Oh, I know the thread itself will still technically exist, just as our previous three threads still exist. But they've all been consigned to oblivion since we moved all the people to this one here. The same is slowly happening with this one. So the question remains essentially whether there will be enough people left from our current thread to make it worth moving. :D But we don't need to answer that question for some time.

I didn't know it had gone THAT way. =/ That's disappointing. So I guess we'll all stay here for now. =D

So can someone help me with the DA:I Hawke timeline? The wiki is rather coy with the details and my memory is crap. So, pro-templar Hawke was Viscount in Kirkwall until the crazy red lyrium templars ran her out, whereas pro-mage Hawke split at the end of Act 3. But then... Hawke was investigating red lyrium and went to her Grey Warden contact about it, which is where she learns about the fake Calling. So... am I right in assuming that even pro-mage Hawke was investigating red lyrium, while she was on the lamb running around Thedas and evading pursuit by The Powers That Be? Or maybe that's just something she started recently once the red templars started crap in Kirkwall, whether or not she was Viscount? Help a fanfic writer out?? :D

Yeah, as you said;

Pro-Mage Hawke was away from Kirkwall post-DA2 and at some point decided to investigate red lyrium, eventually going to the Wardens for answers because they knew more about the Deep Roads and possible leads on the Primeval Thaig than anyone else.

Pro-Templar Hawke was Viscount for some time post-DA2, until the Red Templars usurped them and forced them to flee, which is when they went to the Wardens for answers for the same reasons as above.

I suspect that Hawke was Viscount when the Red Templars overthrew them, probably sometime around the severing of the Nevarran Accords in 9:40 and long before the appearance of Red Lyrium and the Templar Order being compromised became apparent to anyone. It probably happened after Cullen left to join the Inquisition around that same time, since he'd have mentioned any coups or red lyrium use otherwise.

My pet theory on why Kirkwall was one of the first places co-opted by Red Templars, is that it was a targeted bit of revenge by Corypheus for brutally murdering him. He's got a major ego and a bit of a vindictive streak, so if he couldn't easily get to Hawke, I can see him taking it out on the city that Hawke was Champion/Viscount of, by sowing even more chaos there.

Thanks. The part about a Viscount Hawke still just doesn't make much sense. From the Samson short story, red lyrium was barely an issue before Cullen left, and that was already after the Accord was broken. So it just makes me scratch my head, still, what they were doing that forced him/her out.

But I couldn't really recall the pro-mage Hawke steps. I guess Hawke can mention that she and Aveline helped get Bethany/Carver to a safe place before all the fake Calling stuff started happening, so I guess she was doing that before she comes to Skyhold?

Hawke doesn't learn about the fake calling until the Warden contact tells Inquisitor in the cave. I just played this and my pro-mage (but I think it's the same for both) got a bit pissy with Stroud "Why didn't you tell me this !" His response was that it was a grey warden secret and not something they like to talk about. Quizy remarks on how the wardens are acting out of fear. I'm paraphrasing a bit but that's the gist of it.

Just letting you know if you need it for your story.

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

OK, right. So she does go to talk to them about red lyrium first, and they reveal they're hiding out because of the fake Calling and how everyone except your contact has gone mad? So then... why does she take her grey warden sibs to safety then? Hmm, guess I'll have to go dig out that banter. I guess it must be a conversation with Hawke after you meet up with Stroud/Alistair/Loghain? She must have contacted Aveline to take care of Beth/Carver after Crestwood, then. Does that still follow? Pfft.

I don't know if I found out folks were messing with red lyrium, I'd get my baby brother away ASAP! Wait it's the Templars not the wardens, hmm maybe maybe when the wardens start going missing, Hawke's is all "Not my Sib!" and hides them away preemptively. Cause you can have the conversation about hiding them away before going to Crestwood.

Sometimes I think the devs don't think about all these things as much as we do! : )

I can see Hawke playing the older sibling card and making their first move be to get Carver/Bethany to safety, because they'd already lost enough people in their life and they didn't want to bring them along if it was too dangerous.

Circle!Bethany would be in danger because of the Mage-Templar War, Templar!Carver has the Mage-Templar War and Red Templars to deal with, while either being Wardens puts them at risk because their comrades have begun acting strangely and going missing.

Plus Aveline was the one taking them out of Orlais and I seriously doubt either Bethany or Carver would be willing to risk making her mad by refusing to go or trying to sneak back in. Having Hawke be an overprotective elder sibling is one thing, it's another to try to mess with the resident Team Mum, who's quite prepared to drag you kicking and screaming out of the country.

To shed further light on the current situation regarding Jonny's/Greg's whereabouts, at present his family and friends have no idea where he is and have no way of contacting him because he left his phone and wallet behind. He lasted tweeted yesterday (Thursday) linking to his Whosay account which was an audio post where he simply says: "Leave. Only. Vital. Energy" (= LOVE) which he originally posted a few days prior but it's possible that the tweet had been scheduled in a queuing service. Apparently when he was last seen he was having a manic bipolar episode and hasn't been taking medication or seeing a doctor for it.

I'm monitoring things on social media so if anything else comes up I'll check back in.

*Edit* I suppose I should throw in a disclaimer and say that at the moment all we have to go on is one guy's word, he's definitely a friend of Jonny's/Greg's family BUT that doesn't mean his disappearance is true... I messaged Jonny/Greg to let him know the situation a few hours ago but I've yet to hear anything back from him, which is worrying.

*Update* It's been confirmed that Jonny/Greg is indeed missing. If any of you happen to have contact with him over social media or if you're in the LA area and run into him call the LAPD and ask to speak to Detective Palmer on  213-996-1800 and reference the case number: 161511285.

I contacted my people out there and asked them to stay aware and, reach out to common contacts they have with Greg/Jonny. Off chance he might show someplace they go or, at an event they are a part of. Hope he's okay and at least lets somone know that and tell us that much even if he doesn't want to be found.

Honestly not looking good though, no wallet or phone so, he wasn't planning on needing to call or message anyone and, wasn't planning on needing food or shelter. I hate to think it but, hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

There is a reddit thread that is keeping abreast of this sad situation: https://www.reddit.c...he_voice_actor/

I personally don't feel like I should talk about him and his situation... I am just thinking of what he is dealing with now as well as his family... but thought I would share the link.

Good thoughts for all involved...

The thing that's killing me about Jonny's disappearance is that I saw a transient man in Commerce, CA Thursday night; and I thought to myself "Hey, he looks like Greg! I mean Jonny (still getting used to the name change)." Now I can't stop thinking - unlikely as it is - "What if it WAS him?"

oh sh!t. Dunno where Commerce is compared to where he was last seen, but do you think it's worth reporting?
