noisy. I've found the need, personally, to cut out alot of sites and whatnot. For me, it became like information/opinion overload. Too much chatter. The internet has become like this ocean of human emotion that's constantly swirling and roiling about. I had to  crawl out to the beach and flop down to get some fresh air.

I still have my Twitter for quick news and what not. And the BSN. That's it now for me. Dumped everything else.

I like Tumblr and Reddit and things like that, but it's just too much shite. I actually BSN precisely because it is so....uh, niche.  The BSN is like a specialty coffee house. In Havannah. In the 1940's.

And this is the Cullen Thread:

I for one am in favor of a new PC  for the next game. Especially if we're going to tevinter. I would like a PC that is from the area. Along with all new companions.

I also feel like if we are having new PC's every game, then they should really cut down on the cameos and returning companions as new companions. It creates this weird shift, or split in me. On the one hand I'm this new PC, and don't know these characters. On the other hand, I'm the player and we've been through hell together. So, I'm happy to see them and they're like yeah, hey whatever.   I do not find it satisfying.

I made the mistake once of asking Lelianna if she had any stories. She was like, "If you want stories, go to the library." Okay.

And I admit, I was a tad bit envious of Bull and his Chargers. They seemed really close, like a little family. That was the kind of feeling I got with DAO and DA2 companions; a small band of outcast, roving "mercenaries" that needed each other. I did not feel that with DAI. I didn't feel like they were really "with" me as much as we were collaborating on a project, but their real alliances and "family" were elsewhere.

I mean, I think they wanted the companions to be kind of big shots in their own right, and with "their own lives" and all that. Which is great on paper,b ut-for me-in game it made for a bit of a disconnect.

 Eh, but that's just me.

Aww, I was hoping this would be multi-arc series like The Silent Grove/Those Who Speak/Until We Sleep comics.

I have no doubt its to do that as well as set up something in DA4, whether that is a couple of characters, a quest line (like the Orlesian Civil War in Masked Empire) or a secondary antagonist. It could just be to really tie up what happens to the very last of the Venatori and Red Templars. Otherwise there are just these weird scattered pockets.

I like seeing how the old companions react to the new PC's personally. I like that with the Inquisitor Varric was much more secretive than with Hawke or how Anders opens up and romances Hawke over the Warden. It's why I really hope to see how Dorian reacts to the new PC as a Magister and former follower of the Inquisitor.

Can you imagine if the PC was a slave, potentially owned by Dorian?
