Although it has been a while since I have been a regular participant over here after I took break from BSN around the time of DAI's release to avoid, I have another possible suggestion for where the Cullen fans can rehome to a place that is cozy, friendly, and outside the stampede of tumblr and twitter.
I recently received a beta invite to imzy.com and they appear to be interested in making their social communities site work for fandom in addition to other kinds of content. Imzy is still be in beta for the next two months and they have been responsive to feature requests from their beta users. So far I have seen a group of fandom old timers discuss ways to make imzy a good platform for fandom and imzy staff have been very responsive. All of this is a good sign.
Imzy sort of feels like a full featured forum site like this one crossed with a modern remake of LiveJournal/Dreamwidth. They have designed it to strongly encourage positive friendly community interactions and have a sensible mod-oriented way to mod/block/remove/disallow trollish behavior. *phew*
If anyone is interested in starting an imzy.com Cullen community (or a Cullenites community?) or some other similar idea where discussion ranges from random coffee chat that includes a few Cullen gifs sprinkled in once every 10 to 20 comments, I could request invites from imzy to get this started.
From what I have seen so far, I think it would be easy to organize an imzy community with multiple active topics. This would mean that random friendly coffee chat could occur on one endlessly long rambling thread while other things like Cullen meta, Cullen-related fanfic/fanart challenges, new Cullen-related fanworks announcements, and specific on-topic Culleny discussions could all be organized into other posts/topics. According to one of the developers at Imzy, they plan on adding wikis to the communities which would be fantastic for fandom communities.
Just putting this out here for discussion if anyone is interested?
