As a female, can I flirt with Dorian and still romance cullen?

One would have to assume Cullen is aware that Dorian likes men so he sees no need to say anything to the Quizzie about her flirting with Dorian. I like it when the fem Quizzie learns about Dorian's preferences and he offers to stop flirting and you can tell him 'hell no, keep flirting' You get lots of approval with Dorian for saying that ![]()

LOL I do this, too. I just adore Dorian.
But... I don't think Cullen comments on your flirting with anyone else either once you've initiated the romance, does he?
Wow, it's been quiet! Have a loverly Halamshiral Cullen by AskBroodyElf.

I know. So pretty!
I'm watching this and as egoist as this may sound, this lavellan reminds me of my tiny Luthiel...
Not really what you ladies hanker for, but I thought this female Cullen (Colleen?) cosplay was really good. Very detailed.

Eh, don't sweat it.
My main Lavellans are young, pale, white-haired mages, and you'd be amazed by how much Solavellan (and to a lesser extent Cullen/Lavellan) fan art involves Lavellans by that description. I have mentally pretended that many a sweet/cute/sad fan picture or comic applied to my Solavellan or Cullen / Lavellan even though I know they weren't meant to. (Including but certainly not limited to this, this, and this. I'm not even sorry.)
Agreed. Every three months or so I see a Solas x m!Lavellan fan art, and I just sort of whisper to myself... That's Alin with long hair... That's Alin with an eye-patch... That's Alin with weird scars all over his face. Also I ignore that person who posts Solas x nb!Lavellan and pretend that's Alin, too. YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. ![]()
There's pretty much no Cullen x m!Lavellan fan art so I can't even pretend there, sob. I really would love to learn how to make those YT videos though. But I guess you have to have special software that can record your game as you play it.
Nah TBH I just know that lots of people who draws/write aren't happy when someone else tag their own OC under their work. Making videos like that takes lots of skills actually, and it's lots of hard work so... But well, I can't stop myself thinking "THIS LAVELLAN IS SO LUTHIEL!" and she even takes nearly every dialogue option Lu said.
About the software, I think there are fraps who cost like 30 USD? But it'll take thousands of time replaying to get everything...

No kidding, I once messaged an artist to tell them their Lavellan looked just like mine, and that made me feel so happy, and they shot back saying the art had been a gift for someone and they were not pleased with me saying that blah blah blah... sometimes fan artist and writers and vid makers can be such drama kings/queens lol
I'm trying to picture myself flying into a frothing rage if someone reblogged my fic and tagged their own OC. It's... it's hard... I can't... wait, I'm having trouble imagining someone reblogging my fic PERIOD ![]()

Oh sorry, forgot to respond to this. I don't think I could justify spending money on such a program. But also it would be yet another thing I have to invest time and energy into. Maybe I just wish I were 25 again instead of 35 and had loads of free time and energy
Or better yet 15...
Btw I plan to read and give feedback on what you sent me today
I've been very sick the past couple days so it was hard to focus on anything fun ![]()

Wait till you get to my age then you'll have something to complain about
I'm 42 in June. Good god where do the years go? I really must make time to play DA:I but I've been to busy playing Skyrim and SW:TOR
Too many games so little time....

Yes lol And I can't switch between games because I'll spend half the time trying to remember the controls for that game. So right now I'm playing Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen on PC. (By the way I seriously encourage anyone who has a PC to get it!! It is single-player but you can exchange pawns (helper characters that you create in CC) with your Steam friends. It's so awesome.) And when I'm playing a game, it means I'm not watching the backlog of TV shows on the DVR. Or the series I'm trying to marathon through. And apparently I'm also calling myself a writer so I'm supposed to be writing stuff sometimes too????
Then it's 11pm and I have to go to bed and the whole damn thing starts up all over again T_T ![]()
I'm a writer as well
I'm writing a fic called A Time Displaced Sith which has far more favs and followers than I ever thought it might. It started off as a one off piece but has really taken on a life of it's own as these things tend to do. How far I end up going and how much I muck about with the prequels I don't know but I'm really enjoying myself. ![]()

Yeah, that's why I never share my thoughts.
The way I see it, as long as someone doesn't try to pass the art off as their own or share the art's work claiming it's for their own character, no harm done. Who cares if someone looks at a fan picture and thinks, "That OC looks just like my OC" or "That OC's relationship with that character reminds me of my OC's relationship with that character," and they only think it but don't try to hijack it, who cares??

