So, I'll be setting up the new thread today around 12pm noon Eastern time, which is about 6hrs from now, for those not doing time zone math at home. :P

I'll reserve the first two, I think, posts for the OP, and then I'd appreciate it if y'all could chime in. I also recommend bookmarking it, since we're so quiet these days, I doubt we'll pop up at the top of the character section like we're wont to do.

I'll bring my rocking chair on over and see ya there!  ^_^

Bwahahaha! I'm not even the 2nd oldest, then :P  This keeps getting better, I'm starting to feel younger all the time! B)

Is there something about Dragon Age that's attracting the mid 1950s to early 1960s crowd? (and sorry, I know I'm paranoid, but I get edgy giving an exact age or b'day on line. I'm not actually coy about my exact age irl ;) )

I can only speak for me, of course, but I loved the story of Dragon Age. It's like reading a good book that you can actually participate in. And it doesn't hurt there are characters like Alistair and Cullen.

As for this group in particular, it's a good bunch of people that I feel comfortable with. Sure, there have been the squabbles, but that'll happen with any group of friends. We're all individuals and there's simply no way to agree on everything all the time. Thing is, though, we always seem to manage to work through it and remain friends. I hope that most, if not all, will make the journey to our new home. If not...  :crying:

OK, now I'm just getting maudlin...

I'll join you, but I'll probably bring a super soaker instead of a cane (more fun, and suits the weather right now.)

Actually, that pretty much sums a lot of it for me, even if I'd probably substitute Zevran and Solas ;) And this definitely has felt like a comfortable family room where everyone can lounge around and yack. Completely with the family squabbles

I prefer the rocking chair and a cane. Shaking the cane at the younguns seems quite effective!

I may like a rocking chair, but it's after lifting weights at the gym for 2 and 1/2 hours.  :D Going to the gym regularly and playing video games, has gotten me used to being an "older" person surrounded by a lot of people younger than me.  :)

I agree that there is something about the DA games that keep me playing them. I recently tried playing The Witcher and set it aside, at least for now, because that story was actually making me feel depressed. I'll take companions like Alistair, Zevran, and the others, any day, over having to play Geralt, bedding his disposable women.  <_<

Also true is that this has been a comfortable place to be.  :)

Yeah, I got 10 or 15 hours into W3 and lost interest. Geralt himself didn't bother me as much as some of the other dialogue I started encountering (I think the experience is different with him depending on dialogue choices.) Plus, I got tired of walking 30 feet down the beach and running into  mobs 2x the level of the ones I just fought (I consider random levels scattered all over to be built-in time sinks to make sure people spend more time in the game - you waste a lot of time trying to find the opponents your own level.)

There was a character limit on the thread title, so it is what it is: The Old Guard (Ye Olde Cullen Thread v4.0 + gen discussion)

Go check it out! And, set up your sig files. Apparently we can use image banners again.
