As few of you know I'm running a thread here but verbiage and personal comments have I decided to put here:
- Monkeytoes was contacted. Friday via email and today via phone. No response to the email yet, phone call went to the answering machine after ringing for a while.
- Samara's description could match. Only concern that I have is Commerce is 7 hours by foot away from NoHo. Jonny/Greg left without his wallet and ID. I'm not familiar with LA, but if there any services that offer car rides for free or give out free food might be worth looking into.
- Other things that might be worth looking into is the Monkeytoes office. He might have stopped by there and for all we know has either passed out there or stopped by to get some money/food. Though I can't find an address.
- I don't know enough about Bipolar disorder to comment on that (honestly I don't think you can truly understand it unless you live with it). I'm only specialized in ADHD. But I can guess that a manic person wandering all alone does not lead to great trails of thought.
Check hotel records in LA. (unlikely if he hasn't got any money but IF he stopped by Monkeytoes he might have had some money hidden in the office) Okay scratch that since there was a law that did things. But he could be at a hotel/motel in LA. And it's here where it becomes difficult because there are too many hotels/motels in LA to keep track of (over 997. I'll try to narrow this down).
There are a lot of services in the area that offer free food, transportation, shelter, etc... Not to mention he does have A Lister friends who will also help him hide if he's doing do intentionally.
As for services to check, Traveler's Aid Society - transportation, free bus and sometimes plane tickets and, all you need is someone they can call that will verify you have a place to stay at your destination.
Dorcas Society - clothing, food.
St. Vincent De Paul - food vouchers, clothing.
Homeless Missions and shelters - housing, meals, clothing.
Salvation Army - meals, shelter in Commerce area.
Lutheran Church - free meals.
Untied way, gas vouchers if you have a vehicle, public transportation passes.
Food Banks - free food
County Social Services Offices - emergency food stamps and money, referrals to other agencies.
Yeah I spend a few months homeless in LA in my youth - dumb move leaving home the day I turned 18 and being too proud to go back even though I had all of 200 USD and a backpack of clothes to my name. Learned that it's pretty easy to live for free there for a couple of months before you wear out your welcome at the shelters.