Yeah, I agree.
I mean, I've been struggling to become a good artist my whole life. I just want to create something beautiful enough to share, let alone something good enough that anyone would want to take. (Note I said "want to take," not follow through. If they followed through with trying to pass it off as theirs, I'd be ticked.) I'd be flattered if someone liked something of mine enough that they saw something of themselves in it; not put out that they didn't appreciate that it was BY ME, FOR ME, ABOUT ME, so how dare you not appreciate the glory that is ME!
I personally think great art is supposed to touch people, so if they're able to find joy, enrichment, or meaning that I didn't intend but that still makes their lives slightly better, I consider it a job well-done as an artist.
Hell, in middle school I once made a self-portrait that got sent to a junior art gallery, and a LOT of people thought the picture reminded them of someone they knew (apparently I have one of those faces), or they'd ask me things like, "Did you know X? She's my best friend. Is this a painting of her?" or "I didn't know you knew my stepmom!" And I never once got offended. Taken aback at first because I didn't expect that reaction? Sure, but once I got used to it I was happy that so many people looked at my portrait and saw the faces of friends and loved ones looking back at them. (It was always people they liked or were on good terms with; thankfully no one ever said, "Ugh! You painted that b!tch?") I wasn't mad that that portrait was supposed to be ME and how dare they look at it and see anyone else but ME.
I don't know.

This is a very fine line, TBH I do have conflicting feeling about this.
As you say on the page before, when I saw that video I was so "THAT IS LUTHIEL THAT IS LUTHIEL THAT IS LUTHIEL". But I never dare to go tag/comment saying this on places where the artist/writer can see it, as much as possible.
Personally though, I'm fine with people seeing other thing on my works. Once I drew a Solavellan epilogue slide on my own specific quizzy and you won't believe how many people actually tag it with their own OC. More than anything I was so amused because there's just so much people in denial as I am. There are people in Deviant art looking at my Looking Glass drawings telling me they truly love the paintings without knowing what the story is about and that's the most touching things ever really.
For me to see that my own creation can resonates with someone else, that it can touch, move, or stir something in other people, it's a truly wonderful thing already. When I make something, I do have something precise in mind. A state of mind. An image. I take what's been there and change it as I see fit. When someone else sees it, they take what's important to them and
But, sometime, there are time when someone just makes something after many many days of hard work, about their favourite character so they want it to be recognized justly as. A comment "this reminds me of XYZ" is usually can pass for me but not for some, and some people do choose to appropriate the art/fic "this is my OC" despite the creator indicating clearly otherwise. I understand those who doesn't like their creation to be tagged with other people's OC on forceful appropriation as such and I don't think it's OK to just dismiss their reaction by using "drama queen/king".
It might depend on for what the creation was made probably? Some people create their artwork/writing as an expression of themselves. From what I see, these people are usually the one who doesn't like others appropriating their work.
The times (all two of them
) someone's said one of my characters was so much like one of theirs, I've been thrilled myself. I would only imagine I'd get irritated if they told me I was using theirs (i.e. got the idea from them) or started complaining that my character made the "wrong" choices because theirs wouldn't have. I rarely see characters that remind me of mine in appearance, I guess because most of my aren't very conventional, but sometimes I see fanart or read a fanfic with a character who behaves a bit like one of mine. That seems to happen most often involving a mabari...

Mid-50s here, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the oldest who hangs around here. BTW, you have good taste in games... ![]()
Edit: I missed a lot this afternoon so not quoting. Ceru I think an artist taking offense at "your character reminds me of mine" is overreacting (just because the artist imagined a particular appearance doesn't mean someone else didn't imagine a similar one, and may even have had the idea earlier.) But yes, I do think it's offensive to reblog someone else's art (particularly if it's clearly labelled as someone) and put their own OC's name on it.
Haha, if you think that's bad I own just about every RPG Bioware have put out starting with Balder's Gate
Some of Obsidian's and all three Witcher games. Most of which I've still to start much less finish. ![]()

All 3 DA games, all 3 ME games, Jade Empire, Skyrim, SWtor, KoTOR, and KoTOR 2. I've played SWtOR, DAO and DAI extensively. About half of ME1, and a little of both KoTOR and Skyrim. The others are for that magical future when I have more free time.
